Bolivar Restaurant & Lounge
Founded in 2007, everything started with the simple idea of representing different cultures, plates and drinks from South America. Bolivar became a place with a unique and interesting Menu and Drinks. Unique, relaxing, chic decor to match our food and drinks in a festive latin ambience. Bolivar showcase the traditional South American cuisines in the dish presentation combined with a contemporary eclectic dining room.

We were staying few doors down and could not have been more pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the meals offered. Authentic South American dishes. You will not be disappointed. Eat at the bar or dine at the table.

You will not be disappointed! The food was beyond my expectations and the staff very attentive. Sabrina, my server, answered all my questions about the full description of the menu selections. Drinks were also on point. I will be visiting this establishment on my next visit to Miami.

Currently sitting here and I want to cry. Its mine and my partner's last night here before we head back home to California. Coming here and getting a platter to share was the BEST decision we made all weekend. We got the plantains, shrimp, steak, tequeƱos, empanadas....everything is delicious. And service is excellent. I am a happy (and full) camper. Melody, our server, went above and beyond to ensure that we had an excellent dining experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This was actually a backup dinner plan when our original target didn't have any outdoor seating. It looked a little empty, but we were kinda early for Miami Beach. The high Yelp rating made me stick to the plan. And glad I did, the food was delicious and kinda unqiue!

Pulpo Boquillero: Very unique appetizer, was not expecting this. There's quite a few bits of tender grilled octopus in this mix. But a lot of places will serve you grilled octopus as an appetizer. What makes this dish unique is that it's like a warm salad with just the right pairing of vegetables and sauces.

Sad day for me as today this place brought a huge disappointment for me nothing to what I experienced last time here check my previous review below but today A)the waiter was rude B) the soup was great c) whenever I order an empanada they never told me they were going to bring me 3 and THEY WERE SUPER HARD they fried them a lot I didn't say anything because the major attitude everyone has here, I'm just venting on this review for experiences like this places like this end up closing.

We are vacationing in South Beach and found Bolivar on Yelp. Despite the great reviews, the restaurant was empty so we were a little nervous.

We realized that we probably beat the crowd to dinner by eating early at 7pm. The food and service were excellent.

We recommend the soup Crema de Camarones , the Arepa with beef and cheese, and the Mariscos Ajillo Criollo.

Maria is an attentive and friendly server. She helped us understand the menu because we aren't familiar with South American food.

Food is amazing but...The shrimp cream soup comes without a side, no rice, no bread. Bandeja Paisa came without Avocado and that's a CRIME!!!. I have to admit they have the best ChicharrĆ³n I have ever tried but definitely not worth of slow service. Water costs 9$ a coke is cheaper at 4$. Service is very slow!!! We got hot sauce we asked for after our food was finished. BTW, they charge 25% tip and some special fee for Christmas...

We went to this place based on all the high star reviews. However the place is very pricey for the ambiance and food it serves.

It could be that the owner needs to charge that much due to the location , but I feel there will be competition soon which will be able to offer the same service at much more reasonable cost.

Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Cool decorations. Food was okay (not worth $50). Ordered a Bandeja paisa and asked that the steak be well done...and as you can see in the picture, it was bloody. They IMPOSE an 18% "service fee" which is an imposed tip. I support good tipping, but shouldn't be forced to pay a certain amount, especially if the place gives bad service (which wasn't the case here). So for the platter and 2 juice drinks we paid $50 including taxes, tips and fees. Not coming back here!

We went on Christmas Day and it is open. Overall very good. We spent 160 in total, and we ate them all.

Blood Sausage is sausages made with meat and blood. The putter is fried to crispy. Not bad.

Coconut Rice is fantastic! I like it! It comes with the fried fish. It is served in a coconut shell. You can taste the coconut sweet.

Fried Fish is great. No flavor except salt. The whole fish is fried to crispy but not burnt. It looks beautiful as well. The meat tastes fresh. It is a traditional Colombia dish.

Brazilian steak is not so good. It is cooked as medium but still very hard to chew. Tougher

My wife and I went here while on vacation because it had a lot of good reviews. After our experience we have no idea how this restaurant got such good reviews. The service was fine. Not exceptional, not terrible. The food was not good. We spent about $30 per entree and I felt like we couldā€™ve made the same meal at home and it wouldā€™ve tasted significantly better. We only ordered water to drink and when we got the bill we noticed they charged us $12 for the water, claiming it was Evian, but it was clearly tap water. We have no problem drinking tap water, just donā€™t want to pay $12 for it.

Amazing place. Highly Recommend if you are in Miami Our Server Luis was very professional. I Was celebrating my aunt birthday and they play a very topical Latin song. And all the staff sang together for my aunt.
We order agua de florero. It was so good. The pork belly or ChicharrĆ³n was so crispy. They have different type of Latin food. From Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and more.

This was the first place we went to eat & the food was impeccable letting every taste bud dance to its flavor.
Miguel took care of his with his rich, deep voice describing the cocktail and dinner menu. We got the Agua de Florero (Rum, Vodka, Gin, Tequila & Triple sec Combined with an strawberry, lime & mint syrup) which was beautifully ornate with flowers in a tall vase like glass.
Then we enjoyed Ceviche Bolivar, shrimps marinated in an exotic citrus lulo juice served with yuca fries along with the Bandeja Paisa, a traditional colombian platter of char-grilled steak, crispy pork belly, caramelized

Service: 4/5. Our waitress wasn't as attentive and forgot about my drink; I had to constantly eye her to get her attention.

Ambiance: 4/5. It gets really dark inside at night, and can get really loud too.

Food: 2/5. None of us really liked our food. But the cocktails/drinks were really good.

Not sure if I would want to come back...

My wife and I decided to head into the city around 10pm on a Sunday night and everything was closing soon. After walking around for 10 minutes we ran into this Colombian restaurant. It was an unexpected treat. The food, drinks, and service was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Colombian food.

This is the first time I am giving a restaurant 1 star review. I am very understanding of different circumstances even if the food is not too great but for me, the behavior of the staff team has to be nice and friendly. Unfortunately, here the behavior of the manager completely bummed me out.

It was a Saturday evening when I went here with 3 of my friends for dinner after a long hectic day. Just like anyone else, we wanted to eat some good food and have a chill night. None of us wanted to drink alcohol that evening so we ended up ordering virgin cocktails and soda.

The first thing that I despised

This is deserving of five stars because the flavors were so yum!

We went during an off time of day so it was not busy at all. As a matter of fact we were one of two tables inside and maybe two outside. The smell inside wasn't fantastic, the interior was dark but interesting. We were greeted right away and of course used my Yelp check in for a free shot. It was a digestive so probably better after a meal.

We got the chose 5...or 7 platter, forgive me it was Miami and the drinks were flowing. We had fried cheese, blood sausage, some more sausage, some other things and the dipping sauces

On the search for a great restaurant in Miami, Bolivar came highly rated through a number of platforms. Located in bustling Miami Beach, it was close to where we were staying and a fun choice to try some new cuisine.

We were welcomed warmly and quickly seated for dinner. When our server I quoted about drinks, I learned that any of them could be made as a mocktail. I chose "El Libertador", which arrived and turned the colors of the Colombian flag when our server poured a shot of blue into it. It was delicious! My husband got the "Agua de Florero" after the waiter said that
