Our goal is to guide people toward living a healthy and enjoyable life through the practice of Pilates, to make Pilates accessible to as many people as possible, and build a positive, supportive & inclusive global Pilates community. Pilates classes are a great way to tone, stretch, align and rejuvenate the body.

Bali Body Pilates Studio Owner, Sarah Artha Negara, creates a welcoming atmosphere for everybody and crafts fun creative workouts that will both inspire, educate, and center your body, mind, and spirit. Sarah has been teaching Pilates, Yoga, and Dance for twenty years and has run a Pilates teacher training program for the last ten at College of San Mateo.

Private Sessions are the ideal way to learn the Pilates method. We are each unique inside and out, have different learning styles, fitness levels, and movement experience. Private sessions offer you individualized programing, cuing, and training from an expert in the field to meet your needs. In addition, at Bali Body Pilates studio, a private session means exactly that, the entire studio is reserved just for you.
Sarah is such a warm and caring person, in addition to being highly knowledgeable and experienced master Pilates instructor. I've made several trips from the Bay Area with a friend to her charming studio in the Old Sash Mill, Santa Cruz, for duet sessions, and appreciate Sarah's carefully designed classes that work the body thoroughly, with special attention to proper form, breathing, alignment and modifications as needed.

Bali Body Pilates studio owner, Sarah Artha-Negara has made a major impact for the better in my life. As a client I received sessions for pre-hab and rehab of hip dysfunction leading up to and after replacements. The ease of recovery surprised my doctor !! I love this place! Sarah Artha Negara is an AMAZING pilates instructor. I've taken hundreds of private and group pilates classes over the past 10+ years and she's the best I've ever had. She's so incredibly knowledgable, and she's patient, kind, encouraging, and full of awesomeness in so many ways. I've taken privates at her very well equipped studio in Santa Cruz. I've also taken her group mat classes offered online via zoom. Highly recommended!!!

I was recently diagnosed with a 60 degree lower lumbar scoliosis and I am 70 years young! It was such a shock but it definitely explained why my body was twisted and why I had constant pain. Sarah to the rescue!
She was amazing not only to work with my condition but to explain it to me as well. I am finally understanding my body and with Sarah, everything makes sense. She is better than any Physical Therapist. My shoulder was frozen for years after a breast lumpectomy and now it is pain free and I have a great range of motion. I wish I could give more than 5 stars as Sarah is an absolutely phenomenal Pilates instructor! I've been taking Pilates for quite a while but her expertise is incredible, if you want an instructor that goes above and beyond to assess your individual needs and help you, definitely go to Sarah.

Her studio is beautiful and has a great vibe that makes working out feel like you are on a relaxing vacation even if you are feeling the burn! (In a good way!) It's located in an adorable plaza with lots of parking making it super convenient.

I am a 20 year old female and have had a hip problem for the past five years, which forced me to retire from figure skating (after eight years) but has also left me in constant pain. I had seen 5 different doctors (orthopedic surgeons, specialists, and others) and none were able to give me any relief. After I had given up on finding any relief for my pain I signed up for Sarah's Pilates class, which has helped me tremendously. Sarah is an amazing Pilates instructor! I've taken many different Pilates classes in many different studios and gyms and Sarah is one of my favorite instructors so far. She's an incredibly friendly and takes that extra time and energy to really know and connect with her students. When I injured my back, she was incredibly helpful in giving me proper cues and giving me advice on how to take care of my injury. She mixes up her classes so that we do different things every time, and she often takes requests from students so that the classes are really personalized.

Sarah is a terrific Pilates teacher. She's gifted in her ability to explain exercises and how to modify them for individual needs. Her anatomy knowledge is fantastic. Whatever your fitness goals are, I highly recommend studying with her!

If you are looking for someone who understands anatomy, who has outstanding knowledge in different areas of fitness, and who can give you an amazing, fun workout, look no further! I'm thoroughly impressed with Sarah as a Pilates Instructor. She is personable, detail oriented, and her experience is reflected in everything she does. Sarah is an excellent Pilates instructor. Even in a large group setting she manages to pass on her knowledge and enthusiasm to each individual regardless of prior experience level. I have become stronger and more aware of my body through her attention. In fact, I value her class so much that I am taking it for the third semester in a row!
