Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Timothy Hodge, who is a licensed, experienced Tampa veterinarian. Dr. Hodge has a great team of associate veterinarians that help fulfill our goal of providing the excellence in the care and love your family members.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
This let's us record our pet and owners into our management software so that we can effectively and efficiently provide the service you deserve! You can also sign up for our monthly newsletter to keep up on current health issues and news and events in our office. You can print it out and bring it in to our office.
Dr. Hodge is a 1995 Honored graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, with numerous distinctions and awards. Dr. Hodge has been practicing in the north Tampa region since 1995 with a focus on medicine and surgery of small animals, avian and exotics. Dr. Hodge prides himself in remaining current on the most state of the art treatments and continued education.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this vet in the short 2 months time my dogs were patients here. I have no idea who the male vet is who is pictured on the page because I only ever dealt with women in the office, one of whom stated she was a vet. I had plenty of issues with her from something as simple as her not wanting to call in a prescription, wanting me to leave work to come pick up a prescription that could have easily been called into the pharmacy (spoiler alert, after much arguing, she did and they filled it no problems at all even though she claimed Publix would "give her

We had a great experience here at Harbourside Animal Hospital. The entire staff is very friendly and also very accommodating. I was searching for a vet close to home when I found them. I was able to drop my pet off, had him bathed, examined, brung back up to date with shots and medication and picked him up after I ran some errands. So convenient. When I arrived I was quickly seen by Dr. Hodge and he explained everything that was done, what was found and what we need to do moving forward. I was amazed at their level of service. I don't typically write poor reviews but this unfortunately is warranted. I took my dog here to get his foot checked out because there is a growth that is being irritated when he walks.
I expressed that he is very sensitive of people touching his feet because of an experience he had when he was younger and I suggested a muzzle and they agreed. What took place next made me feel uneasy, the woman at the front desk took my dog from me and said, "we'll be back." without explaining to me where or why she was taking him and did not invite me to go with her.

A veterinarian does not exist at this animal hospital. There may be one in name and on paper or as an autograph in a book in the lobby, but your animal will not be seen by this person. Someone will, however, gladly wear a lab coat.
I wouldn't even mind using the doggy equivalent of a nurse practitioner, but cut the costs to reflect this. Unfortunately, the prices are full retail. I see a vet in the Yelp photos, but I haven't seen this person during my visits.

We recently got a puppy french bulldog (which are sadly known to have an array of health problems), but the staff at Harbourside are so good at keeping us informed and on top of things. Our dog actually gets excited when he has to go for a check up and doesn't mind at all when they examine him. They're very good about getting you in when you need to and explaining everything that they're doing before they go and do it.

Our family just moved here from Chicago and didn't have a vet yet, so we took a chance here. Dr. Hodge and Brett did such an outstanding job with our dog Ollie. She is a very anxious and nervous animal naturally, and the last vet we had scolded us into believing she was antisocial- as soon as we walked into this office we realized this was not the case. The two of them handled her so kindly and she became so comfortable there she didn't want to leave! I wouldn't trust our baby with anyone else. Thank you Harbourside!

It is obvious that everyone who works here genuinely cares for the animals they serve. Everyone I met was so kind and assuring. My cat HATED going to the veterinarian and would always create a fuss when being handled by medical personnel; but the wonderful energy that Dr. Hogue and his staff have really soothed her. The folks at Harbourside are always helpful, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They know you by name (both pet and owner). Although their fees are a bit higher than other vets I've used previously, I can't beat the convenience of having only a short walk from my home to get my dogs to the vet quickly and easily. The obvious affection that they have for the animals makes you feel comfortable, knowing they truly have your pets' best interest at heart.

After moving here from Ohio my dog was limping. After being misdiagnosed by another vet I decided to get a second opinion. I'm so glad I came to Harborside. Tabitha is absolutely amazing and Dr Drew and Dr Hodge are so good to my little Oliver. Normally he is so scared to go to the vet, but every time he comes here his tail is wagging. This is the only place I will ever bring my fur baby!

After being written off by two other vets as being "overconcerned" about my puppy's symptoms, I finally visited Harbourside Animal Hospital. Dr. Hodge, Tabitha and Edwin were all so friendly, professional and expressed genuine interest in my concerns. If you're looking for a small practice where the attention is solely focused on you and your pet, I highly recommend visiting Harbourside Animal Hospital. They are fabulous and really love what they do. It's also a beautiful facility!

Wonderful experience taking my dog Maggie there to treat an ear infection. Dr. Hodge was very informative and great with her! The rest of the staff was great too; very informative,friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable and are provided before the services are performed so you know what to expect. The exam seemed very thorough and detailed, along with the report notes they give to you (and send via e-mail). Overall, great first experience and will definitely be taking Maggie there in the future. I highly recommend to anyone.

My dog has some health and major anxiety issues so I was concerned when moving about finding a good vet but Dr. Hodge put my mind at ease with our visit to him. He and Tabitha could not have made it a better experience, they were both wonderful with my little Maltese and spent ample time going through her issues (previous history and current concerns) with me. Many thanks to both of them for taking the time with us to be so thorough and answer all of my many questions!!
