First time to visit this korean BBQ restaurant. Before I went inside I saw a group of people lineup in front of the restaurant, so I believe I visited the right one for dinner. :-)

LOCATION: on El Camino Real , which also has a parking lot next to it. However, be careful not to park to the space owned by Motel 6.

SERVICE: Nice and friendly servers there. We reserved a party room for dinner that night, and the servers did stop-by the room very often .

INSIDE: Nice decoration inside, and they do have 2-3 party rooms available there.

FOOD: We ordered marinaded shortrib, prime ribeye steak

The restaurant is clean and the service is great. I ordered "braised short ribs", and it was way too sweet and we couldn't enjoy it. The presentation was beautiful.

I've driven past Chungdam easily over 100 times since moving to the South Bay and have always been curious about it. I've heard great things about them and so we finally decided to try them out.

Parking was such a hassle. I didn't understand why some previous spots had been blocked off by what was outdoor seating that is now unused. It's precious real estate, especially when the lot is shared with the hotel. I believe perimeter parking belongs to the hotel and the rest (which are very few spots) are for Chungdam. Considering the capacity of Chungdam, the parking situation doesn

I've dined at Chungdam a handful of times with my husband and his family. Fancier KBBQ spot: lovely ambiance, great service, and quality food.

The dishes are a little pricier, but the server does cook the meat for you. They'll also refill your banchan when you're done.

Total price for dinner for a family of 6 was around $440: had some meats and the spicy squid stirfry ($49). Meats are in the range of $45-83. No same day reservations, but you can join their Yelp waitlist!

The pictures and reviews of this place all look really good, so I was super excited to try their meats. We came on a Friday night without reservations and waited about 45 minutes to get seated at a table with grill.
Let me start by noting that the service through the whole experience was amazing. As soon as I finished my drink or banchan the server would bring us a refilled plate without us having to say anything at all. She also grilled the meat to perfection.
Now, their meat quality vs the price is definitely not worth it at all. Personally, I'm all for great meat quality and don't

Decided to come here to try their Galbi Jjim. They had a lot of good reviews on Yelp, but we noticed that the reviews were more for their bbq.

We ordered our Galbi Jjim with cheese and we asked for it not to be too spicy. Our food was actually taking a while to come out so I'm glad we had our banchan to snack on while we waited.

One of the banchan that they brought out was one that I actually had never seen as a side before. I think they might have been anchovies. It was really good! A little sweet and salty at the same time.

When our food came out, we noticed that it was...small? If I

Actually quite a delightful experience eating Korean food in the bay.

Way more expensive that usual (the short rib portion was $82, but did include a lot of meat).

Not a huge fan of their banchan unfortunately.

Seafood pancake: beautiful, substantial, and super yummy -- love the crispness and the seafood inside

Kimchi stew: would pass on this next time. Too grainy and not good enough to finish

Short rib with cheese: this item was highly recommended, but I didn't like it very much. For one, it was too sweet and too salty. The meat was very filling, and even looking at it made me full

Crazy expensive for regular meat quality. I did enjoy the soups though but again, it was priced pretty high. The kimchi stew was good but for $20 I expected a whole lot more than the small bowl it came out in. The galbitang ($25) was also good and more filling. It came out in a much larger bowl with about 4 ribs, and some noodles. Honestly, I don't mind paying for a good meal but none of the things I ordered seemed worth the pricepoint quality wise or portion wise.

Great service and great food. The bon chon selection was delicious and the bbq meats were stupendous. Had thin sliced brisket and two kinds of galbi. The quality of the beef was excellent. I love that they cook it for you table side.

Especially loved the spicy cheesy short rib and they were able to make it milder to suit the tastes of the group.

Only downside was the grilled cod. Lots of bones and difficult to eat. The flavor was okay.

Given the prices, this place is great but will be for special occasions or when I feel like splurging.

I've had my fair share of Korean BBQ in California and I'm a huge fan. Chungdam is an upscale spot compared to the AYCE KBBQ joints nearby. This is a place where I celebrared my birthday, but I definitely feel like this restaurant is meant for celebrations all around. They offer private rooms for larger parties, and you can tell the server what you're celebrating. In the past, they gave a macaron cake for birthdays but have temporarily paused it due to COVID.

The difference is ordering a la carte. Each pound of meat is more than enough to feed 2 hungry people and you can always

Although some of the items we originally wanted was sold out, we still enjoyed a delicious experience. Service was in top, servers were so prompt and fast! We did wait around half an hour during the late lunch rush on a weekend, but it was well worth the wait. Food and atmosphere altogether was amazing. I do appreciate that the restaurant offered a lunch menu along with their regular menu. Would return here in the future, so good.

