Dentistry is an art. It's also an everyday happiness; my food and water for the day, if you will. I enjoy dentistry and am a perfectionist. Meeting so many people, helping to improve their lives while learning about their backgrounds and passions, means each day brings me new growth and new opportunities to better understand our world.
Dr. Carla Delafuente attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she double majored in Biology and Spanish. She received her Degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Throughout her dental school career, she volunteered to travel and serve indigent populations in Mexico and Guatemala.
I have always found great pleasure in helping others achieve their goals in life by giving them a beautiful smile. I value the opportunity and the trust my patients are giving me to help them make this life changing experience. I like treating my patients like family and I feel honored they selected me to be their orthodontist.
Fluoride treatments are ideal for patients who want to protect their teeth and prevent future issues with tooth decay. If you don't get enough fluoride through the water you're drinking or the products you're using, we might recommend that you have additional fluoride treatment applied to your teeth.
An exam and cleaning are necessary to keep up with the health of your smile. Exams are done to check for cavities, loose restorations, problems with teeth and even oral cancer. Cleanings are done by a licensed hygienist and involve removing tartar and stains from the teeth while checking the health of your gums.

Dr. Barsa and Dr. Delafuente are both terrific dentist's. Unfortunately, the individual (Marisol) who is responsible for submitting the pre-estimates to the insurance companies struggles to get it done. My experience with the two past dental offices, I was never involved with the process nor did it take 3-6 months to get a pre-estimate approved. Yesterday (01/25/2022), as I was checking out I was told the following, " we will submit a pre-estimate for you as a courtesy, let's see what happens before your 03/26/2022 appointment."

Dr Carla is one of the best dentist that I have ever visited. She is very knowledgeable, patient, kind, and skilled. You will leave feeling that you were her number one patient. Dr. Barsa and his staff are wonderful. I've always had trouble getting dental work done in the past, but with Dr. Barsa it's much more comfortable. I had an issue that forced me to find a dentist (long overdue) in October of last year. I arrived and was relieved with the Covid precautions they employ. The front desk staff and assistants are kind and upbeat. The office is clean and comfortable. Dr. Barsa is enthusiastic and explains everything clearly and concisely, and really wants his patients to be well informed. They created a treatment plan and my issues were resolved within a few weeks. I

This is a first rate practice! Dr. Barsa is very highly skilled and took a sincere interest in saving my teeth. He fixed my cracked tooth and the new fillings and crown are perfect. I especially appreciated knowing the pricing upfront. All that, plus a knowledgeable office staff and gleaming up-to-date facilities, with effective procedures and special considerations for Covid-19 make this an easy choice.

Dr. Carla is the best! I've been going to Confident Smiles for years and this is mainly due to Dr. Carla and staff. Very friendly, informative and if at all possible she always makes an effort to get all the work you need done on your teeth in very little time (usually only one appointment needed for routine work). I also have very sensitive teeth and they always get the cleaning done without any issues. Highly recommended!

Dr. Barsa and team are incredible! They took such good care of me yesterday. I highly recommend them to everyone ESPECIALLY anxious adults. Going to the dentist is something I admittedly avoided for a long time out of fear and they made me feel so comfortable.

Dr. Barsa is by far my favorite dentist I've had. He is very friendly and you can tell he cares about your health. Your first visit he takes you through your x-rays and teaches you what's going on with your teeth. His staff is also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Confident Smiles!

As a kid I was scared to come here. There was a mean dentist. Now they have a new one. Much younger guy. His name is George. George educates you into what you have. After a few xrays you come out being a dentist, pointing out the cavities you have. Not fun at all to see but at least you'll know what they are working on. He shows you the before and after pic. Everyone there is friendly. My new place to go.

Dr. Barsa is a great dentist. I absolutely hate getting dental work done, but he has made it bearable! He is knowledgeable and personable. I appreciated him thoroughly explaining everything. Costs are transparent and explained upfront. His front staff is friendly and making an appointment with them is easy (good hours).

Dr. Barsa and the whole team at Confident Smiles are excellent to work with. They use a texting system to remind and confirm your appointments that is so much more convenient and helpful than phone calls and voicemails. Care is very gentle here with an emphasis on education. Who knew that I am thirty-ahem years old and I have been flossing wrong all this time? The staff here are not bean counters- they have personalities and treat you like a person and a friend. I am excited that my husband and I have found compassionate dental care in a convenient location. Would and have reccommended!

Im so happy with this place . Dr. Barsa is such a good doctor , he explains to you every procedure and makes sure you understand and feel comfortable !
He gives good price when you don't have insurance , he cares about you and makes you feel part of his family :) Even my boyfriend loves him , and believe me my boyfriend is afraid of dentist and he likes coming to this place !

Dr. Barsa is very professional and very considerate to the patient. He goes out of his way to know how you are feeling during the treatment, and that you are getting the best treatment possible. He was my dentist when I lived in Chicago, and even after moving out of town, i still come back whenever possible for my dental care. This is a big statement to the kind of dentist Dr. Barsa is.

This is under new ownership and the new dentist and staff are great. They are updating all the equipment and have brought in new digital xray machines. Dr. Barsa is very friendly and approachable and spent a lot of time with me making sure he had answered all my questions. He also had lots of recommendations about different treatment options for me.
