Dr. Shaun Sigurdson graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then completed dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After receiving his DDS, he moved to Dallas and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Baylor College of Dentistry.

We have been so impressed. We used them for dentures for my dad. They were able to help him understand why it was important for his gums to heal completely before fitting for dentures. Went to them again for my mom. They could have done the work, but it was not in her best interest. They provided a referral and they still answered any questions that came up, even if she was not a Current patient.
Then my sister needed dental work and we went back. She is mentally delayed and has special needs. Dr. Patel was patient and allowed for her to express all her qurstions without rushing her.

I was very impressed with Dr. Shaun Sigurdson's knowledge of my somewhat unusual condition of external cervical absorption today and also the thoroughness of his exam and the time he took to explain everything and the solutions recommended. The staff was great, as well, and warm and welcoming. I will be back.

Absolutely the best experience I have ever had in a dental office!! From checking in to checking out there is nothing I would change. The entire staff was incredibly kind and personable. Dr. Patel is AMAZING!! To say he was extremely thorough & thoughtful is an understatement. I never once felt like he was rushing to the next patient. He took extra time to explain everything & care to make sure I was 100% comfortable. Thanks to Dr Patel and staff I will actually look forward to my dental visit.

New dentist! Lakewood Dental was a breeze to contact and arrange a check-up. Dr. Patel was clear in our discussions and like the rest of the staff is so friendly and professional. I started seeing Dr. Patel when he was in the heart of Lakewood just starting out with the new practice. When I first called I was very surprised that the Doc answered the phone to take my appointment. He asked questions to get to know me, made me feel super comfortable, and actually seemed like he cared about the client. When I showed up, he backed up the phone call with a genuine care. My first appointment here was such a great experience. Everyone who works here is super friendly, plus they do a temperature check/ covid screening at the front desk which made me feel much safer about going to the dentist during the pandemic. The office is very modern, with so much new technology that my old dentist did not have! Dr. Patel is also an amazing dentist. I have been going to Dr. Sigurdson with Lakewood Dental Group for the past couple years. He has always done an excellent job with being a straightforward honest and professional Dentist. I haven't had to have any work done beyond my two yearly cleans until recently. During my last semi-annual cleaning at his newly built 6-month-old AMAZING office. He told me two cavities I had filled about 6 year ago, from a prior dentist were leaking and the x-rays were showing a cavities growing underneath. This is an update to a review I left 12 months ago.
I have visited Dr. Patel on several occasions over the last 12 months and will soon have some crowns placed over my implants by him.
He and his team have consistently gone above and beyond each time I have visited the clinic.
The clinic recently moved to a new location. It's brand spanking new and very clean. COVID protocols are also in place and adhered to.
I highly recommend Dr. Patel if you are looking for a great dentist.

Dr. Patel is an outstanding doctor and a great person too! I was in Dallas for work and had a dental emergency. Doctor Patel fit me in his schedule last minute and did all he could to help me alleviate the pain. He was professional, thorough and patiently explained the procedure and answered all my questions without rushing anything.

For most people, you either love it or hate it. And I have never been a person to love having someone's hands in my mouth. I have been going to the same dentist for the last 15+ years, and even though I have lived in Dallas for over 4 of those years, I have been driving back home to see that same dentist in attempts to avoid finding a new one here in Dallas. But recently, this dental group, and Dr Patel specifically, came highly recommended to me by my family dentist's son who joined the practice, and I could not be more pleasantly surprised with how my time with them has been so far

I've recently moved to the opposite side of DFW and was tasked with finding new places in the area for my healthcare. Since I take major pride in the health of my teeth and I've went to the same dentist since I was in middle school, having to find a new dental office was a big decision for me. Going to the dentist can be a harrowing experience but I tried Lakewood Dental out as they are in the neighborhood, and I had been slacking on routine checkups. I was not disappointed and they exceeded expectations in terms of accommodating my schedule, making sure I felt at ease, and doing my cleaning. Even filling cavities was a painless experience. I would welcome Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel's capable fingers and tools in my mouth anytime.

A friend recommended this dentist to me, and I'm so glad they did! The location is very nice, and everything was organized and efficient, which made the visit a breeze.
It was apparent that Dr. Patel is super knowledgeable, but I also liked that he explained treatments/options in a way that was easy to understand. He's very nice and easy to talk to. I'll definitely be going back!

I had the pleasure meeting both Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel. These guys are genuine, professional and very caring. They gave me all the options I had and thoroughly explained the pros and cons of each option. I felt very comfortable during the exam and treatment and I could not wait to go back and finish the rest of it.
During the treatment, Dr. Sigurdson really took his time and made sure everything was perfect. That is something rare to find nowadays.
I'd recommend this office to anyone in Dallas looking for good caring dentists!

Dr. Patel is great!!! He is so funny and nice to talk to but also professional and a good dentist. I went in after being told I needed 3 cavities filled by my in network dentist only to have him explain why they were surface level and could be easily managed with flossing. Saved me time and money. His office staff is so welcoming and friendly. All around a great experience! Much better than ones I've previously had.

Quality! Quality! Quality! Went to see Dr. Sigurdson and he was very thorough in his work and explained everything in great detail. He took his time and double and triple checked his work and that really put me at ease. Being a clinician myself, I value attention to detail and that's exactly what he did and if I could rate this higher than 5 stars then I would. Dr. Patel is super personable and extremely proficient in his trade. He is up-front, transparent with the treatment plans and does not over-prescribe.
I've gotten quite a few cleanings and build ups done and each time I received excellent service. The crown work was top notch as well.
