Mary has been in dentistry for well over 20 years and her passion is taking care of our patients, educating and building long lasting relationships. Mary is a Registered Dental Assistant for 20 years and been an Office Manager and Practice Manager for many years having managed many offices in parallel.
Dr. Priya Balaraman was born and raised in India and attended Tamil Nadu Dental College, a prestigious dental and medical college in South India, receiving her Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) following it up with a Masters in Dental Surgery (MDS) from the same university.
Upon immigrating to the US she then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF School of Dentistry) in 2006 and has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years.Having spent many years in California, Dr. Balaraman and her husband have chosen to call Austin their permanent home for the beauty, quieter life and small town vibe.

Brushing and flossing each day is, of course, very important in maintaining good oral health. But visiting your dentist on a regular basis is just as important. The dental professionals at Jester Village Dental will be able to provide you with the deep cleaning your gums and teeth need, in addition to spotting any possible difficulties as early as possible.
Dental technology has advanced so much over the past few years! At one time, not so long ago, there was only one choice of dental material for fillings: silver amalgam. Although that material is quite strong, the amalgam material did have some disadvantages. Thanks to advancements in dentistry, you have another alternative: tooth-colored fillings.
From time to time, a tooth can become so badly decayed that the pulp of the tooth itself becomes infected. When that happens, Dr. Kassabian may recommend a root canal procedure to save the tooth. Although it may sound painful, root canals are actually very common procedures and are usually quite simple to perform.

Update: received apologies from receptionist Mary and Dr. B. about the emergency bump and payment harassment. I hope they are sincere. May keep rescheduled appointment.
No refund for uncovered crown work for me or hubs, though.
Note: hubs told Dr. B herself scaled and cleaned his teeth no tech onsite.
Wish I could give zero stars. Appalling customer service since Dr. K left.
Did not confirm insurance would not cover prior appointment crown replacement on same tooth within 12 months. I arrived for routine appointment, checked in and got harassed about $2k unpaid outstanding balance for crown

Doc Cassabian and his staff are awesome. All very accommodating with a real comfortable atmosphere in the office. Recently had more or less an emergency situation prior to holidays and got me in within 30 min of the call I made. Great experiences there and also has all the updated equipment on hand - such as carver so bridged and caps etc can be don’t in the office-thus eliminating an office visit for that process to my knowledge. - Mark Scott

Being a dentist myself for 30 years and consulting on how to take care of patients with honesty and integrity, I still was amazed how caring and skillful Dr. Kasabian was during my appointment!
Not only did he and his team have a very gentle touch, but he also took the time to explain and make sure that I was comfortable ....

Awful. Had a crown in January of 2019 that this office never filled with insurance with delta dental (take a look at the photos) now I am getting letters from this dentist saying that they have not been paid lol well maybe that's because they don't know how to file a claim accurately lol this is the biggest pain as I have never had an issue with any other dentist in my entire life.

Only 5 stars? 5 stars times 100! I am a brand new patient who lost a filling which necessitated a crown. I called yesterday to ask for an appointment & was seen this morning. At age 70, I have had numerous dentists over the years, but Dr K & all of his staff are way beyond excellent!! I can highly recommend Dr K & his staff to all who want &… need a caring practice whose main goal is excellent care, a wonderful experience, & an outstanding professional outcome! It always impresses me when you are received by a Dr's office with such friendly acknowledgement and ON TIME! Jeanna, my hygienist was expedient and very friendly when she came out to get me for my appointment. She was very professional and gentle with her cleaning which put me at ease and confident that she knew my dental concerns very well. Dr… Kassabian was so nice and gentle, he even took time to have a friendly conversation with me which made me fell even more important. The staff was super friendly and professional.
The low rating is for several reasons:
1. When I was told at this office that I had severe gum disease, after 44 years and a single cavity in my entire life, I was shocked! A second opinion by another dentist indicated I did not have any evidence of gum disease and in fact, showed me proof via X-ray and probe measurements that I do not have any evidence of gum disease.
2. I was always being 'sold' something like topical fluoride, visalign braces, whitening treatments. I didn't particularly like that.

I've been to Jester Dental for a number of years and often wondered about some of the charges, now and then. It sometimes felt "odd" but I didn't question it knowing how funky insurance can be. However, recently, there were too many issues to ignore when I asked them to check on predetermined costs for needed crowns. Long story short, the "quote" kept going up each time I checked. For example, my portion was going to be $305 (per crown, I needed 3), a few weeks later, it was $349 each, then the actual day of the procedure, it was that 2 remained at $349 and 1 was

Having used Dr. Kassabian for regular dental visits before my short move to Phoenix, I of course returned to his practice once back in Allergy Central Austin.
During my normal cleaning, Delaney recommended that I look in to braces to ease crowding and such. WHAT?!?!?! At 35 years old, in braces. NO!
She won me over by mentioning the fact I could get glow in the dark bands. DONE.
9 months in, I am amazed at the change in my teeth and my bite. My young daughters now want braces when they "get bigger". Let's hope not.
Anyways, thanks to Dr. Kassabian and crew, most importantly

The best Dentist ever! We are a family of six. Our previous dentist of six years let us go...yes all six of us over a change in billing. We've been patients of Dr. Kassabian for last 3+ years. I bought an Invisalign package from them last January or February - to cut a very long story short, it is the middle of July and I still have yet to see any trays or services performed.
There has been a string of passing the buck, people getting fired, people saying, "well, they didn't tell me anything" or "I thought we were waiting to hear from you". They NEVER returned my calls, never called me on their own initiative. For months I have had to hound them, to no avail.
I finally had enough last week and asked

I just moved into the area and needed a dentist. These guys are great. Solid work. Very nice office staff.
Regarding the dental service itself, I couldn't be happier. Before a procedure they made sure to tell me what was going to happen and what to expect. This made me feel more comfortable. Dr. Kassabian was knowledgeable and amicable.
They took care of all the insurance work (like checking coverage). They also had a detailed plan clearly showing any costs I'd be responsible for before they began the work. Their numbers were exactly correct, so there were no surprises.

After not having insurance for the past 2 years (while I started a business) I had neglected to visit a dentist on a regular bi-annual basis. So, I purchased a Groupon for Jester Village Dental. And, it was probably the best purchase I've ever made. Previously, I had no idea that this place existed and would have subsequently never gone. Thank god for Groupon! My hygienist, Delaney, was OUTSTANDING. Seriously, she was, hands down, the most thorough hygienist I've ever had. I had previously had a horrible experience w/ a dentist. Dr. Kasabian has cured of that. Best dentist office I have ever been to. They take good care of their patients and don't let you suffer. They are VERY thorough and are a great help with the insurance nightmare. I got a crown there last year, first one I'd ever had. Went back three times because he wasn't happy w/ the way the crown was fitting. Now that's pride in your work!
