The Canal Street Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. From the beautiful Christmas garland hanging on the front porch when we first pulled up, to our warm hug goodbye from Innkeeper Julia upon departure, every moment of our stay was perfect. The breakfast was phenomenal, the ambiance and decor sent us back in time, and the bed was heavenly. We truly felt like family guests as opposed to 48 hour visitors from out-of-state. Julia made our stay so special with her recommendations, attentiveness, and warm demeanor. My husband and I were also able to utilize the gym in the basement, which includes

My husband and my families stayed at the Canal Street Inn for our wedding weekend. It was the first time everyone met, and we wanted to find a spot people could relax and hang out. It was perfect. Monica and her team are so kind, smart, and interested in creating the perfect experience. I am so happy we chose the Canal Street Inn for our family for the weekend to stay.

Easy to get to all the sights with the streets car and there was free parking. The room was clean but I didn't like being in the basement so may try to pick a different room next time. Staff was friendly and the breakfast crepes were very good. The house has a lot of old world charm.

Spent the weekend here with my daughter. Beautiful house with tons of character and charm. Room was a nice size and we had everything we needed. Every single person we encountered who worked there was super nice. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect amount of food for a great start to the day. I did like that this just a tiny bit away from the center of all the busier areas, but was close enough, and the trolley is literally at their front door, to get you where you need. There were a couple places a few blocks away we walked to for dinner, both were great...Katie's and Vessel. Had a great

We were in New Orleans for a family event and booked 5 rooms at the Canal Street Inn. The inn is lovely. It was nice to have all our family in a more intimate setting than a big hotel. The food was good. The staff members were attentive. We had a cocktail hour one night in the parlor. The appetizers were great for that event as well. I would recommend the inn, especially for family events in New Orleans.

My wife and I spent a week at the Canal Street INN. Staff where very pleasant and always interactive. The Owner is a "Gem" , she was always available, polite and was happy to assist in recommending places to go and or see. I was attending a professional conference while in New Orleans, she always had a to go breakfast for me since I needed to be downtown very early in the morning. When I was out at the conference the owner was helpful with assisting my wife on going on short explorations to see some of the sites in and around the city. Very convenient location with the street car stop right out

The house is gorgeous and the furnishings compliment it so well. The bed was firm yet comfortable, and the sheets were super soft. The rooms upstairs were very private and quiet. Breakfast was so delicious; I could tell the ingredients were fresh. We looked forward to waking up and eating it every morning. Monica was a superb and gracious host who was available to answer any questions or help out in any way. Everyone did social distancing, sanitizing, and wore masks, and yet we were able to meet and befriend a couple from South Carolina. This was because the ambiance of the house was so cheerful

Made the reservation on the drive to New Orleans, my hometown. The process for checking in--even if staff is not there to greet you-- was seamless. It's down the street from my old high school (Warren Easton) and a great location. I had enough of Metairie, Kenner, CBD, Quarter and wanted to try something new. Glad I did this is my new go to location!

When the wife and I visit Nola, we ONLY stay at Canal Street Inn. Why? Because it's the best around!

Clean, welcoming, charming, great food...this place has it all. I could go on for pages about the soft beds and great location (just steps away from the streetcar that'll take you wherever you want to go), or about the owner, Monica, who's always happy to accommodate your needs and make you feel like family, or about the delicious home-cooked food you get each morning.

Suffice to say, you won't find a better deal or a nicer hotel offering great lodging this close to Nola&apos

We rented out the entire property for a party. This is a gorgeous property. The rooms were so clean and elegant. All of our friends absolutely loved how charming the place was. The staff was so friendly and worked with us on what we wanted to do for the party. We really appreciated how flexible they were. They went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. I recommend this place if you want an authentic New Orleans place to stay that's elegant, personal, and away (but close and easy to get to) from the busy quarter. The location is in mid city with a street car stop right

Outstanding stay at the Canal Street Inn. Gorgeous, historic mansion, located directly across the street from a street trolley stop. Innkeepers Michael and Monica were great - informative, knowledgeable, friendly. Rooms were spacious and beautiful, stained glass windows, antique furniture - but still had the modern convenience of what you want in a hotel room with flat screen cable TV, air conditioning, etc. Breakfasts were different, delicious and filling everyday.

Would certainly stay here again in the future and recommend to any New Orleans tourists. Great place to stay!

This was hands down the best experience I've had at a hotel/accommodations, and I've stayed at five star hotels like the Ritz.

The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. Monica and Michael are amazing, friendly, and knowledgable. You feel like you're home the second you check in. The rooms are well kept, and have everything you need, even a chi flatiron!! Everything this B&B purports to be, it is, plus some!!

It was my first time in NOLA and I fell in love with the city and this house. I will be visiting again and will stay here without hesitation.

Fair warning, this might be a long review!

Where to start, I have no idea. From the moment we placed our bags in the front entryway of Canal Street Inn, we knew that we had landed somewhere special. This place is insanely gorgeous.

Let me begin by saying that my boyfriend and I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. We planned our vacation weeks in advance, and decided that we wanted to do some things that we had never done before. We decided to take the train into NOLA and figured that we'd spend five days at Canal Street Inn to up the romanticism a bit. My significant other

We had our wedding reception in the garden at Canal Street Inn (around 100 guests) and it was PERFECT!!! I cannot say enough how beautiful the setting was, how accommodating Monica, Teresa, and Dawn all were. Monica helped with pre-wedding set up in terms of table/chair rentals, where all our food stations, bar, cupcakes, etc. should go. It was wonderful to have her there as a guide and to help day-of.

The memories I'll have from our reception are wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot.

Thanks!!

This is an utter gem, if you want to dissolve into classical revival architecture this is the place. It is like stepping on to the set of Gone with the Wind.

The building is decorated opulently with period pieces from the early 1900's, it was owned by a wealthy widow of a sheet metal baron.

A lazy dog stretches out in the hall, nonplussed by the guests. The history of the place is fascinating and the rooms pull you in and tempt you to become the next Tennessee Williams or similar artistic geniuses from the South.

There are orange trees in the parking lot... I challenge anyone not to fall
