Dale Mabry Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Tampa FL area as a full-service veterinary hospital designed to meet all of your pet medical wellness needs. Our hospital has four licensed and experienced veterinarians, all of whom practice compassion and loving care in everything they do. The veterinarians and staff of Dale Mabry Animal Hospital understand the importance of knowing how to provide the best care for your pets.
Dr. Hansel Leavengood is a fifth-generation Floridian. He was born in Ocala, Florida and moved to Tampa in 1959. He is a 1985 graduate of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena College of Veterinary Medicine in the Dominican Republic and did post-doctoral work at the Animal Medical Center in New York City before returning to Tampa.

We have a veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept cash, personal checks with a valid ID, credit cards (American Express, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover) and CareCredit. Medical insurance for pets can help you pay for unexpected illnesses and injuries.
Our online pharmacy (powered by Vets First Choice) offers convenient home delivery of a wide array of prescription diets, medications, compounded drugs, and parasite preventatives. Non-prescription items may be ordered at your discretion. Prescription items may be ordered and will be automatically submitted to our staff for doctor's approval.

The doctor, techs, and staff are so calm and welcoming. They take amazing care of our fur babies and show them love and kindness. They are more than happy to answer questions and help you feel good and knowledgeable about your pet’s health. We love Dr. Moore because we deal with him the most but have seen all the doctors there and would recommend all of them. Love this place!

I took my dog here for her vaccines and they charged me $215 for 4 vaccines!!! I’ve never paid for $100 for this! I compared it to the price that I paid from her previous vet and it was MORE THAN DOUBLE THE PRICE for the exact same vaccines!! I called Dale Mabry Animal Hospital to see if they used a different brand of vaccine and they said no. So I asked why their prices are so much higher and they said, "Everyone just has different pricing." The vets are friendly, but the prices are literally a rip off. Honestly, these people are crooks.

We’ve never felt a true sense of connectedness with the staff or the vets. It seemed pricey and impersonal. They always spoke highly of our cats though, and I liked Gage a lot. He was always kind and helpful. We stayed because of him. Recently, we received an email saying they’re cancelling our relationship and attached our pets records. It was completely out of nowhere, especially since I hadn’t been there in months. Needless to say, I was very upset and confused. They made the decision for us, and thankfully we’ve found an awesome new vet that we love!!

The tech that took care of shadow was very patient with him which I found comforting. Additionally, Dr. Johnson found the issue and started treating it immediately, then went out of her way to follow up with me to make sure the treatment for shadow was starting to work a couple days after he started it. There is nothing that would have made my experience better, I am very happy with the service Dr. Johnson and her team provided.

My cat has been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. Dr. Leavengood has been so helpful and full of knowledge through out the entire process. He is wonderful with his patients and explains in detail, as well as answers all of your questions with patience. He has wonderful bed side manner and the rest of the staff are very friendly. Doesn't hurt that they are cost effective as well. Highly recommend!

Look no further if you love your pets! The doctors and staff at Dale Mabry Animal Hospital are absolutely the best at what they do, and they do it with kindness and honesty. They love our pet's as much as we do (maybe more). Recently I had to put my pet down due to his age, Dr. Moore sat on the floor with me and Shaggy and was so patient and kind. Shaggy drifted off peacefully. Pricing is very reasonable, and team is honest with what is really needed and can help. My pet's have been going here for treatment and boarding for the last 3 years and the experience has been wonderful. Highly Recommend
