First of all, this is the first place I've seen with prices by hair length. How amazing is that? Got my hair cut from Tomas today and I loved it. Everyone that works there is so kind and all around a great atmosphere. Definitely worth supporting this kind of business.

I came in with a Groupon and got baby lights for my first time (along with a light dusting on the ends). Tomas did an amazing job! I liked how he got as close to the root as possible, the toner he chose and overall how he handled my hair. I'll be back!

Popped in for a quick trim and Tomas was incredible. So accommodating and kind. Gave me a gorgeous trim and walked out feeling beautiful!

I have been going to Shy Studio for years and I have never been disappointed!! Sarry is AMAZING!!!! He is the best colorist I have ever used! Cut, color, Brazilian Blowouts, you name it, he is the BEST!!! Sarry is so personable and makes going to salon fun! I would recommend his services to anyone!! Dude is nice enough but definitely didn't do a full highlight, it was partial at best. He didn't cover my greys. He also didn't put the highlight mix right up to my scalp so now it already looks grown out, roots showing. I'll have to pay someone else to fix it and blend in the skunky chunks into the rest of my hair.

I’ve never been a person who visits the same hair studio more than once - I’ve just never really been wowed by the service. But about a year ago, I visited SHY Hair Studio...and I just keep coming back!! Sarry is SO friendly and welcoming and does amazing work. I get compliments on my hair color consistently (even if I haven’t gotten it touched up in weeks! That’s how good it is!) His Dye and Dash service is quick, efficient, and affordable for someone like me who is tight on money. I’ve never been happier with my hair.

I enjoyed my experience in this salon. Sarry listened to my concerns and worked together with me to execute a great haircut and balayage. I wanted something totally different and i'm very happy with the results. I loved the vibe in this salon and his dog Lola welcomed me at the door! Welcome to the neighborhood Sarry!

It was my first time going to this hair studio. I've had my hair cut and colored at many different salons that are the same price point as SHY but never left this satisfied and happy about my hair. Sarry did a great job at matching my skin tone and mixing a beautiful color for me. And he managed to preserve my length while getting rid of all the split ends. Overall I'm very happy with the service and price is very reasonable for the quality you get.

Unfortunately, I have taken a while to write this review. I came to Sarry about 2 years ago in September or October for a cut and color through finding the new salon on Groupon.

I usually LOVE my time with stylists I am very kind and chatty and I did enjoy most of my time there. I also am very easy to please with haircuts and color. I don't ask for much, but the one thing I do point out is that my hair is fine and my face is WIDE and I do not like to make my head look any bigger than it already is with a big face and curly hair.

I just left SHY hair studio and I am so happy! I booked an appointment for my mother to have a cut and single process color. Sarry made my mother feel extremely comfortable and well attended to. His patience and energy are refreshing! He answered all her questions, gave recommendations, and lifted her spirits with the final result. My mom left feeling beautiful! I recommend anyone who wants to look amazing and feel great to book an appointment!

Worst haircut I have ever received. Honestly, Fantastic Sams does better work. It was as if every request was ignored. Atmosphere is snotty/elitist/arrogant. My opinion and directives, of my hair, were lost in the stratosphere.......

This cute and welcoming neighborhood salon was such a treasure to find! SHY Hair Studio is competitively priced, and you are sure to walk out the door loving the results.

Sarry did a gorgeous job with my hair! As a blonde I am particularly picky, so I am hesitant to trust new stylists. Sarry gave me the icy blonde locks I craved while maintaining the integrity of my hair. He was clear and concise about what he planned to do before he even touched my head, and the color and cut was executed efficiently but with great care.

I came in with bleached, blonde hair with about 1/2 inches of my natural, dark brown hair growing in. (not even an inch) What I wanted was for it to be blended into my blonde hair so that the line wasn't so harsh. Oh, and a trim. No biggie right?

So, I go over this with Sarry and he agrees to smudge my roots out. Maybe I should've been more firm but I'm not sure if me saying I want it only about an inch of smudge was not enough for him to understand that. I ended up with almost 4 inches of smudge! I can't believe it took me so long to write this review!

I have been seeing Sarry for about a year and a half now after wandering in when it first opened. When I walked in I had lost maybe 50% of the hair on the back of my head from a terrible bleach which no one had been able to help with. To put this in perspective the hair on the back of my head was maybe 2 inches long and ruined and my wedding was a mere 1.5 years away. Sarry was able to not only style my hair so the damage was less noticeable but he was able to nurse my hair- which several stylists had told me to cut off- back to health

There's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said here but I'll try! I hate getting my hair done (awkwardness of trying to make conversation with a stranger and sitting still for hours on end!) but I had so much fun at SHY yesterday! Sarry was easy and fun to talk to, his wonderful pup Lola was entertaining AND he got me out in an hour and a half (that's a cut, highlight, toner, dry and style!). I came in on a Groupon but left a loyalist. Almost can't wait until it's time to go back :)

I've been searching for a new stylist ever since I moved to Chicago in 2013. After going almost a year without getting my hair done, I got a groupon for SHY Hair Studio. Sarry, the stylist and owner, took amazing care of me and my fine/thin hair. I walked into work today and got nothing but compliments on my new hair!

I worked in the hair industry as a receptionist in highschool and college and I can say that I've only run into a few other stylists who have as much passion and talent as Sarry does. He's hardworking and made my hair look AMAZING! Already pre-booked my next appointment

I found SHY Hair Studio while perusing Groupon because I was a bit overdue for a cut and color. I love the ease of their online scheduling system which confirmed my appointment via text and email after calling on the phone!

Sarry, the stylist and owner, transformed my hair into a lovely dark ash brown. He also did a magical layered haircut that gave my hair flow and volume!

The environment is very pleasant and Sarry knows how to make you feel relaxed and comfortable with complimentary tea,coffee, or wine; and a massage chair while getting your hair washed.

Loved the over all experience I had at SHY hair studio. It has been a mission to find a stylist that is so knowledgeable about how to cut and style curly hair. The environment is warm, inviting, cozy, and I felt like my needs were more then well accommodated. The owner took his time to not only give me a great cut and style but to actually learn about my "hair history". He also uses Kevin Murphy products which are amazing (and smell fabulous too 😉). I'm happy to say that I've finally found my hair stylist!

This was my first time going to Sarry, and it most certainly won't be my last.
My hair was long, dead, and hard to manage. As soon as I sat in the chair he knew exactly what to do and what I wanted. After going from long hair, I know have it cut just above my shoulders and I absolutely love it! He is incredible, and the products he uses are amazing.
