River Mill Animal Hospital is Tampa Bay's newest premier provider of veterinary service, located in the Publix Cross Creek Commons plaza. We are a full-service veterinary medical facility, seeking to provide the best possible medical care, surgical care and dental care for our highly-valued patients.
Dr. Hodge graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and completed a medical and surgical internship with Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in 2002. As a general practitioner with over 14 years experience, Dr. Hodge has treated various conditions. Her style of patient care is through bonding with pets, listening to owner's concerns, and treating every patient as if it were her own.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.

Today's visit was better than I could have imagined! I was extremely apprehensive, initially, as this was my 17 yo Jack Russell - Mandy's first visit and we could not go inside. The team and Dr. Hodge called us throughout her visit (at least 3-4 times) in addition to providing interaction curbside. We felt very involved in her visit as if we were right there with her! They addressed each concern we had and did not push treatment on us - allowing us the room to decide how we'd like to proceed.

Dr. Hodge and her staff were fantastic with our chihuahua. Always made time to get him seen ASAP if needed, very professional and on top of things. They are all very professional, warm, and kind.
I felt comfortable leaving my chihuahua for a check-up with her. He always had a wagging tail and seemed at ease with being handle by her team when I came to pick him up. Her team is so friendly and kind. She is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Dr and staff only care about how much $$$ they are getting. Charge different rates for clients. Dr Hodge does not do her due diligence as a animal doctor. There is another excellent facility in New Tampa Pebble Creek that is a real hospital and doctor's office. Don't have to wait very long and excellent staff. Stay away from this office if you can.

Kim and Amanda are the biggest freaking god sends know to the veterinarian industry. Kim is the HUGEST help when I call in with issues with the 6 fur kids I have, they help you find numerous options that will fit your needs and all of my animals love them plus Dr Hodge (which is almost unheard of considering they are the “evil” vet 🤣).
I recommend them to everyone I know and they were the best decision we’ve ever made 💜

Dr. Hodges and her staff are by far the most loving, devoted and compassionate team that you could ask for when bringing your beloved fur babies to the vet! My dogs are like my children and the River Mill staff has done nothing short of treating my pets like family! They greet me by name but usually after greeting my dog first, naturally :) From the courteous service from Darcy at the front desk, to the impressive, caring, and urgent service from Kim and Amanda, this veterinary hospital wont disappoint you. My dog, Capone comes here once a month for laser therapy for his hip dysplasia and its always

Very professional and knowledgeable Doctor and staff. They give so much information and answer all the questions you have about your pet. My favorite part was that they had written a note in my cats waiting room wishing her a good morning!! How thoughtful and personable. Also thank you all for the extra gift along with my cats medicine - at the end of the visit.😻

I have to give a huge shout out to Dr Hodge and her staff. One of our dogs was very very sick and we came to the difficult decision to put her down and end her pain. We set the appointment with Dr Hodge and went to the office. Dr Hodge talked with us and explained some things to us and she gave us her opinion to give our girl some time and to proceed with the recommended treatment. Long story short, our girl pulled through and is currently doing great! We almost did something irrevocable but thanks to Dr Hodge's advice, we didn't and now she's going fine! Also, need to say

Nice tech staff but underwhelmed by the vet service. Waited over 20 min past my appointment time for a tech to come in the room. By then my pet was getting distressed. They did a simple test for an infection which then took another hour to get reviewed. All together I spent two hrs in the room before a simple ear infection was treated with no emergency issues calling for the vet or staff time. Adding insult to injury they served up a 165 dollar bill which was "discounted". Found the same med online at a fraction of the cost they charged. Will not be returning to this office.

I have been going to River Mill for a few years and can truly say Dr. Hodge and her staff are the best animal hospital i have ever been to for the care of my senior cocker spaniel. Their caring ways and love shown to my Dolci has been the best experience and they follow up consistently to check up after serious illnesses. My 17 year old dog recently came to the end of her road and Dr. Hodge and Kim came to my house to take care of her transition. They patiently explained the procedure, gave us time to say good bye and we talked about her and her quirks, smiled, laughed and cried. Thank you Dr

AMAZING! They're service is the best I've seen. They took the time to tell me about new products without being pushy or even asking me to buy. They spent over an hour with my dog and the first check-up for a new animal is free. I'll definitely be going back and I've recommended this animal hospital to several people already. The facility is nice and the prices are reasonable.

I am so happy to have found Dr. Hodge and her staff! They are wonderful with my two dogs. They are extremely helpful with every part of a vet visit - calming my pups down, making sure they are taken care of, helping fill out the insurance papers out (and sending them in!), and answering all of my questions. Not only is Dr. Hodge friendly and knowledgeable but the staff is as well, which has been very hard to find in my experience. I'm so glad we decided to go here. After moving to Tampa from Chicago, one of our dachshunds developed a problem with itchy skin. Our other dachshund has a liver shunt and needs a lot of specialized attention. Dr. Hodges was so thorough with both of them. She took the time to listen to their histories and get to know them. Her staff are friendly and very professional, too. I'm glad I have a vet who knows my dogs and enjoys taking such good care of them!!

Just moved into the area about 6 months ago and was glad this place was close by to send our dogs to. The service is absolutely what I had in mind to being piece in mind in the care of our dogs. The staff is ultra courteous, prompt and also knowledgeable for making sure we are able to take care of not only the routine exams, but also any type of issue that fall outside of the routine exam.
Dr. Hodge had to remove a tumor from our dog Bruce and from the first diagnostic test until the final checkup post surgery was handled hands on without any type of intermediary to potentially cause confusion
