Dr. Tijerina was born and raised right here in Texas. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio before moving on to achieve his doctorate at Baylor College of Dentistry. Today, he has been working in dentistry for six years and counting, and he is a proud Austinite! He is also bilingual and speaks Spanish.
At Parkfield Dental Group, Dr. Tijerina couldn't be prouder to be a member of the greater Austin, TX community, and he enjoys doing whatever he can to help make this area an even better place to live and work. He currently participates in HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians), a local insurance group that assists artists and musicians receiving important healthcare.

The staff as well as Dr. Tijerina are absolutely amazing. I always felt taken care of, had no waiting times whatsoever and every procedure from cleaning, filing to crown have been efficient, affordable and I had no issues with any of them afterwards. I have a fear of dentist but this practice puts me at ease.

I've been going to Dr. T at Parkfield Family Dental for about 4 years. Easy to make appointments, spotless offices, perfectly decent dental care, friendly and competent staff.
I do wish that they offered an affiliated dentist in the event we have a dental emergency in Parkfield's off hours. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with this dental provider.

Anna is such a great hygenist. Her technique is SO GENTLE that you could probably fall asleep in her chair. I have a fairly high pain tolerance such that I usually ask for no novacaine for fillings but seeing Anna take such care to work her way through every single tooth without ever asking me to "OPEN WIDE" is such a marvel to observe. I really appreciated how relaxed I was after I got through my cleaning. I got to work in a hygenist's office for a week in high school and though I've observed plenty of hygenists, she's gotta be the most gentle EVER. I'm definitely bringing my mom back here because

Just left after my first appointment with Anna and Dr. T and wow! I have never enjoyed a dentist visit before this one. They are so kind and gentle and no nonsense. My previous dentist told me I had a couple of cavities and referred me to a specialist about a misshapen root. I’m glad I got a second opinion - Dr. T assured me everything looks fine. I HIGHLY recommend Parkfield Family if you are in the market for a new dentist!

Parkfield Family Dental is the best dental office in Austin. Every time I walk into their office Dr. Hector and his staff are always so kind and friendly.
I really like how this office uses some amazing, new technology that I've never seen before. They're able to take computerized images of your teeth so you can actually see and understand the condition of your teeth.
Personally, I want to understand why a service is needed and they are really helpful by showing you the pictures and explaining what is happening with my teeth. I learned more about my teeth today than I ever have the past 40 years

I'm new to town and needed a new dentist, Parkfield was recommended by my orthodontist. I was surprised to be able to get an appointment for the next day when I called, check in was flawless and I got my xrays and cleaning done with no issues. The Dr. came and checked me over and we discussed some future issues but nothing was needing done just yet. Made my 6 month appointment and I'll be back. Check them out if you need a new dentist.

I have an unnatural fear of teeth, mouths in general. I know no one "likes" to go to the dentist, but I have a severe fear of it due to my mouth phobia. I can't say enough great things about Parkfield Family Dental. The entire team consists of happy, positive, high energy, always smiling staff. The atmosphere is upbeat. I have had the best experiences I've encountered at a dental office at Parkfield Family Dental. My procedures have been quick and handled with all the precision and professionalism one would expect from a family dental office. I enjoyed my dental visit? Yes, yes I did. It's typically something that I dread but I can't give enough praise to Parkfield Family Dental. Through and through, it was exceptional. Yes! I am so glad that I found Parkfield! My appointment was with Dr. Patel and he is amazing. He went over my X-rays and concerns in detail and answered all of my questions. I haven't been to the dentist in a long time and I needed a more thorough cleaning than normal. Dr. Patel took his time and didn't make me feel like my cleaning needed to be rushed (for which I am extremely appreciative). I feel like I have a whole new set of teeth! All of the staff at Parkfield were wonderful and I look forward to seeing them again.

Love this place! Dr. T and all the staff here are exceptionally kind and friendly. Dr. T has taken great care of my teeth with routine cleanings and helped me handle a dental crisis during my pregnancy with a great outcome. I also just like the laid back, homey feel of the clinic, which helps me feel more relaxed. Highly recommend!

Moving to a new city means finding all your people, but I'm so happy I didn't have to look far for a new dentist. Everyone at Dr. Patel's office is super friendly and it was easy to make an appointment over the phone. Dr. Patel is very thorough and explains the health of your teeth/gums which not every dentist takes the time to do so. Highly recommend - plus their office accepts UT Dental insurance!

As a new resident to Austin I found the task of finding a new dentist a bit intimidating since the one I went to in my previous city had been my dentist for 15 years. After getting a suggestions from some neighbors about Parkfield Dental I decided to give them a try. I found it very convenient that they offer appointments after 5pm, no more taking time off work to take care of my teeth. The check in process was very easy and quick, I got all my paperwork done, x-rays and was in a dental chair within 10 minutes of arriving. From the minute I walked in the office, all employees were so friendly and kind! Heather was wonderful at explaining my insurance benefits to me and going over my bill in advance, which made me very at ease. Dr. Patel was so great, and he really took time to explain the ins and outs of the procedure and answer all my questions. The hygienist (Marie?) was super sweet and did an excellent job as well. Awesome experience! I was nervous about seeing a new dentist but Dr. Tijerina was great! My husband saw Dr. Patel and he was great as well, both dentists are very knowledgeable and personable!!! We both needed some work done and they were able to start it at the same Appt. and that's a great help since it's hard to take time off work, they also open late Tuesday which is awesome!!! Dr. Tijerina is hands down the best dentist I've ever had. I put off going to the dentist for about five years *gross* due to extreme anxiety. From the moment I walked in, I was put at ease by the adorable office manager who also worked as a dental assistant. They explained everything in great detail, starting with the x-rays and had me laughing and comfortable by the time I was in the chair. Great dentist!! I would definitely recommend. AND they don't do any unnecessary work. If you want an honest assessment, without any up-selling like you get at the corporate owned chains, then come here to these gents. When I find a dentist that I like, I will follow him or her around to wherever they work. I followed Dr. T here. Friendly staff who are great at communicating and working with your insurance if necessary.

Both Dr. Patel and his staff were incredibly friendly and easy to talk to at my first visit to Parkfield! Making the appointment was simple; there was no waiting, and everyone was courteous. My x-rays and cleaning were done efficiently and gently -- no complaints at all! Dr. Patel was friendly and informative and any questions I had were well answered. Looking forward to my next visit to Parkfield in six months!
