Avoid at all costs.
Throughout my lease, I have sent dozens of emails and messages to 21 Apartments, but have not received any replies to questions or complaints. It is impossible to get a hold of anybody.
They are now trying to withhold damage and cleaning fees from my deposit, claiming I caused damage to a unit that I never even moved into.
21 Apartments does not care about tenants and will absolutely try to scam you out of your money.

I don’t even know where to begin with 21 Apartments. I’m totally dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Aside from the unsightly trash strewn around outside the dumpster and consistently broken security gate, the worst part by far is the hidden fees. We were consistently charged overages for utilities - even when the… apartment was vacant in the summer. Upon terminating the lease, we were charged over $500 in cleaning fees and damages after only renting one year. Literally any place in Starkville is likely better than this one! I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Amenities are great. Unlike a few other places in Starkville the pool is never crowded! Nice pool with a beer pong table built in & lights that change colors at night in the pool. Rooms are spacious & apartment is located right across the street from campus. Maintenance is quick with any problems & staff is very nice! I will definitely be renewing for next year!

21 Apartments is a decent place to live. I like the closeness to campus. The maintenance crew works hard to keep things working, and they aren't the "evil" maintenance people you normally hear about. The office staff stays fairly communicative which is nice to stay up to date on things. When I first started living here the prices were better than… most other complexes, but now they have gone up. They also tend to claim "this is the lowest price" when signing a lease but then a few months later, rent can be significantly cheaper. So just wait to sign if you want to live here. Overall it works

Poor maintenance, but it is convenient. Its suppose to be smoke free but there hasn't been a day that my apartment didn't smell like smoke. Upon moving in my room was trashed. Covered in dust from the ceiling to the floor...literally. The walls were dirty and there were gnats through out the house. They do not prorate rent apparently, which sucks. So happy my lease ended!

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I lived here for two years, but wanted to move after the first three months. I called the cops 3 different times because of multiple shootings in the area. I never felt safe walking my dog around. Maintenance never shows up on time and they left my washer broken for a week and a half before they finally fixed it. Management is very unprofessional and forgets everything so nothing ever gets done. And when you move out, they'll charge you hundreds of dollars for things that were already broken before you moved in. This is literally the worst apartment complex I have ever lived

I wish I could give this place a zero. They did nothing to keep the property in repair. The screen was off his front window the day he moved in, and never replaced. Lights and smoke detectors did not work. The area behind the building looked like a junkyard. The day we moved out, there were buzzards back there, I kid you not. The worst was the complete lack of respect offered by the management. My son moved out in August. I tried to login to his account to pay his final bill, and the account was closed. Fine. Then last week, I get his final bill, which included charges for cleaning things

4 stars. You pay for convenience, it's an easy walk to campus. It comes furnished which makes it an easy move in. The internet is actually pretty good for a big apartment complex. They run MaxxSouth 50 Megabits which makes gaming functional. Only thing is that they do not alot enough money for the utilities. The ammount that they have is not really enough to house 4 adults. The only time we didn't have an overage was in the winter months when we were not running the AC or heater. In the summer we had $25 each for overage.
The pool is nice, they just got new chairs to go around it. The

Lived there for a year in a 3 bedroom. Management was AWFUL. We had black mold that they denied until we got a lawyer. They finally replaced our drywall in the pantry after it ruined all of our food and dishes. We had our apartment professionally cleaned prior to moving out. They still withheld our deposit and charged us for "repairs". My advice would be to find a one-owner home and rent it for the same (or a better) price. These large apartment complexes don't give a crap about their tenants. It's all about their money.

I have been living at 21 Apartments for 6 months now and have been quite pleased. The location to school is great considering I ride my bike everyday. There isn't a lot of noise and partying in my building, but the parking is sometimes slim (especially at night). The parking spots are pretty small if you have a full size truck. The gate is kind of annoying when you have to stop and wait for it to open when it isn't already open. The 4 bedroom classic we were assigned was very similar to the base model we were shown. I signed with 3 friends so I can't comment on their assigning process

I have lived at 21 Apartments for my entire sophomore year and now coming into my junior and senior year. I live in a 4 bedroom apt with each having their own bathrooms. You cant beat the location since it is literally across the street from campus and you can always walk no matter what time of day (as compared to walking back and forth from the Pointe at MSU where it does get really sketchy looking after dark walking after dark).

My son needed a place to live due to the large incoming freshman class of 2015. He selected 21 Apartments based on the proximity to the school, the vacancies offered and the model we toured during spring break. The club house/lobby were so clean and well kept, so I thought initially this would be the case for all apartments. Rude awakening!
He ended up with the 4bedroom model. When we moved in during the fall, the apartment had empty alcohol bottles that were left as souvenirs' on top of the kitchen cabinet's :- / The screen sliding door was left hanging off the hinge and falling over
