We are very excited to have you join us! We are here to help you with anything you need to make your studio experience an enjoyable and beneficial one. Now, let's get you started!. Beginning a new exercise program involves learning new movements, technique, and terminology. Therefore we find clients experience the greatest success when they begin with Private Sessions.
Private sessions utilize our professional studio equipment for the most dynamic and progressive movement experience possible. During one-on-one Private sessions, each session is adapted to the client's individual needs. The pace and exercise selection is customized and can range from gentle and therapeutic, to vigorously challenging and intense.
Once known as "Yoga for Dancers", GYROKINESIS exercise is an important component of the GYROTONIC methodology, which is in fact Yoga in Motion. While GYROKINESIS exercise involves equipment; GYROKINESIS exercise is practiced during floor classes using a mat and a stool. GYROKINESIS exercise incorporates many key principles taken from yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and tai chi, though it is not based on these or other specific exercise models.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous 5-star reviews. Yelena, a former professional ballet dancer, is a master gyrotonics/gyrokinesis technician and instructor. She takes the time to get to know her students, their bodies, strengths, challenge areas, and goals before designing highly individualized and effective workout sessions. Yelena is an exceptional instructor. She is a master of her craft - I always feel I am getting the best therapeutic and challenging workout combined. She is very knowledgeable and gifted at describing and demonstrating subtleties of movement to isolate muscles. I feel 15 years younger! I started Pilates with Solara Jean about three months ago, twice a week every week. I used to go to the chiropractor every week for my back but not anymore! My chronic back pain is gone! Prior to Solara's expert, unparalleled tutelage, I had injured my rotator cuffs weight lifting about 18 months ago. I could not lift my arms straight over my head without pain. After one month the pain was gone and I have regained full mobility! Yelena is the bomb! She is an incredible resource to help get your fitness back on track. She is a unique balance of utilizing her artistry and intuition with her extensive knowledge of the body and how it works. I learn something from her about my body with every session. Gyrotonics has helped me feel 10 years younger and improved my paddleboarding and surfing. Even better this is exercise that can be done for the rest of my life. I can not recommend Motionlabpdx highly enough.

I am so glad I discovered this gem. I have adrenal fatigue and finding exercise that is energizing vs draining had been a challenge. The gyrotonic/gyrokensis instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. An added bonus is she really understands how adrenal fatigue affects the whole system and even on days when I didn't think I could do anything at all she adjusted the exercises so I always left feeling much better. I had a session with Solara the Pilates instructor and she is also phenomenal. I highly recommend checking out what this place has to offer!

Hollywood area. The studio is a great space and Yelena the owner is a

Oh my goodness I LOVE Gyro! I have been training as a bodybuilder since 2008 and have lost some of my flexibility. I worked with Yelena and continue to train on gyro as a compliment to heavy weight lifting and it is AMAZING! Yelena truly knows what she is talking about and has all of my respect as a trainer. Like so many, I have struggled with weight loss and sticking to an exercise routine my entire adult life. In the last 6 months I have lost over 50 pounds and intend to keep it off. After having various abdominal surgeries and shoulder surgery it has been difficult to find something gentle enough yet challenging enough to provide a real workout. Then I was introduced to the GYROTONIC Method and Yelena Foley at MotionlabPDX. My initial consultation was thorough, she assessed my abilities and was able to create a routine that was comfortable yet challenging. It reminded me of a mix of ballet and swimming

Yelena Foley is an excellent gyrotonics trainer. She inspires me to push myself (carefully) into greater flexibility and strength despite old injuries and a recent bout of sciatica. I would not be able to enjoy taking Zumba classes if I was not working with Yelena. When I first started with her, I was so physically out of shape that any aerobic exercise was out of the picture. She helped me change my life and approach to fitness. I no longer suffer from lower back pain and if I do have any odd pains we work together on making it better.
