Moved in to plastered holes in wall then made to pay for it.
Moved in to plaster covered holes in wall. Documented pictures and submitted and called to insure issue was noted. Now in my stay I did cause some scuffs and stains on walls that would call cause for a repaint but due to the fact that the walls were already damaged. I expected no charges. Ultimately was charged for painting the walls. My dispute and the pier responses are below.
Full details:
The company response was as follows:
Per email:
“Paint, per our company policy, if a room requires one or more walls to be touched up for

I put in a maintenance request over a week ago over something high priority and no one has made any effort to fix it. I asked to speak to a manager and they were out, as per usual. I have called the front desk every single day since for the last week, asking for any sort of help, but only receiving vague responses indicating no one would be of assistance. If you plan on living at The Pier, just keep in mind that maintenance will not respond to your emergencies and the manager is never here.

My son has lived there since August 2021. He loves being near his friends. Here is a list of the problems we've had.
1. We paid for a furnished apartment. We were told that it came with a desk, dresser, nightstand, bed, couch. The only thing in the room was a bed. I've been trying to get this resolved since August. Multiple calls and texts back and forth with no progress. No one at the pier seems to want to help or even care. You can't even reach anyone at the office. Just and answering machine. I was told the leasing agent could help me , but she was out on medical and could not be reached. For

My child has been a resident at The Pier for about 3 years. He has loved living here but for the last month he has not enjoyed it as much. He has placed work orders that have not been completed, the trash on the grounds has also been really bad. Amber was nice and friendly when I called and asked for the manager Kat who was unavailable. This explains a lot! I want my son to live here next year but not under these conditions. The only person who cares and helps was Kat and no one else seems to care or call you back. Please spray for bugs! Please pick up the trash! If The Pier wants a renewed lease

I lived here for three years, and the experience was mediocre overall. Management was the absolute worst part of my experience as they are completely incompetent. I had to call and email multiple times to get any issues handled by maintenance or management themselves. They put a random roommate in a vacant room with less than a 24 hour warning. The only reason I lived there as long as I did was convenience. The move-out process has been drawn out, and the charges against me are ridiculous. The location and price are great, but I do not recommend living here if you do not want to be ripped off by

For what we pay for this place, it should sparkle. My son and 5 roommates moved in last month to a FILTHY house. No one bothered to clean it between the last tennants and the new ones. The carpet had spots all over and hadn't even been vacuumed. There was an inch of dust that was caked onto the slats of a hallway door and the oven was filthy. There was a hole in my son's bathroom door and urine all over the toilet, including dried spots under the seat. The front patio had big spots on it and a piece of the trim of the house was missing. The screen on the front window was also missing. The staff

Good value. However, they use "Simple Bills", which makes paying your utilities a hassle every month! Also, you will likely speak with a student worker when you call and if you ask to speak to a manager or higher up, they will tell you that they are out of the office.. that's about as bogus as when McDonald's tells you the ice cream machine is down.

Some of the residents are absolute slobs and disregard Corps of Engineers rules. Beer cans litter the shore of Lake Hartwell in front of the homes, boats are beached for weeks and people are cutting down trees that are blocking their view of the lake.

I want to write a 5 star review for The Pier's amazing leasing and marketing manager, Victoria. I've lived at The Pier for five years, and every interaction I've ever had with her as been positive and so helpful. She's helped me through every bump in the road with a smile and genuine kindness. When I heard she was promoted, I was so excited as she's the hardest working person I've ever seen at the office. I recently dealt with some issues with my housing, and despite the pandemic, she responded to my every concern incredibly quickly. Absolutely incredible service!
