However, this restaurant wasn't owner Francisco Esquivel's first attempt at a Mexican restaurant. In 1997, the original Las Margaritas opened its doors in Poplar Bluff, MO. Esquivel's cuisine was so popular at his first restaurant that he later opened a second Mexican spot nearby called Mayas.
Knowing that we had a lot of fans here in Columbia and after hearing about a potential restaurant space opening up in the Corporate Lake development we decided to expand to Columbia. The space features a large patio and sits adjacent to a manmade lake, which makes our restaurant an ideal spot for relaxing happy hours.

I was stopping by got two soft chicken tacos and a bowl of cut up tomatoes to go. And chips and salsa. It was slow time id say, 3pm, noone was in there. Got it home , which was less than 2 miles. It was not edible. Worst I've ever tasted. I didn't eat it. Never saw chicken look like that before. The soft taco was hard and cold. Couldn't hardly tell they put lettuce and cheese on it . The chips were cold and the salsa wasn't good. Dont eat here! Its terrible.

We go here all the time and usually have the a great experience due to one waitress. The last two times we’ve been there, it’s been terrible. Last time our waitress, the one with red hair, was so disrespectful it was unbelievable. She left us unattended for 30 minutes to talk to a table that wasn’t even in her section. She got our order all wrong and never checked on us after she dropped the food off. THIS TIME there were so many gnats. We were drinking our margarita pitcher and close to the finish, we find gnats IN the margaritas. We explained to the waitress and she said “yeah, we have

I don’t normally do this but here comes a rant……today some coworkers and I decided to eat lunch at Las Margaritas, at Lake of the Woods, like we have done numerous times. Normally we enjoy ourselves but today we had the WORST experience ever, which has definitely has caused us to decide to never go back. The food was fine, and our waiter was fine….BUT the constant swarming gnats were much to be desired. We dealt with it until some embedded themselves into the salad of one of the ladies I was with. When she attempted to say something about it the “manager”, Angelic Lopez (and I apologize

Every experience I've had here has been bad. The food is alright, but the restaurant itself is flawed. The dining room is almost always really loud since it's so open. The waiters/waitresses aren't the kindest. The main issue is the BUGS. There were dead flies in the windowsill, and fruit flies EVERY WHERE. They were getting in our food constantly; we were swatting them away the entire time. Couldn't even finish our meals. We used to go to the other location on the lake, and rarely had issues there. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Love love love it. The place looks fantastic! The help really hustles pretty pretty much all night long. And the food is delicious we love the fact that there are three locations in town. They are always busy when I go, take that the consideration. Las Margaritas Mexican Bar and Grill opened in October 2012.
