The trainers at Verve Health and Fitness will change your life. They are a dedicated team of professional who treat you like family! My trainer Chris Maski and the Verve team has been instrumental in helping me physically prepare to row across the North Atlantic Ocean. With their help I have gone from average to She-Hulk. Their continual metal support, flexible and intense workouts, and nutrition help positively pushed me to become the athlete I am today.

My water aerobics instructor referred me to Verve since I was looking for a place to train before having knee replacement surgery last summer. I wanted to give myself a "head start" by working out with a personal trainer and drop 15 pounds before my surgery date. Verve owner, Michael Lin conducted my initial physical assessment and later I was assigned to one of their trainers, Tim Cossey. I trained with Tim twice a week for 10 weeks prior to my surgery. After surgery and after maxing out on PT - I resumed my personal training at Verve with Tim. My body is getting stronger and I am

Just read someone else's review and I have a similar story. I was referred by my ortho due to neck and alignment issues. Its only been 6 weeks but I am really happy I was sent here. I've already learned a lot about my body, posture and movement. I've got a long way to go, but the trainers are patient, attentive and really care about helping me "get my body back." So far I've worked with Tim, Anson, Matt and Matt. If you need person attention to get back to healthy and you want to work with skilled trainers who'll take any worries you have away...this is the place

I came to Verve at the recommendation of an orthopedic surgeon: I have had chronic and debilitating back problems for two decades. I began biweekly training sessions with Anson Paul, and after six months, the benefits are breathtaking. I have no back or neck pain; I sleep much better; I have more stamina for everyday activities; I enjoy life more, and I smile more. This is the best investment I have ever made. Instead of taking an exotic vacation, spend six months turning your body into something that feels right. (It's far cheaper.) Anson Paul is perceptive, attentive, and very supportive

Verve is relocating. It is moving across the street, so not far away. Unfortunately, the full business will not reappear.

This is not a review to sing the praise of their crossfit institutions. I've seen their attentive personal trainers at their craft, but I'm not one to use them, so no praises for them either.

I'm here to talk about the Verve gym.

The Verve has (for the next few days) all of the basic equipment you might like for a small gym. The population level is constant, but not crowded.

I've been with Verve for little over a year, and joined specifically for the personal training as a means to reach some personal goals and to become more educated about lifting weights. And the experience has been excellent. I've trained with Anson Paul since I joined Verve 1-2 times a week for the last year, and have greatly increased my strength without injury (one of my biggest concerns when it came to lifting weights) and have become vastly more educated in weight lifting.

For anyone looking for a personal trainer, I highly recommend Anson who is both incredibly friendly, supportive

I signed up for this gym being told I was allowed to use everything inside of if. Apparently the owner doesn't permit the use of the crossfit room or things inside of it. The gym is small with no open spaces. The crossfit room is the only place to have any real privacy and use free weights without being crowded. I immediately cancelled my membership. The owner has not gotten back to me about refunding my initiation fee and has yet to discuss the matter with me. This place has by far the worst integrity of any gym I have been too. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They have a tendency

The Verve staff and trainers are extremely friendly and helpful. The facility is not huge, but it has almost any kind of machine you could want. I often went to workout in the evenings and was impressed with how clean the staff kept the facility throughout the day. Although I'm no longer a member (I joined Verve during the winter months when the gym in my apartment complex was under renovation), I would recommend it as an option for anyone living or working in Rosslyn.

I was having lower back problems and couldn't work out on my own without hurting myself. I am a very active person, so not being fit wasn't an option. I had heard about Verve from friends, so I signed up for personal training with Matthew Lightfoot. We've been training weekly since early Summer and I have not had any further issues with my back. That alone is makes me a very satisfied customer! Our workouts are killer! I've definitely noticed a difference in my waistline and energy levels. He has also been extremely flexible and understanding with my ridiculous schedule, which

I've been a member since 2004 (wow, time flies) and can attest that this is a solid gym for a no-frills workout.

It's very clean (the workout area, that is- I don't use the locker rooms), relaxing but upbeat, and the staff is friendly.

Its smaller size (compared to franchise gyms like Golds or Ballys) is a blessing and an occasional challenge. I usually visit in the evening when it is quiet with no wait for machines or equipment- perfect! However, it def. gets busy in the morning and during lunch so plan accordingly.

Overall, I cannot recommend Verve enough- Mike S is a great

Professional, friendly, helpful, creative, amazingly knowledgeable staff. The space always has an energetic, positive vibe you can't help but mirror.
The bootcamp class is great, and so is the spinning.
NOTE: call before a spin class to make sure there's a bike for ya!
Been going here for almost one year. I don't belong as a member - I pay for the bootcamp 2xs weekly and spinning when I can make the class. I live near Verve. If I worked nearby and/or didn't have a gym at my office bldg, I would be a full member.

I came here everyday after my internship last summer. Each time coming here the staff was highly encouraging and nothing makes them happier than seeing your commitment to staying fit.

There is more than enough weights and machines. Each of the bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals carry their own mini televisions. I will admit I would forget how long I was working out for while watching the Travel Channel.

The place is immaculate and feels like spa. No worries about forgetting shampoo because it is provided in the showers.

The location is very easy to find and there are parking garages

I was quite disappointed with Verve fitness for a number of reasons.

When I first came in to use verve fitness, I spoke with one of the owners. He seemed flexible, positive and experienced which was what I was looking for in a training center. Overall disappointing experience unfortunately.

Disappointments:

1. The co-owner failed to explain that indeed the initial consultation would not be free and would in fact be charged as a separate training session. The co-owner claims that in all his experience, he would never use a "hook" tactic to get clients. Well this was one time he

If you are looking for a gym, you may want to hit up the nearby Gold's. But if you are looking for a small, boutique gym specializing in personal trainers then this is a great choice. The staff is friendly, they have a variety of small classes, and its super convenient to the Metro.

I've been going to Verve since July 2010. It's a great little gym with enough free weights and cardio to satisfy most people. There are never so many people that you have to wait for weights, although I have seen cardio machines full at peak hours (e.g., 5:30 p.m.). The staff are extremely friendly. The price is very competitive for gyms in the area, taking into account customer service and on-site perks, e.g., clean showers and towels. My only complaint, however minor, is that classes aren't included in the membership fee. I recommend the gym to anyone who lives or works in Rosslyn

The staff is super friendly! A very clean space. Never a wait for machines. Classes are small which allows for personal attention, not like large classes that lack the personal touch. This is a place you feel like a VIP in a gym, a rare find!!!

I don't think I've ever been at a better gym. The staff is incredibly friendly, motivating and encouraging. They remember your name and always make you feel happy to be there (which for some of us is really hard at the gym!)

The personal training is excellent - whether you go one-on-one or attend a bootcamp class with your friends, you will love it! I was taught the correct postures to use while doing exercises and what kind of workouts I should be doing to best suit my body - not something they pulled off a sheet for every client.

Also, there are showers (including shower gel, shampoo

Got a week's free membership because the gym at the hotel we were staying at was under construction. It turned out to be a great small gym: friendly, spotless, my kind of place. Because it's hidden away in the same tower that China Garden is in, it's never crowded. Even though it's in a high-rise, it's got a very personal, neighborhood type feel. Many personal trainers are there working one-on-one with their clients. One of the trainers was chatty and friendly with us, asking us if we were cross-training for something together; he even commented on the benefits of
