Kundalini Yoga is a combination of movement, breath (pranayama), meditation, and chanting. Its goal is not only to make the body stronger and more energetic, but also to increase your level of self-awareness and consciousness. The Kundalini is untapped energy, coiled at the base of the spine. This energy can be drawn up through the body, awakening each of the seven chakras.
Vinyasa literally means to move something into a position. Generally, people use the words "vinyasa" and "flow" synonymously in yoga. The term refers then, to moving in a continuous flow from one posture to the next in a series. Our Vinyasa classes are inspired by the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra.

Nirguna means free of limitations. I don't know how this studio survived the pandemic, but I'm glad that it did. There are so many options now, and you no longer need to leave your home to get a good workout. I made the out-of-the-way drive to this studio, passing three others along the way, because of the people who run this place (highly trained, world class, salt of the earth), of the thoughtfully constructed space (they set the degree of hotness in the hot room to heal you not kill you), of the course and scheduling options (fit my needs), and of the fact that it feels good to practice in a

I have taken many classes here and what a lovely variety they have! All the the teachers have been very helpful, skilled and knowledgeable in many branches of yoga. You can learn way more then just about posture here! I am grateful and appreciate this spiritual space. I've enjoyed the students energies as much as the instructors. Hands down the best place to practice yoga in Albuquerque. The owners and teachers are the real deal, highly trained and experienced. The studio space itself has been beautifully renovated from when it was under previous ownership. It now feels calm, clean, and modern but still warm and inviting. They are starting to offer affordable daycare services during certain classes which is a huge bonus! I highly recommend Nirguna Yoga, whether you’re new to yoga or have been practicing for years.

Nirguna Yoga is an amazing studio! They offer hot yoga, not hot yoga, and even offer childcare during some of their classes. Their teachers are experienced, and caring, and the space is clean and welcoming. What I love about this studio is that everyone fits in. Whether you're an experienced yogi or brand new to yoga, you'll be sure to find yourself at home at Nirguna. They offer opportunities to grow your yoga practice off the yoga mat, and in your mind. This is by far the best yoga studio in Albuquerque. Nirguna has the rare combination of great teachers with deep knowledge and a beautiful space to practice in. The teachers pay attention and help you better your practice in a hands-on way. Beyond that, they really welcome all types of people and treat everyone like family immediately upon meeting. As a bonus: there are nice showers stocked with everything you need!
