CrossFit North County
CrossFit North County was founded by idle chit chat at a Level 1 Course. One guy sat by a couple and made conversation. They found out that both live in the same school district and one was a teacher in that district. Of course everyone acknowledged the ultimate goal - opening a CrossFit Box.

A few months later, AJ went through the district directory remembering that Eric mentioned he was the only male teacher in the building, found him and shot him an email. The rest is history! Our mission is pretty simple: provide workouts, training methodology, and insights to ensure the best quality fitness for each person, regardless of their needs/goals/desires; that comes through our doors.
Services
So what exactly is CrossFit? CrossFit is defined as Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, Perfomed At High Intensity. Functional Movements- Our workouts are designed for things you do in everyday life. Picking up the kids, carrying groceries, picking up a heavy box and putting it on a shelf. In our W.O.D.s (Workout of the Day) incorporate strength and conditioning, gymnastics (body weight/ body control movements), and Olympic lifting.
CrossFit North County bases our programming at being ready for anything. The known and unknowable.because in life; there are curveball thrown at us ALL THE TIME. We can't always be prepared for such curveballs but can we be ready for them? ABSOLUTELY!

Through our programming we take into consideration 10 general physical skill: Cardio/Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy thus building on your General Physical Preparedness (GPP) to take on whatever obstacles in your way.Our programming will not make you the best at one particular thing but good at many different things.
Sign up or cancel a class 2 hour prior to class time. In order to keep cost down for our athletes and the box, we won't have a coach at the box if no one is signed up for class; that's why we ask this of our athletes. Movements are expected to be at FULL RANGE OF MOTION to count. If full range of motion cannot be achieved, talk to your coach and find out about modifying the movement.
Stationary bike or treadmill for 3 minutes hard at 90+ rpm on bike (90% max heart rate) 15 push ups, 15 sit ups, 15 air squats for 5 Rounds. Treadmill Hotel "Murph" = 1 mile treadmill run, 100 push ups, 200 sit ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile treadmill run. Hotel Pool or Lake : 3 Rounds of : Water run in place (no belt or float) 3 min, 50 air squats, 25 sit ups.
A CrossFit box is very different from other gyms you may have been to. In a regular gym, you simply do your own program. You get no feedback or coaching from experts. CrossFit, however, is based on extremely effective training provided by a CrossFit coach. Training at a CrossFit box is a blend of personal training and group exercise classes.

10/10 would recommend. Coaches are very knowledgable, helpful, patient, and encouraging. Everyone is super kind and we cheer each other on in class.
I don't think you will regret it if you try out a class.

I have been training here now for 4 years. I like that the class sizes are small and the facility is clean. I appreciate the owners’ regular maintenance of the gym, which keeps us safe!
However, I do miss the Foundation Classes. I do believe they were helpful to me when I was new and can help others get better accustomed with the class structure.

I had a horrible experience with the man responsible for this gym. Very unprofessional and unwilling to work with me. I’m still awaiting for him to call me back after I called him several times.. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I really like it here! They are very accommodating when it comes to being a beginner to crossfit. All the coaches I have worked with are very nice and encouraging. Looking forward to getting in shape here.

These guys hearts are in the right place, but to echo some of the reviews here, the motivation to instruct just doesn't exist. If you grab these guys and ask them a question, they are very knowledgeable. But too many times classes were conducted saying "you guys know a clean so I won't go over it". Not ideal. It's literally working out on your own with someone else's equipment.
Price is very competitive. But equipment is old, class times are odd, and programming is super strange.
I'd love to see this gym succeed. NoCo needs a good CrossFit gym. Just needs to have some better instruction and more

Enjoyed the workouts, but the staff was not keen on actual instruction. When asked to repeat a move after just a few sessions (without the same workouts each session) was made to feel incompetent. It appears it is expected of you to know the terminology and basic movements prior to starting your training at the facility. Disappointed with that aspect.
