Utah Imports is more than just a family business, we are active members of your community. In 1954, Wilhelm and Christel Keller emigrated from Germany and founded Utah Imports, specializing in Audi and Volkswagen vehicle repair and service. In 1990, their son Jeff relocated the original business to our larger State Street location.
Continued success and strong business growth led to the opening of a second location on Herbert Avenue in 2010. While still the premier independent specialist for Audi and Volkswagen vehicles we've always been, over the years we've expanded our expertise and specialization to also include Subaru, Volvo, BMW, and Mini Vehicles.

Services
At Utah Imports, parts and labor carry a 12 month warranty. If you aren't satisfied, we will make it right - we are that confident of our service centers and technicians. And ladies - our waiting rooms are clean and comfortable, take a look! We offer pre-purchase inspections. We can also provide a computerized services history for vehicles serviced by Utah Imports.
My check engine light is on, what does that mean? If the check engine light is on, constantly or intermittently, the computer in your car has stored 'codes' indicating a malfunction which could lead to engine damage. You should have this checked as soon as possible. Reading and resetting the codes can be done by anyone with a simple scanner but interpreting and testing these codes requires advanced diagnostic equipment.

My grandmother took her car to this shop. They charged her 2000 dollars to allegedly fix what she went there for. Well when she got the car back i looked it over (Side note: I am a mechanic for over 10 years and i just didn't have the time to personally do the job.) But after looking it over they actually charged her for work they never did and didnt fix what the car actually needed. I feel horrible because i should of done the work and this happened. They actually charge you 200 dollars to turn a screw and tighten it. I pray no one else has to experience this kind of situation and Utah Imports

Took our 2006 Volvo there after being told it was not worth fixing by another repair shop. We were super happy with their level of knowledge, what was essential in fixing to make the car safe, how quickly they made the repairs and the price! We will definitely use them again!

I can't believe I've waited this long to review Utah Imports. I started using them about 18 years ago when we bought a 1991 Vanagon and started needing work on it and on my 1999 VW Passat. I can't recall all of the work they've done on both of these cars, but I have always been very pleased with it. I've gotten to know all of these guys over the years. Their prices are reasonable and the work is amazing. My Dad brought his Passat in to them when he was visiting because his check engine light starting blinking and they managed to get him in and fix the issue. I've taken cars to them that I was thinking

Hans and Jim at the other location were absolute life savers! My 2013 VW Jetta had been doing a crank no start intermittently for months (with no check engine light or codes) but no mechanic was willing to work with me to find the solution. The guys at Utah Imports were the ninth mechanic shop I went to and they were able to diagnose the issue and replace the part promptly. Hans had all of the equipment and knowledge to help! I was so grateful to get it sorted (finally!!). I had driven down from Canada on vacation and once the issue was fixed, I could confidently continue on my road trip :) I 100

One of the best places to take your Volkswagen or Audi in Salt Lake City. The staff are friendly, diligent, and hard-working. They get the best OEM parts for all of their repairs, and their turnaround times and prices are very competitive compared to the other options. Would definitely recommend over almost every other place in SLC.

It is rare to find someone pickier than I am about their cars. But the guys at Utah Imports are an finicky about their work as I am. I've been to many European shops in the valley. Lot's of nice people, but over promise, under deliver and charge more than they deserved. Utah Imports is different, in a great way. My car is always done when they say it will be, almost always they call me before I call them, and my car is always cleaner after they are done than when I dropped it off. If not talking about a quick spray and dry, it is usually fully detailed. And they always come in at or below their

Utah imports has taken care of my car(s) for many years. They are friendly and highly professional. Their work is excellent and their prices are reasonable. They go beyond repair and maintenance, for example, today I dropped by for a battery for my car key which they took care of at no cost. I also had them check my undercarriage and they did a temporary fix that will last until the next time I bring my car in, again at no cost. I respect and trust their work, I like the staff, and am so glad they have my back. Thanks guys.

These folks are amazing! All the oil and coolant leaked out of my 2002 Volvo while I was passing through from out of town and they fit me in without second thought. They got the work done quickly and at an amazing price. They were extremely transparent and helpful throughout the process. Would highly recommend Utah Imports!

Abstract: 120/100 exceed my expectation and did everything they could in a professional manner and exceptional price. These guys are not your average mechanics but professionals with dignity and integrity.
They performed some MAJOR services on my 2006 mini due to overheating issues and wheel bearing issues. As far as the overheating, I could not find the issue so I asked around online forums and made 10+ calls to shops in SLC area. Marc from Utah Imports told me to have my car down there and let their mechanic take a peek. After an hour or so, Jeff the garage owner performed every diagnostics

My Porsche had been to two other garages and it still wouldn't run. Jeff, the owner of Utah Imports, came highly recommended, by the second shop as an "electrical genius." After going through the immobilizer, ECU and synching everything...the car still wouldn't even turn over. Jeff worked on it on a Saturday...and texted me Sunday to report he had found and fixed the problem. He sent me photos of the wires which the rodents had completely gnawed through. Everything runs beautifully. Can't tell you how happy I am that his shop was recommended. I'll be back to Utah Imports

I had a screw stripped on my license plate and after fighting with it for hours I finally decided to take it to a mechanic. Marc helped me out despite me just walking in with no appointment. He got it off, changed my plates, and cleaned up my rusty screws for nothing! He wouldn't even accept a tip. Seems like a great group and will definitely take my car here for any future repairs.

By far the best shop around that's extremely knowledgeable. Long story short, my clutch went out on my Subaru Outback and these guys did an amazing job, they walked me through what they were going to do and what was bad and had my car fixed and on the road in no time. By far the best Subaru specialist in the salt lake area, I highly recommend these guys!

Couple years ago had some issues with my car. Got it towed in to Utah Imports and they figured it all out, even let the car stay there for a day or two while I was investigating and fighting with the manufacturer about recalls etc. I had them do some work for me then I finished the rest at home. Good guys.

Well my daughter's little VW Bug conked out on her at the U's parking lot. Too far away to be towed back here in Ogden to our regular guy whom we trust a lot. After all, not all mechanics knows how to work on import cars or have the tools to fix it.
Without knowing anything about Utah Imports, I told towing company to bring it to Utah Imports since it is near the U. So far, so good. Guy we talked to on the phone was really nice. They have been very accommodating and kept us updated. We haven't picked it up yet or know what's wrong with it. Keeping our fingers crossed. Will
