We were on vacation in newark New Jersey, and found this salvadoran restaurant. We went friday night and tried the pupusas they were really good. Especially las de arroz and the ensalada juice very good taste. We came back on sunday morning for breakfast because the pupusas were really good, we spent 110$ in breakfast in 8 people then i saw the Owner Alex came to our table telling us we need to tip our waitress and we already have our tip on the table after we finish eating we order an uber because we need a ride to the airport uber takes around 15-20 mins to arrive then the Owner came again and

Loved the food here! The waitress was also super nice and helpful in finding what me and my friends would probably enjoy eating. I've never been to a Salvadorian restaurant, which may cause my score to be higher than it should, but this place was great!

It was my first time at las canastillas. I am giving 2 stars because of the decorations of the place which was pretty cool. I cannot attest to all the food because I only had pupusas and tamal de elote. My favorite pupusas are las revueltas, and I did not like the ones at this place at all. Normally, pupusas revueltas have all the ingredients mixed together, but at this place, the ingredients were separated and therefore it felt like just eating pork or beans. Also, the revueltas did not have cheese, or if did I, I did not even taste it or see it. In my opinion, I would not recommend this place

The cheese pupusa's are awesome with the cabbage and the red sauce. The 3 beef tacos are large and taste great with hot sauce and they have good soup also. Price is very decent. There is parking in the back. The ambience is very nice too. I can't wait to try some of the other food. I looked around and it looks good.

The papusas are huge and stuffed full of goodness. I got the meat and cheese and bean and cheese, I usually have 3 but I couldn't even finish 2! I will be back! The cabbage was spicy with a bite, the tomato sauce was rich. I was just waiting for the car to get fixed and it turned into a late breakfast event!

Best pupusas in the area and maybe even NJ. More expensive than other places but they put a lot of filling so they’re worth the money. They also have soups and other authentic Salvadoran food. The orchata is legit and tastes wonderful
