I founded EMS Estates because I've been in your shoes! Years ago, I decided to sell my jewelry to help pay for tuition, but I didn't know what it was worth or how to market it. I had no idea how jewelry appraisals worked. The scariest part was I had no way of knowing whether I was being taken advantage of.

Education: You will work with me, a Graduate Gemologist who trained at the Gemological Institute of America, the world's foremost authority in Gemology. Elizabeth was fabulous! I had five pieces of family jewelry I wanted to learn more about, so I booked an appointment with Elizabeth. She examined each piece telling me the materials, diamond/gem sizes, decade it was likely from, and an estimated value of each piece. This was very helpful for me, because I don’t know much about jewelry. Elizabeth was very professional, super knowledgable, and clearly passionate about helping me! Elizabeth designed my custom-made engagement ring, which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. We met with her and I showed her pictures of my idea. Then we tried out different stones, of which she had hundreds to look at, and worked at the specifics of the ring including stone size, specific colors, and setting details. She didn't have the turquoise that I wanted in her office that day, so she showed me some pictures and worked out exactly what I was looking for. I contacted Elizabeth at EMS Estates for an appraisal for a divorce. It was a raw time, and Elizabeth was kind and empathetic while maintaining a professional approach to the appraisal. She explained the different kinds of appraisal, from liquidation value to replacement value, and worked with me to properly appraise the items for a divorce settlement. Elizabeth and her team were able to complete the appraisal quickly, and then explained the appraisal report in clear terms. EMS Estates is a great company and highly recommended.

I asked Elizabeth at EMS Estates to sell an antique brooch for me. Several other people said it was "un-sellable" as it wasn't in fashion any longer. Elizabeth found a buyer and did what others said was impossible - she sold it and got a decent price for it. Throughout the process, Elizabeth stayed in touch, letting me know what was going on.
