Personal training is my passion. I love every aspect of it - the impact it has on people's lives, what it represents when you put your heart into something, and how happy & healthy people get once they accomplish their goals. I am motivated primarily by my clients' achievements.

The training, nutritional guidance, and support that I provide have set my clients up for success in terms of the optimal health and physical results they have set to accomplish.I became interested in fitness during my teenage years when I was skinny and wanted to improve my physique. After months of training, I realized I had fallen in love with it.

In addition to all the glowing reviews that Richard has received as a personal trainer, I believe that Richard takes pride in thinking "outside the box" and looks to fix and address any sort of underlying issues that might be attributing to poor posture and exercise technique.

Rich has taught me about the monumental importance of core strengthening to include my lumbar paraspinal and multifidi muscles, not just my abdominals, in order to safely and correctly perform all of my common workout routines (squats, deadlifts, chest and shoulder presses).He is very keen on prescribing workout plans that are challenging, yet realistic for me.

I started working with Richard in October 2020 in preparation for my upcoming wedding. Although the pandemic put a wrench in a lot of people's fitness and gym habits, thanks to Richard I was able to stay on track and get in the best shape I have ever been in. I have done crossfit, Barry's, and Orange Theory but have never had this level of expertise with a coach or personal trainer. He keeps the workouts tailored to your needs/experience level and it is always varied. He has also helped hold me accountable for my diet/nutrition plan and it is all definitely paying off. There was no better feeling

I have been pretty slim my entire life and I have always felt a little embarrassed because of my slim physique and weak strength. When I first started working with Richard, I could barely finish a proper push-up. I meet with Richard 2-3 sessions/week, and not only did he customize a workout based on what I wanted to focus, but he also provided me with nutritional guidance and helped me tracking my progress. I've been going to Richard for over a year. First at the gym and now training outside due to COVID. Richard checks in on my goals and tailors the workouts for me. He gives nutrition advice and holds me accountable for my diet. He corrects my form as well. I like that he's not pushy. Overall I'm very satisfied.
He is taking a lot of precautions during COVID including wearing a mask and requiring clients to wear them, holding sessions outdoors only and disinfecting all equipment between clients.

I've been training with Richard since April 2019, and I'm so glad I found him!
He was really helpful from the start with goal-setting and helping me get on a nutrition program, as well as a fitness regime that works well for me.
I'm down 20 lbs. and probably as fit as I've ever been as an adult, at almost 51 years old. I've also had chronic back problems my whole life and since I started training with him I've barely had a flare up.
He works at your pace, providing a great balance around pushing you without breaking you. Everything he sets up is practical and easy to follow, and he's just fun

Richard Hsu is a fantastic coach. I've worked with him for over 4 months now and have had an incredibly positive experience and so much fun.
Each session is tailored to your specific needs and Richard makes sure you get the most out of your workout. Importantly, he makes sure you develop proper form, posture, and stays safe with each routine. He makes sure the workouts are appropriately challenging, yet realistic to allow you to make consistent gradual progress.
In addition, Richard is incredibly friendly and easy going. He makes each session a joy to attend - and is fun to talk to and be around

Before I started personal training, I felt unmotivated, weak, and intimated by weights. I used to attend different fitness classes through classpass, but never saw any clear results and was never sure if I was doing the exercises correctly.

Richard is amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable about anything fitness/nutrition related, is always happy to answer questions, and will do research specific to your individual needs to make sure your training program is right for you. As someone with a few injuries that still wants to do strength training, I’ve really enjoyed how he challenges and pushes me to be my best in a way that is also safe for my body. I’m a new client but have seen results within just a few weeks and am feeling the healthiest and strongest I ever have. He’s also just fun to hang out with, which is always a plus

Training with Richard has been both a pleasure and extremely motivating!
