The tapas here was very good. Decor is nice, the bar was pretty lively for a Wednesday night and the wait staff was great. I love cozy sit downs with warm lighting, a vibing playlist in the background, delicious cocktails and small plates of beautifully made (and tasting) foods. Authentic Portuguese and Spanish food, with amazing caipirinhas to boot.
I didn't order food - it was just drinks - but the plates we saw coming by were mouth-watering, and I'm sure they make killer tapas and picanhas. Their ambience is relaxed, blending traditional taverna-style architecture with a modern twist, and the staff is quite friendly and they take good care of you.
Perfect place to watch a sports match, meet up with friends after work, or grab a hearty meal.

My favorite place for delicate tapas and fancy drinks. Love the vibe, love the quality of the food. Every dish is intricate and complete with details both in presentation and in taste. The quality is unbeatable and worth the price. Sangrias are a must have too. They have so many different flavors to try out. The bar seating are is cozy and there's also a semi outdoor area that's super cute and great for groups. Street parking can get a little tricky during busy times.

On a cold November Saturday, we decided to try some tapas here after a Broadway show. We were seated quickly, and we were served quickly. The tapas menu had a great variety for meat-lovers and vegetarians alike. Everything was delicious.
We were seated in the back area which was quiet and warm. The restaurant had a nice energy but wasn't too loud. Oh, and I really like the two gender-neutral, single-stall restrooms.
Enjoyable from start to finish.

Not sure how this place has 4 stars. The food was not good. The octopus was sliced very thing and smothered in paprika and the mussels were not cleaned well. The broth itself tasted like sink water. The shrimp were the only good thing. The sangria was alright, too.
We got the pork belly special but it was seemed to be old. I took a bite and could tell it wasn't good pork belly... we wanted to try something new but will stick to something more reliable when we drive to Newark next time.

We visited just to get the tres leches and sangria. Both were disappointing, unfortunately. Their tres leches is served pre-made in a jar. The sauce had drenched the cake, and it was much too sweet. Not a fan. The pitcher of sangria we got was too watered down, not juicy enough. We still had a good time goofing off, but this one was a let-down.

We had our father's retirement party here and from start to finish, we had an amazing experience! Francisco was an absolute pleasure to work with in terms of setting up the menu, making changes to the number of guests, and ensuring we had a great experience. Our party was held downstairs in the wine room, which is just perfect for intimate parties like this. We had a variety of DELICIOUS food, amazing drinks, and WONDERFUL service. Guillermo (spelling?) went above and beyond to make sure our drinks were always refilled, plates were cleared, etc.

Terrible. Our food was clearly left out for a long time before they finally remembered to bring it out to us. It was barely warm, almost cold, and we ate it because we were hungry and specifically came here to eat before a show. Our sangria also was forgotten, as I watched the waiter realize we were without drinks for a while and he ran back to get the pitcher. During our meal, my boyfriend had to run to the bathroom; likely because of the food which was probably riddled with bacteria after being out for too long. I witnessed other tables having to wait very long times for the check. Unacceptable

Excellent, standout service. Attentive waitstaff that intuit when you need a drink refill, clear away tapas plates almost immediately and seem very invested in their job - none of the "hey I'm Sam and I'll be your server this evening" song and dance. Excellent food, all ingredients seemed fresh, perfectly prepared. We had just the tapas, no entrees. Nice ambience, will definitely come back.

Came here on a Friday afternoon, and ordered the steak, French fries, and the bang bang shrimp.
It was amazing. We also got the red sangria. I will be honest it was not my favorite. It was too dry.
I will be back, the decor the environment, just the energy here was great!

Food is pretty decent. Tapas style and they do have hearty entrees and salad options. I had the Brussel sprouts and the tuna meatballs with seaweed salad.
The venue is pretty cute restaurant sports bar like with indoor and outdoor seating. Background music and TVs.
Street parking is tough but you can park in lot across the street at other restaurant.
Appropriate for business lunch friend meet up date etc.

Omg this place is AMAZING!!!! My husband suggested to visit here for dinner and boy we were blown away.. Everything from the drinks, to their tapas and their dishes are absolutely delicious!! Best thing about them is that they are fast with their service. Our server was very informative. The bartender is excellent!! Treat yourself to a great meal here, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

The food was absolutely terrible, the meat i ordered taste absolutely horrible and the portion was bad for the price, i told the waitress i was unhappy with my meal and he didn’t even care in making sure i was satisfied. I don’t mind paying $24 for a meal but a least i want good and decent meal and good portion.

For two people - three tapas, two drinks, and dessert added up to around $90
One of the tapas, the peppers just seemed small and underwhelming. Squid ink paella was nice but just messy- beware of some black lips after eating haha
I liked the empanadas though! Probably have to come back and try other stuff.. but not soon, maybe after a few paychecks haha

I have made an almost two hour drive multiple times for the sole reason of dining here. The staff welcomes you like family. They are kind and attentive. I've tried many things on the menu but I'll highlight a few of my faves.
Starting with my favorite drink-The Cucumberbatch
For a few tapas, the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese are to die for!
The calamari is tender yet crisp and pairs so perfectly with a mango sauce that has a slight kick of spice.
The garlic sautéed shrimp is one of the many reasons I keep coming back.

You will either love it or not, but if you do you will clean that dish and not leave a drop behind. The grilled octopus was tender and not rubbery. Flavored just right and served fresh. Mompou is a well appointed restaurant. I went on a nice day so the windows/doors were all open to the sidewalk where there was outdoor seating. There is also a back patio but it was a bit too sunny at that time of day. We sat inside.
We had calamari to start, it was okay though I generally like mine a bit more crispy. The peach sangria was good, though just tiny bit sweet.
My salmon entree was pretty good. The raspberry added a nice sweet touch and contrast. The pea purée was a bit salty.
Tres ledges and churros were a nice sweet touch for dessert. Cant forget the espresso!

Girlfriend picked this spot out for a dinner and it turned out to be a great choice. Their cocktail menu was very entertaining the bi Curious and the ginger smash was delicious. The red sangria wasn't too sweet and good. Seafood was fresh and the tapas were good for picking. Service was great and I'll definitely be back to try more.

So me and a friend stopped by here to get a drink. I made reservations for 7pm. When I arrived I gave the server my name and he allowed me to sit at the bar. We were served by Fabio and he was good. We ordered a pitcher of strawberry sangria which wasn't bad. My friend ordered the mussels and I tried the sauce but wasn't a fan. They also gave us bread and some kind of tomato and oil sauce and while the bread was rock hard the sauce was tasty. The bill came to about $63. We had a good experience and will return.

I loved tapas at Mompou! The food was fresh and delicious. The black paella is flavorful. The stuffed red peppers are to die for. I absolutely enjoyed that dish. Next was the calamari with mango sauce! Crispy and sweet! The servers were attentive and took out orders quickly. The atmosphere is perfect - nice music playing in the background. The bathroom is clean and organized. Perfect size tables and comfy chairs. I loved eating my dinner at Mompou and will definitely come back to try other items on the menu!
