I lived here for the past 2.5 years. Overall I enjoyed my time.
Pros:
- Juanita has been really great and easy to work with
- work orders were taken care of without excessive waits
- location is incredible. Being able to walk to shows at the belly up was awesome
Cons:
- prices are high for the quality/sizes of the rooms
-room finishing had issues (counters with rough wood edges, old appliances, overall just kind of felt shambled together)
-rooms do get hot. Plan on using a portable AC as long as its allowed.
This was great for the period of my life I was here: graduated college and moved

Great property and location in Solana Beach. Solid size units. Juanita the property manager is awesome. Where my disdain comes from is the fact i lived in my studio for 3 months and received a dismal return of my security deposit. Had to break lease early due to COVID.. They have the the gall to charge me $400 to paint nearly spotless walls? Wow, Elan. Thank you for letting me get absolutely blasted by whatever crook paint vendor you deemed worthy for the job.

Absolutely nothing special about these apartments. Well that's not true, they are special in regards to how terrible everything operates. Toilet rocks, hot and cold water reversed, faucets loose. Months for anything to get fixed and then went into the apartment without any notification. Very hot with a super loud train. We tolerated all that because of the location and primarily because the manager Sandy was so nice. But she found a new job and the blonde woman they replaced her was a complete nightmare. TOTAL NIGHTMARE of a lady. ugh

The apartments are insanely HOT in the summer. If noise bothers you, be prepared for the train horn that blares all the time coming into the train station. Way overpriced. When I moved in, the sink and taps were super loose. There was no water pressure in the kitchen sink. The toilet teeters when you sit on it. The fan didn't work which even when it got fixed didn't do much for the stifling heat. It took almost 2 months for them to get the fan fixed and all of that I would have just brushed off and dealt with, except when they did finally fix it, (also entering without notice), they broke the light

I have really enjoyed living at Elan Sandpiper. The place is literally a block away from the beach and the Brigantine. I frequently take my little dog to the dog beach. Sandy Castro, the apartment manager, is super friendly, professional, and exceptional at managing the property and responding to any questions. My only regret is that I will be moving due to a job relocation. Like most other properties, if you have a pet, you are required to pay a pet fee and a deposit. You will be pleasantly surprised that cable and internet are reasonably priced and that rent includes electricity. My unit was

Location, location, and location is all this place has to offer. I was a resident and everything you read in regards to the management company is true. They are horrible. No one returned phone calls, the water was constantly being shut off without notice. Oh if they do need to send a notice, it will be scotch-taped to your front door. In the time I lived there, three leasing agents came and went. They have a car towing service on call and will tow you in a heartbeat!! It happened to two of my neighbors. The leasing agent at the time, gave a service worker (carpet cleaner) a key to my apt without

Worst management ever. Wait and find a better place in a private residence.
When I moved in, the apartment wasn't clean, not so much as vacuumed. I spent 3 months begging for several repairs which were only completed when my mom came to visit me and literally sat in their main office, refusing to leave for 2 days until they completed the repairs. (Thanks mom!)
I recently moved out & they charged me their full fee for painting & cleaning the apartment despite an online record system showing they never did this before I moved in. They have an online system which shows all the documentation

My boyfriend and I moved in this past December and have been very impressed with our Property Manager's quick response to our needs as well as her customer service. Lidizel is very approachable and attentive. Since living here Ivan, the property's maintenance technician, has enhanced the property's curb appeal through lighting and walkway repairs.
The property itself is cute and has everything one might need, not to mention the location is spectacular.