I was pretty bummed this time around as I brought my mom for lunch to show her one of my favorite Korean restaurants. I came on 12/11 around 1pm and it was about a 20 minute wait.
This time around the brisket portion was noticeably smaller (I had pictures from last visit), we received less banchan and our waitress seemed angry when we asked if she could refill it. She also rushed us through the process and before we could finish one meat, she moved it all to a plate on the side and started cooking the suwon galbi. I asked if our meal would come with a tofu soup like last time and she said they

Upon arriving we were greeted and seated right away. From the atmosphere to the aesthetics, everything was immaculate. The price for the meats were pricey. However, the taste, marination and texture was amazing.

Every bite is worth every penny. We've order Suwon Galbi and Grilled Yangnyum Galbi w/ rice and still had plenty of left over. When we received our raw meat, our waitress immediately started cooking. So it's kind of like a KBQQ Benihana's.

We ordered boneless short rib, also called Kalbi, the price was over $80, the meat looked good, but didn't have much taste.
The second dish we had was black cod, $55 , not very fresh and the sauce was too sweet.

This Restaurant looks really nice, a clean dining restaurant, it’s not your common grilling restaurant, waiters wait on you every 15 minutes, they make sure you are okey, they cook your meats and cut them for you. One of the best thing was we didn’t end up smelling like bbq at the end of the meal. We hade beef bone soup, cold soup and bbq ribs, plus the sides. This was more than enough for a person that loves food, their soup was so tasty I was blown away, or was I just so hungry either way I loved it. It was a small birthday dinner for just the party of two and it was good. Thank you for your

While up in the bay my friends and I decided to check out Chungdam and it did not let us down! It's a bit on the pricier side however their meat quality is amazing!! We loved how they had such a wide variety of barchan for us to try. To start off we got the Seafood pancake, which was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The meat was so tender and melted in our mouths. To end the meal they served us a refreshing plum tea. If you're ever in the area and looking to splurge we recommend visiting this spot!

Ordering was quick and easy! They provided us a QR code to scan so we can

The Food
I've been to different Korean BBQ before, but my friends recommended Chungdam Restaurant. It is a more upscale Korean restaurant with BBQ selection. My friends and I ordered their BBQ Selection.
- Seafood Pancake (해물파전)
- Prime Boneless Shortrib (눈꽃살)
- Prime Ribeye Steak (프라임생등심)
- Beef Brisket, Thinly Sliced (차돌박이)
Starting with the side dishes, most of them are pretty good. Though I would say the raw crab is a nice and unique idea, it is hard to eat as a side dish. On to the Seafood Pancake, gotta say it is pretty unique and I enjoyed it. Aside

My fiancé and I went here for our 6 year anniversary with my son and brother in law and it was our first time trying it. The ambience was so nice. Interior decoration was very classy and inviting. Didn't feel like I was in Santa Clara. The hospitality and the customer service was 100%! I felt like I was transported to Seoul with the amount of politeness everyone had.

My family and I are quite particular with the cleanliness of restaurants. One word. This place was clean. One thing I also noticed was the smell of kbbq was almost not present. Grilling meat and not smelling like the food from

Suwon Galbi $74 (16oz): lightly marinated galbi with salt & brown sugar. SO tender. I did have to dip it in the salt to help out.

Prime Ribeye $67 (14oz): Also good as well but not as tender as the Suwon for sure.

Glass noodle $28: Aka Japchae with beef and veggies. Pretty good and flavorful

Braised Black Cod $40: very soft but be careful a lot of

My favorite Korean BBQ place to go to. It is pricey if but their beef or meat just melts when they cook it for you, they do have DIY bbq menu or a menu where you order and they will grill your meat to perfections.

If you are new in Santa Clara or visiting this Korean spot will not disappoint you nor their customer service.

The bbq meat dish is large in amount, so better go with 4+ people so you can taste a variety. The short rib galbi tang is tasty without the need to add extra salt. The beef meat is premium.

Another five star review for one of my favorite restaurants in the South Bay!!!! We went back for indoor dining for the first time in over a year (we'd been outdoor dining there) and it was spectacular! We got our usuals - haemul pajeon, suwon galbi, and yangnyum galbi! We also got the galbijjim and y'all, it was bomb!!!!!! Anyway, make sure you make reservations cause it was packed in there!!! People clearly know good food ;)

Also shout out to Jon for always being amazing!

I was interested in eating here after seeing glowing reviews of this place from some of my friends on Yelp. I'm so glad I finally got to try it with my friend who lives in the area! We got there at around opening time on Saturday for lunch. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. By the end of our meal about an hour later, the wait time to be seated was over an hour! So make sure you come at opening to avoid the crowds.

It is pretty hilarious that there's a Motel 6 next door because it's a huge contrast from the modern, swanky vibe once you're inside Chungdam. The front of
