Wellspring Dental started as the dream of two vibrant and enthusiastic young dental students. Dr. Mitch Zientz and Dr. Philip Classen were college roommates who loved the Big Apple and all its glory almost as much as they loved dentistry. They opened Wellspring's Carroll Gardens location in March of 2016 with the hope of expanding and offering high-quality, personalized, comfortable care throughout the New York area.
Brittany is responsible for the daily operations of all of our Wellspring practices. This driven, dependable, genuine, and considerate leader keeps both her team and her patients happy with her wit and warmth. A graduate of Ball State University in Indiana, Brittany's 13 years of dental experience make her an invaluable problem solver.

Each of our practices has chosen to weave itself into the community in a local, cottage-industry style while remaining committed to innovation in oral health care.

This is Wellspring's startup location, and we have modeled our other offices on the creative blend of hospitality, elegant technique, and the lively but laid-back energy Brooklyn is famous for.
Some people call Wellspring's East Harlem dental care "beauty for El Barrio." Others say we are "awesome and smell great." Still others enthuse that, "Wellspring is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow." Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist’s office. As a very anxious and nervous patient when it comes to dentistry, I felt at ease as Janelle took her time with my cleaning and X-rays, ensuring I was comfortable the whole time. Additionally, Dr. Claassen took his time to explain in detail the ins and outs of his findings, and the best course of action as well as why it would be best. Both Janelle and Dr. Claassen were super patient and gracious while I asked a bunch of questions! Don’t bother looking elsewhere, Wellspring is most definitely the place you want to be when

I highly recommend Wellspring Dental! I had really great experiences with Dr. Tala, Janelle, and the team for my cleanings and fillings. Scheduling appointments is a breeze and everyone who works there is attentive and kind. Dr. Tala brings a positive energy and it feels like the type of place where they want to get to know you and care about you!

Amazing!!! Such a great experience with Dr. Claassen. Best dentist I’ve ever been to. He's attentive, patient, talented and very dedicated to his patients and making sure they are walking away happy. Not to mention his staff! The ladies at the front desk are so sweet and pleasant, you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. And the assistants and hygienists are just so incredible. They help make you feel so at ease. Just an amazing team!!!! I can’t say enough about them.

Needed to find a new dentist since my old one that I’d seen for decades just wasn’t getting the job done. Dr. Z. Came highly recommended and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Had to get a lot of work done (deep cleanings and 11 fillings) and it was a downright dare I say pleasant experience. Great staff! Great doc!

This was the most positive experience I have ever had at a dentists office! Brittany my dental hygienist was thorough and communicative and just all around incredible! She let me know what she was doing and what each part of the cleaning was for. She even communicated when I would feel pressure or a sensitive spot and reminded me to take a deep breath. My family has been seeing Dr. Zeintz at wellspring dental for several years now. I've gotten Invisalign there, had countless cleanings, and my children have had wonderful experiences there too. We are very grateful to have found Wellspring Dental and very much appreciate the whole team there . Definitely recommend!

As a response to your misinformed response to my complaint: I must say there was only one previous cancelation and that was because I was rescheduled by your staff within 24 hours of my appointment because YOU had overbooked. I am 8 months pregnant and there was a tropical storm (isaias) the afternoon you rescheduled me so I could not go because it was dangerous for me to walk there in the middle of it. So don't make this about me. Your practice proved to be both callous and unprofessional all at the same time

I used to be pretty self-conscience about my smile. I had several silver fillings and chipped teeth. Phillip helped me replace my fillings from silver to white and fixed my chipped front teeth! I've received so many compliments on my smile and it's all because of Wellspring.
Also, as an added plus, they have extremely flexible appointments and have weekend availability!

By far my favorite dentist office I've gone to in the city. I've been going for a little over the year. The entire team is friendly, funny, easy to talk to, and extremely thoughtful/attentive teeth cleaners.
Brittany is the best. Her and Dr. Z give me just the right level of crap for not flossing and not using the fluoride paste I'm supposed to - I walk away feeling feel like "Mike, do better," rather than like I committed murder, compared to previous dentists.
I can't recommend enough!

I have delayed making an appointment for a couple of years. Wish I hadn't.
Janelle was super gentle but thorough in cleaning.
The dentist explained everything that I need to have done - starting with what is most urgent.
I recently changed insurance. I'm not sure if this changed the cost, but my quote is about half of what I paid at my last dentist for similar services.
I would highly recommend Wellspring.

Brittany is the BEST!!! I had been going to another practice for years and really only stayed with that dentist because of how amazing Brittany was. When she moved to Wellspring, I followed right along. She is fun, positive, and always does a wonderful job. It's clear she is passionate about her work and truly cares about her patients' teeth. I've always left smiling, because of the lovely interaction and the clean white teeth! :)

I visited the office for the first time last week for a cleaning and check-up. I had been unsatisfied with the last couple dentists I had and was hoping to find someone I could trust. (A dentist is like a mechanic, you've got to have one you can trust or you'll just end up paying for unnecessary repairs.)

Great experience. Very nice staff and doctor. I've been going to another dentist for years and when I complained of jaw pain the doctor dismissed it. Dr Classsen took his time to look at my jaw and perform tests to get at the root cause. I have no resolution yet, but it is good to have someone listen and take the time to investigate. The hygienist was nice and gentle. They both explained everything and even took photos of my mouth so they could show me what they saw. The office is also very modern and comfortable! The music is great. Overall, welcome modern dentistry to Carroll Gardens!

What a nice practice! Dr Z is warm and friendly, and makes visiting the dentist as painless as possible. Lisa at the front desk is wonderfully helpful as well, and made the insurance process easy.
Love the small, local feel and the work they're putting into the practice for the long term.

I'm several months into an Invisalign treatment with Dr. Zientz and can't say enough nice things. I'll break it down for you in the 4 main areas that have been deal breakers in my past dental experiences:
Price: I had 3 other Invisalign consultations with other dentists and Dr. Z was easily the most affordable. His payment plan is wallet friendly and he is very honest about cost and necessity. I'm a patient that occasionally has to say "Is this going to kill me? If not, can I do it/pay for it later?" and Dr. Z is very non-judgemental and honest in advising the best
