I would not recommend living here, especially if you require medical accommodations. I explained my situation in great detail prior to moving in, yet received a violation notice. Then, I provided a doctor's notice, which they evidently didn't read because we received another notice. I should not have to explain my situation after providing a doctor's note. Furthermore, it was very idiotic for them to even think that I had bags of "trash" littered all of the patio. If that were the case, then there would have been rodents and pests all over the patio... This place is absolutely terrible. The rent prices are outrageous and the property is disgusting. The entire pet area reeks of old urine, and the earth below the turf is collapsing, causing multiple trip hazards and sunken areas. Someome broke a light and there was broken glass everywhere - which I ended up cleaning because it was left there for a week after I reported it multiple times. The trash can is broken, the door is locked and only accessible if you reach through and open it from the inside. Many people do not clean up after their animals, and the run is never cleaned. My husband and I moved here at the beginning of the pandemic, when everyone was still sorting out how to stay afloat. The management was STELLAR throughout the whole process, they made moving in so peaceful and welcoming. They are also incredibly military-friendly; when my husband deployed, all my neighbors helped keep an eye on things for me and were so supportive and sweet.
Each section of the complex gets to know each other, and for the most part every resident has been welcoming and a friend to us. The property is incredibly safe, so clean, well-kept

Absolutely horrible experience living here. We are current tenets at sofi and our apartment flooded when it rained. Not only did we have to move out but have had absolutely zero communication from property management. It has now been 10 days since the flooding and still no contact. The property manager has been very neglectful and rude to us over the time we have been here. We are still waiting to hear back and the only way we have had any idea of what’s going on is because we still have the apartment key and we visit to see what’s going on and when we come across maintenance we ask them what’s

I would not recommend this place at all if you want a peaceful place to live. The management has changed and the new manager seems careless about anything but their own profit. In the midst of the pandemic, they put so much effort so that we wouldn't request for rent postponement. There are so many other options in Poway that you should consider over this place. This is my review after 3 years of living there, and I stayed that long because of its closeness to my school and my workplace.

We had lived at Sofi for 10+ years and have nothing but great things to say. We loved the fact that the apartment complex is a little older because all the rooms were large, not like the newer apartments we have seen. The pool/spa area is absolutely beautiful.
Carolina and Eric are fantastic to work with in the office and always pleasant and helpful; any issues we had were addressed immediately. I have lived here approximately 7 years & been very happy until the last year. New management has no regard for current issues. Larry, the maintenance supervisor is great, the other staff doesn't seem to take their jobs seriously & just passes everything off to ???. Look at the current reviews & there is a trend. Understaffed is probably the underlying problem as this is a large corporate property now. If you want noise & dog issues including bitten by neighbors dog part of your life then move in. Recent flooding issues is another entire story. My advice, go somewhere

Larry, Sofi Poway's Apartment Maintenance Manager is fantastic and Sofi Poway is lucky to have him. He was able to get to the bottom of an electrical issue I was having and had since I moved in seven years ago. I had maintenance here many times for this prior to the current owners of Sofi Poway but no one figured out what was wrong until yesterday when Larry not only figured it out but he made the necessary fix so now everything works as it should.
Thanks Larry and Management of Sofi Poway, thanks for having a skilled maintenance manager to know what to look for and update/change.

Lived here for 3 years only to see the management get worse and worse. All they see is $$$ and could care less about their tenants. The previous management (Summerlyn) was much better. Upon move out they took my ENTIRE deposit and charged me extra! Charged me for new paint, carpet cleaning (the carpet was 4+ years old). I personally cleaned the heck out of the place before move out. They sent me some confusing accounting forms that were hard to understand. No letter explaining anything. Next I have some debt collectors calling me 10+ times a day without one call from Sofi. Horrible. So glad to

Just moved in yesterday and so far...
It's pretty far in from the freeway but we did choose this place because it's dog friendly, the dog parks a plus! Haven't been there yet but will be bringing my fur baby soon
There's not a lot of counter space in the kitchen for people who love to cook like I do but I absolutely appreciate the cabinet space!
OKAY! So it's either the walls/floors are very thin or I live under BIG FOOT!
I hear every step/move that is made by the upstairs tenant AND when I was going to bed

After weeks of trying to find somewhere to call home with my partner, I came across this little gem nestled in Poway. I instantly fell in love with the area and how close almost everything was so decided to make an unannounced visit and to my surprise The staff was so welcoming and warm that it felt like home already, the manager (I believe her name was Jesenia) was an absolute doll. She and her staff went above and beyond to help us find a unit within their community. Considering this is the first time I've ever had a manager come out just to introduce themselves means a lot to me and says

I moved in here a bit over a year ago and fell completely in love with this place. I was shown a slightly different model because mine wasn't available yet but was informed they units weren't exactly alike. I wish I had more floor VS carpet but pleased either way. My maintenance issues are resolved promptly by very friendly and attentive maintenance guys. Pool area is cleaned regularly and laundry room as well. There are a few smoking issues but i think that's just other tenant who don't give a $&@/ and management can only do so much if they don't catch them. Overall

WOW, high five to everyone who agrees that the management is a nightmare!
Sofi Poway seems nice but the management will make your life miserable. For example, I almost lost my Subaru to an impound while I was traveling because Sofi managers failed to notify me that they towed my car from legal parking spot for an impromptu resurfacing.
I wasn't the only person in this situation, and I later found out that one of the Sofi staff had a friend at the towing company. Coincidence?
I think not. At least I made it out of Sofi Poway with my Subaru.

If I could give a negative 5 for this place, I would.
This apartment complex used to be a nice and peaceful place to stay before Sofi Poway took over.
My family and I have only been here for almost two years and the rent had dramatically increased (and still increasing) over time, which I don't understand because it wasn't like anything in our apartment was upgraded. It's still the same cheap stuff you'll find in any other apartment complexes.
We have been thinking of leaving this place and finding a better one but we've been second guessing ourselves. BUT NOW I CANNOT

After reading the move out section from the lease agreement, i needed clarification on cleaning so i came in and spoke with the manager (misti or mitsi). After our discussion, she says, "If you do not feel like cleaning the entire apt, we can do it and charge a fee of $95. And that includes everything, even the tough spots above the fridge." So

Updating my review on Sofi Poway makes me happy because for a little while I definitely did not like this place and it's little imperfections, but after the new management has taken over it looks like things are going great so far. I'm only rating 4 stars because there are a few things I still don't like about the layout of the apartment, but other than that I'm very pleased living here and commend the management team for being so helpful, kind, and understanding. This has to be the nicest and most responsive management team I have encountered!
