Preventative Health Care - At Oak Tree Animal Hospital, we would, if at all possible, rather prevent your pet from becoming ill and avoid the potential financial impact that a serious illness may bring. So we strongly recommend regular wellness examinations, vaccinations and even, spaying and neutering, for all pets that at not going to be bred.
When you come in to Oak Tree Animal Hospital - Tampa, you will only see Dr. Kumar. As your Tampa Veterinarian, Dr. Kumar will be able to personally know you and your pets. This will give him a better understanding of your pet's needs. Communication and consistency tends to be a problem in the larger multi-veterinarian hospitals.
At Oak Tree Animal Hospital we start our days Monday through Friday at 8:30 AM and finish at 6:00 PM. We are open Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Sunday is our day of rest and we are closed. Oak Tree Animal Hospital is located on Armenia Avenue, in the Northwest Tampa area, at the corner of Armenia and Cluster Avenue and is one block north of Sligh Avenue.

We also recognize that we cannot be available 24/7 and at times, an emergency animal hospital referral may be needed. At Oak Tree Animal Hospital-Tampa, we have our clients best interests at heart, both from a purely veterinary medical aspect and also a financial concern.
We want our clients to be able to have the best veterinary medical and surgical care possible for their pets, but we also don't want them to have to incur any unneeded expense, either.We still take responsibility for answering our phone when we are closed. We also take responsibility for our patients that are treated and then discharged and even provide a phone for the client to call, if necessary.

Last year our dog was limping. There was a problem with the hind leg. Since another hospital had suggested a surgery for fixing it we came to Dr Kumar for a second opinion. He made a very honest suggestion to see a board certified surgeon. The surgeon examined the dog and said that we should wait and only if it gets worse, should we think of surgery. So, we waited and after about 4 months the limp started getting better and now the dog has no limp! Thanks to Dr Kumar and the surgeon.
