So unbelievably good. The flavors are prominent without being overpowering. The cake is light, fluffy, never dry and the frosting is airy and not at all dense. They aren't overtly sweet which makes it easy to eat more than one! Ube is a must if you haven't had it but there is not a bad item in this shop.

Jennivee's truly is a Chicago gem! My partner got me a purple ube cake for my birthday the first year we moved to Chicago and it has become a tradition to get each other something from Jennivee's on our birthdays ever since. What makes this bakery stand out is its quality and flavors. Ohhhh mama the flavors... talk about some amazing combinations! This bakery was the cutest. They are most known for the purple cake and it was perfect. It's ube flavor and has coconut in it. It isn't sweet but it's savory! Absolutely my favorite cake going forward. The shop is a cute little bakery and the employees are very helpful.

The ube cake is amazing! it's not too sweet, the texture is very soft and velvety. there are also coconut jelly inside. also ordered a chocolate Nutella cake, a bit on the sweet side, but still good, with lots of crunchy hazelnut in the cream. they also have a variety of cupcakes to choose from

Updated review to add more cake photos from the end of last year. The cakes are great! Best cakes in Chicago! There was just one instance where the writing on my cake wasn't great and it seemed runny and messy but the cake wasn't shown to me prior to leaving the shop so I noticed it when I got home but it just happened during that instance the other 2 times the cake writing was fine. Aside from the writing the cakes are always delicious.

I went to this bakery on a whim and was surprised. They have an excellent and diverse selection and are very nice and helpful with selecting options. My partner and I decided to buy 6 cupcakes so we could try more flavors. Needless to say we are in love. The best part is his birthday is soon and I now know where to get his cake from.

Jennivee's has the niche and comforting flavors that everyone loves but are not typically available in cupcake form-- ferrero rocher, tres leches, horchata, ube, hummingbird, etc. And they also have the classic flavors too! In comparison to other popular cupcake shops in Chicago like Sprinkles, Molly's and More, Jennivee's brings an elevated, luxurious feeling home cooked taste rather than something that tastes almost mass produced. I haven't had their cakes yet, but I will def be buying one for my next big celebration in Chicago.

Based on a recommendation from our wedding photographer, without ever having visited the bakery, we ordered our cake from Jennivee’s — sight unseen. To our surprise and delight, it was absolutely the best wedding cake we’ve ever seen or tasted.
Gabby was so incredibly responsive and helpful with our order, including a special request for a white cake board (vs the standard silver). They got every detail right, the price was competitive, the delivery was on time, and it was as delicious as it was beautiful. I can’t recommend Jennivee’s enough.

Through my own fault not understanding the online ordering my cake wasn't going to be ready on the day I needed it for a manager's celebration. However the bakery manager Eric was able to work it out and got me the cake on time. It was the Bad and Boujie. That cake is incredible. The raspberry and Champaign mousse is silky smooth and a perfect flavor. Everyone who had it were so impressed by how light the sponge was and how flavorful the chocolate cake and raspberry mousse were together. We all decided that when we need a cake we are using Jennivee's every time.

I cannot recommend Jennivee's enough for any and all cakes, cupcakes, and desserts! I have been a long-time customer and just recently had a custom cake ordered for my mom's birthday. Jennivee's knocked it out… of the park with this beautiful, succulent-inspired cake! It tasted amazing and looked almost too beautiful to eat. I always enjoy my experience with their employees and will continue to be a loyal customer!

My 9 year old at the time put me on to Jennivees Bakery as she loves watching those Bake Off competitions on TV and saw that Jennivee was local. She wanted to go check it out and when she told me Jennivee was Filipino and made Ube cupcakes, I was sold! In terms of the interior, it's alright. There isn't much sitting place but they do have an outdoor patio you can sit in. I remember having a more cute place to sit inside but because of the pandemic, I guess it is more logical to put more sitting areas outside. The food however was very aesthetic. I just had to take pictures of my food for my foodstagram.

I think as a small business, you could make an effort to personally answer the phone or at least give your customers an option to speak to a human at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday.

I was super impressed by the fresh flavors throughout the cupcakes. Each cake tasted hand-made rather than the fine crumb of cake mix. The mango was perfectly balanced to get the flavor without being too tart. The ube was masterful, and not too sweet. The chocolate tres leche was moist and delicious. The chocolate coconut really made both flavors shine. The ube brownie was also balanced to be flavorful, but not too sweet. A delight for the mouth when most other cupcakes only look pretty.

Ordered cupcakes for a party and what a big hit! Picked 4 different flavors and one worker was extremely kind enough to give a tiny sample of a couple. Everything tasted heavenly that it was honestly hard to narrow it down to 4 flavors.

Jennivee’s BAKERY did such an amazing job designing the cake design I wanted for my sons 1st birthday!!! I am highly impressed and would highly recommend there bakery!!! Her team was very very good through the… whole process..they delivered my cake at the venue at a timely manner and I am out of worlds for the best customer service they provided.. the cake was very very delicious !! I've had way too many slices here and their ube cake is the best in Chicagoland - this is undeniable, indisputable and this statement clearly has merit. Please let me know if there's another ube cake that comes close.
