Keene Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital providing medical, surgical, dental, radiological, and preventive care for the family pets in our community. Our veterinarians are capable of diagnosing and treating most conditions affecting the family pet, and if we feel your pet would be better served by a specialist, we will discuss the option of referral with you.
As we are not a 24-hour facility, on occasion, we may refer your pet to an emergency or critical care facility if it is indicated. Beyond first-rate pet health care, we strive to keep our hospital clean and comfortable. We also work hard to maintain and improve our friendly and honest customer service and welcome all input on this subject from you, our client.

Services
Dr. Keene was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He went to college in northern Wisconsin (1974-1978), receiving a bachelor's degree in chemistry. The following fall he started vet school at the University of Illinois. In 1982, he received a bachelor of science degree in veterinary medicine and a doctorate of veterinary medicine.
We want you to feel confident and calm when you bring your pet to see us. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology, skilled doctors, and registered veterinary technicians to ensure excellence in service. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your four-legged family members feeling their best.
Dr. Keene and Staff have been fabulous to us as new patients to their clinic. They are helpful and were able to get our cat in on short notice for emergency animal surgery. We had previously seen a different vet who wasn't able to identify our cat's issue as his health and well-being were quickly deteriorating.

I had a tough time writing this because I have had some great experiences here and it’s so convenient due to the proximity of my house, but there have been a lot of cons as of late.
1. Whenever you call you get front office staff that is either not responsive or places you on hold for what seems like eternity. Plus they can be incredibly rude. I work in the medical field and this is a common theme regardless of where you go unfortunately.
2. Don’t offer walk-ins, hold office hours on Saturdays, or emergency services if you are not going to accommodate anyone. “Oh you can just come in Monday

I never usually do this but if you're looking at reviews you should take this one into consideration. We have been going to this vets office for 15 years. It was amazing. Now however over the last 6 months I'm experiencing a completely different service here. The front desk staff don't care that you're worried about your pet, no appointment most of the time for two weeks. My dog is 15 years old and has a lot of worrying issues, not being able to breath properly is one.
I'm so disappointed in the way we have been treated. I have recommended so many of my friends here over the years but

Keene has been amazing to me and my dogs! They are always kind, caring, and do what they can. The veterinarias have all been excellent- I’ve seen all four. I would like to mention that Joy is truly the best thing to ever happen at the front desk! I always have my fingers crossed that she is working, because she takes the extra effort to do what she can and be accommodating. She works extremely hard and is always such a pleasure!

They handled one of the most difficult family decisions with compassion and understanding. When my daughter needed a shoulder to cry on and a hug of reassurance, she got exactly what she needed. It was heartbreaking to watch, but comforting to know we were doing the humane thing for our beloved pet. Thank you Dr. Ladue, you will forever have a special place in our hearts.

The staff is rude more specifically the (older large frame woman) unfortunately the vet needed to see this so that he knows how his staff (this woman) is destroying his reputation in Carollwood All I was… trying to do was stop there to purchase flea prevention for my puppy that was just vaccinated there two weeks ago and I was told was not due for anything for one year. It’s not my fault the papers are not specific and say cookies pups instead of naming the puppies each individually. This paper is there fault and I bet when I contact board of veterinary medicine they will say this

Do not recommend this place at all. Very unfriendly and very poor customer service. My dad went and was unimpressed & then I went and unaware of his reaction and had to wait 25 minutes before they would even wait on me. They never even smiled or showed the slightest kindness. If you’re gonna charge highway robbery for vet needs you should at least be cordial. Every time I called they made me wait on hold for ten minutes. If I’m gonna spend $300 bucks on something I want a pleasant experience too.

Dr. Keene and Dr. LaDue are the best vets ever! My babies always get the best of care! All the vets are so knowledgeable and care about your precious baby. They also have a wonderful staff and they help you with whatever you need! My Snickers and Lollipop are well cared for at Keene Veterinary Hospital!

Dr Keene operated on our 5 month old English Bulldog puppy today. He is so informative & always takes the time to explain everything. We never feel rushed here & the other doctors are great as well. Our baby… had cherry eye in both eyes which had to be repaired surgically. Dr Keene personally called us when our baby was done to explain everything & let us know he did great. The prices are fair & we never feel they are pushing anything on us. Highly recommend this Clinic. Thank you all so very much for taking such good care of our Hank.

The whole crew at Keene vet feel like family. My family raises Maine Coons and both English and French bulldogs and we could not do it without them. They are so kind and healthful in any situation and always happy to see you. They've delivered our puppies and helped us in so many ways! They have decades and decades of experience between the 3 vets and the techs are all so helpful and knowledgeable as well. I've moved an hour away and still go to Keene!
