I used to rave about Dr. Mendelovitz' State-Of-The-Art 3-D Digital Printing Equipment that could create a perfectly matched crown to fit your space & match your teeth in minutes while you're still in the chair!
I used to praise his being on the Dental Speaker circuit promoting what's "New" in dentistry and his "PHILanthropy" when in exchange for his talks, he got the manufacturer to give UCLA Dental school ten digital printers (worth over $100k each!)...
But today, during Covid, I'm particularly grateful for his caring hygienists & administrative

Dr. Mendelovitz is extremely competent, and his obvious interest in the most advanced technology is evident throughout the office. X-rays displayed on a computer monitor for the patient to see with the doctor, state of the art manufacturing of crowns in the office while the patient waits, and 3-D imaging are examples. Plus there is his wise assembling of an excellent office team, dental assistants and the hygienist. Thank you, Dr. Mendelovitz!

I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Mendelovitz's commitment to providing optimal patient care as well as the latest knowledge and technology to his community and patients. I had a crown procedure done using Cerec technology. The appointment was super quick and seamless. I was not expecting to go home with my final restoration same day. For over 10 years I have been a patient of Dr. Mendelovitz. I have had a variety of services preformed, all with compassion and expertise. The doctor and staff are professional and extremely congenial. Karen is a gentle hygienist who's tough on plaque. I've seen many dentists prior to Dr. Mendelovitz, none can compare. Honestly, he's a wonderful dentist and person.

I was told I needed one small superficial filling for possibly a cavity that was developing very early on and was promptly given two superficial fillings without being explained the necessity or what was occurring. I also received an estimate that was 100 dollars off even after being assured it was the accurate amount. Will never be coming back here.

Dr. Mendelovitz after listening patiently to my concerns, used impressive state of the art technology , to assist in diagnosis. I first wrote a review of Dr. Mendelovitz about a year ago. I had recently moved to LA and was he was recommended to me by a colleague. I had always had a terrible relationship with dentists because I have very bad teeth genetically with lots of cavities, root canals and crowns from an early age and bad judgmental and painful experiences. Great place to have your smile taken care of. The office staff is professional and appointments are always on time. Dr Phil is top notch and the hygienists are some of the best I have had working on my teeth. I have had teeth cleaning, 40 yr old fillings fixed and actually a tooth pulled, the doctor was very accommodating since I did not want to have to deal with a oral surgeon for a tooth being pulled. Highly recommend!

On Feb. 26,2019 I made a appointment for consultation for permeant crown. He took he a Impression and he said if I was clear with my periodontist. I told him He said to me am ready for permeant crown. he told me he would come up with treatment plan and he will call my periodontist. I didn't hear anything for couple weeks. His office charge me $250 for his consultation and treatment plan which I never received.
On march 11,2019 I called his office and spoked to Israel I asked him please let me know why I have not heart back from Dr.Mendelovitz regarding to go forward with the treatment plan

I went to see Dr Mendelovitz to repair a front veneer and I was completely impressed and blown away with him and his entire office!!!
From the first smiling face at the desk making me feel welcome, to the engaging dental assistants, I felt like family. Dr Mendelovitz is so humble and yet so knowledgeable and professional I had hoped he would be able to handle my difficult case. He hit it out of the ballpark!!! BUYER BEWARE! This dentist has terrible dentist practices. Mendelovitz used the "CEREC" machine for two front Veneers which is already a huge mistake and he didn't fit, case, secure them properly so bacteria got in and caused cavities under the Veneer. Thank god my new dentist caught in time so I wouldn't have to have a root canal.
Long story short, they won't refund me the money on the Veneers ($2200). They should have lasted 40 years and these lasted only 4. Additionally, one had a chip on it and was uncomfortable and too thick.

Dr. Mendelovitz was my dentist some years back, but then I moved to Boston and started going to the Harvard faculty group practice. I attempted to get my old dental records transferred over, but Dr. Mendelovitz's office no longer had them. Well, Dr. Mendelovitz, Professor Sobel at Harvard told me to "tell you that you are an idiot."

Doctor Mendelovitz did amazing job, can't say the same about some of his staff.
I was told by the staff that the cleaning was going to be 100% covered by my insurance, but later ended up having to pay 20%; I was told by the staff that the crowns are going to be 80% covered by my insurance, but ended up having to pay 30% out of pocket.
Their explanation: "We cannot guarantee what the insurance pays". The reason actually is that they weren't aware that their contract with Delta wasn't PPO, but premiere. So, make sure you check and verify your policy and coverage before

The absolute best, professional, most caring person and practice I have been too. I am a nurse now and used to be a dental assistant way back when. I know great from bad. This office is outstanding from the moment I called.. The whole office is caring, compassionate and willing to help. I would highly, highly recommend Dr. Mendelovitz and give him and his office staff 10 stars. Nurses making bad patients, we wait until we can no longer stand pain to be seen. So I came into LA to visit family, when I started having some tooth discomfort (plus I was long overdue for a cleaning). Fearing it might be a cavity, I called my regular dentist's office to make an appointment, however he didn't have anything available at the times that I could go. So I was referred to Dr. Sheila Parsa by a good friend of mine...and let me tell you, she's a true gem in the dental industry!!

Its a shame his office staff is so unprofessional. I will NEVER go back there EVER AGAIN! The office manager HORRIBLE out right rude and nasty. I have never experienced anything like this. As a UCLA employee I'm so disappointed. I plan on writing a review to the BBB and the CEO of UCLA. Everyone needs to know that employee Karen and Jenelle are the worst and need to be released as employees.

I love going here for my dental work. Dr. Mendelovitz is very kind, skilled, honest, and truly cares for his patients' health and looks out for them. I wasn't getting used to my mouth guard so he offered to give me another one for free and ship it to my home for free. Wow, that's very generous and nice. I think most dentist would charge for that.
The office staff is amazing. The front desk is always helpful, friendly, and polite. My hygienist, Karen has the most gentle hands and never keeps me waiting. In fact, I don't remember waiting more than 10 minutes ever.
