The ground beef is not ground beef. I don't know what it is but it is not ground beef. It is not seasoned the way it used to be either. I used to love this place about 2 years ago. I haven't been since the pandemic. I treated myself for New Year's eve with Doordash because they had Thee absolute best tacos with ground beef- but not anymore. I'm bummed.

First time ordering form this place. Not impressed. 1 item was missing from the order, discovered after delivery. 3 of us ordered the el amigo burrito. Two of us opted for carnitas (a 1 dollar up-charge). But then they take away the sauce and cheese (making a dry burrito instead of a wet). If you want that included you need to pony up another buck fifty. So really if you want to sub in carnitas, its a 2.50 additional for a total of 17. Kinda pricy. Especially for the quality. The meat was over cooked and dry.

One star because 0 isn't an option. Imagine, a mushed, mix, full of low quality cheese, made by someone who has never cooked before in their life. Embarrassing to say the least. Whoever cooked this should be ashamed of themselves. For someone who has never eaten a decent burrito or they want instant "death by cholesterol" and they don't mind mushy texture, you've found your restaurant. I hope the dog will it.

I love eating here & have for years. I use to bring friends from office here. Great food! They have gotten pricey since Covid. They advertise tack out. Because I am handicap I have ordered, paid via phone & parked right outside their door. I can hardly walk & ask if they can bring to me in car. A couple times the lady behind phone did.
I attempted to order food again & when she brought my order to my car, she let me know she would not be able to do this since they are open for indoor dining. They advertise take out. I feel bad I can't do this anymore because getting

HOORAY! They are open again and looking good with a nice remodel. A good lunch with a friend. And the food still as good as before. Service was good and staff were wearing masks. Not as many tables to allow more spacing for customer distancing. One of our favorite restaurants still going after a long Covid closure. Seemed even more friendly than before or was it just great to find it open?

I have been eating here since 1995. I love the food, I love the people who work here. Very friendly. My issue is a couple years ago my takeout lunch cost around 14 bucks. Now that same lunch costs 24 bucks. And part of that price increase is they charge you a credit card fee. I know we're dealing with inflation, but paying 10 dollars more for the same order as a couple years ago seems a little extreme. Trying to be kind. Hope they read this and take it into consideration. I think I've downgraded my patronage to every once in a while with the price hike.

I've probably ordered the Amigo Burrito Supreme a hundred times while at home over the pandemic... and I'll order it a hundred more!! Well spiced chicken, flavorful rice, smooth refried beans, perfectly cooked enchilada sauce, I can't think of a bad thing to say about this at all. I've ordered food to-go, I've dined there in-person, and I've even ordered just a pint of their enchilada sauce so I could use it for cooking at home-- that's how good it is!
People are complaining about high prices in the other reviews?? Well, you get what you pay for, this isn't some flimsy taco with a sprinkling of

Good food, but a bit over priced. We ordered take out through Yelp and it was ready before the time Yelp said it would be! The interaction was in and out and they seemed to be following covid regulations carefully. This wasn't the most flavorful Mexican food we have eaten, but it was definitely good!

I can finally say I have a go to place for the Mexican yums! So far we haven't had a bad experience and I fully believe it'll remain that way.
Please never stop making the ground beef enchiladas they are, for me, THE BEST (next to moms' of course). They just remind me of all the food I had growing up at the different locations in ESSJ and of home. They are delicious. With everything opening up again I can't wait to come in and try more.
Thanks for the delicious.

Ordered this location from doordash for the first time (never been to this establishment in person).
Overall, I was initially surprised by the prices but felt like I shouldn't judge a book by its cover (aka $$$).
This place is apparently known for their wet burritos and after looking through the reviews, our family decided on a variety of items.
El Amigo Carnitas Burrito, Chile Verde Burrito, and Chicken Burrito. One family member doesn't like sauce or sour cream and another family member doesn't eat sour cream as well. I made sure to add these specifics to each order and El Amigo

First time here, decided to get the eponymous 'El Amigo Burrito'. If it's named after the restaurant or vice versa, then it must be good, right? That's what I usually do anyway.
Got a little sticker shock: 13.99 + 1.50 (carne asada) + 1.50 (sauce and cheese) + tax + credit card service fee = ~$20 dollars for a wet burrito. pretty pricey for me, but would have been acceptable if the burrito was exceptional, but... it wasn't. It was very mediocre. Meat was dry and unseasoned. The wet sauce was just bland a little too salty. For the price I hoped for much better.

El Amigo Burrito is my family's favorite place to get crispy tacos in the Bay Area. We travel from Fremont, Menlo Park, and even San Bruno just to eat their tacos, no joke. Yes, their food is THAT good!
Located in a nondescript location at the Woodhams Center, the restaurant is colorful, but simple with modest decor. This hole-in-the-wall eatery houses three dining rooms which can get packed, but we have never had to wait very long to be seated at a table.
Service is always friendly and quick. When we come to celebrate our birthdays here every year, we appreciate their hard work,

My mom and I went to El Amigo Burrito and we both ordered a Chile Verde Burrito each. Both were good sized and very flavorful. Both burritos had some refried beans and filled with delicious pork meat chunks. Green sauce and shredded cheese topped the burrito. We would both order this again, it was that good!
The restaurant would have gotten an extra star, but the service was just ok... On this day, the servers paid a lot of attention to the neighborhood crowd that they seemed to know. No water refills until I asked 3 times. Chips were a little "stale / aired" Salsa was on point.
