Services
Appointments at Lance Lappin Salon must be secured with a credit card at the time of scheduling. A FULL fee will be charged to your credit card for cancellations and appointments missed without a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice. Gratuity is customary for excellent service and always left to the discretion of our clients.

They lost my check and those of 6 customers for hair service and asked us to re- issue the checks with No apology or compensation to customers for inconvenience. The professional thing would have been for them to absorb the cost. Employees have repeatedly charged me incorrect price for hair service. They recently never booked a hair appointment I made in person .

A wonderful, wonderful haircut from Lance today that felt every bit as transformative as the first time i visited almost 15 years ago. The care and simple human kindness that Lance puts into his work is amazing, as is his artistry. Lance has been cutting my hair for over 20 years. He is dedicated to his clients and it shows. Yesterday, I was going for a new look and he took a lot of time and precision to get it just right. I’ve also had great experiences with many other stylists and colorists over the years - Ivy, JV, Nicole, Marco, Kiyo and Karla - and they are all excellent. And it’s more than a salon, it’s a caring community, infused with warmth, wisdom and humor. No wonder clients travel from all over NYC to the heart of Tribeca to visit the salon. Reading it over, it's even more true today. During these horrible stressful times seeing Lance and Ivy is like a balm that washes over you. It's not just the physical part (and getting hair washed and cut is a definite sensory experience) but it's also the metaphysical aspect. While my hair is cut, my soul is elevated and my spirits lifted.
Part therapy, part schmooze session, part relaxation therapy, all parts best haircut ever. No one has ever cut my hair like Lance and no one ever will. But it's also how the vibe of the place reflects his personality

This is my first haircut since the pandemic and I'm very very picky with my haircuts. Ivy did an amazing job giving me a beautiful natural cut. My hair feels light, healthy and shiny. I felt at ease the whole time and left feeling grateful for this oasis during Covid in NYC. I will be coming back!

After living in the neighborhood for 6 years I finally made my way into Lance Lappin. I heard amazing things and just like that I am a customer. A bit of a bumpy road trying to make the appointment, however Karla was the best! She transformed my hair and gave me a wonderful cut.
I loved it so much I brought my son (almost 2yr) for his 5th haircut and she was so patient and caring. He was not easy and yet gave him a great new haircut.

There are stylists and then there are stylists. My experience with JV left me disappointed. He is a great guy but not the best of stylists so if you want to get your money's worth, this is not the place to go or the person to get it from. My $110 haircut plus gratuity was wasted. I had to get another haircut.

DO NOT let Monique cut your hair. This is THE WORST hair cut I have ever gotten. Walking out of the studio I thought it looked slightly off but she has curled my hair so it was not noticeable. I have pin straight hair and it looks like a child took sissies to it. It is completely uneven and "layers" are at least 2 inches above the rest of the hair and also uneven. She RUINED my long hair I am going to a different salon to fix it and will lose 5 inches when all of it is done when I told her I wanted 1 inch. BEWARE!!

I don't normally leave reviews unless the service has been out of the ordinary or totally the opposite. I believe you get what you pay for and never mind paying a premium for a great service but After paying nearly $90 for a haircut I feel terribly ripped off. My medium length hair was completely butchered, now it has no shape and it's impossible to comb. Furthermore, I went to a Tribeca salon to get my hair styles not faded like in a $15 Dominican barbershop uptown. I really love my hair and these people ruined it. It will take months before it goes back to normal. Shame on you!

I've been coming to Sanda for years now for my color - and to Lance's salon in general for any of my hair style needs. Everyone from the front desk to shampoo to artists are all so friendly and great to be around! It's so fun to go in and I never have a bad time. Extra props to the shampoo and prep team - you guys work wonders!

I love my cut. Regina did a fantastic job with what I asked. I wanted to go shorter but with my type of hair, it could have easily looked like a box on my head. The cut I got is easy to style and I love it.
I appreciate a stylist who LISTENS rather than doing some standard cut they give everyone and that can cater to what each client needs based on hair type, face shape and every day styling habits.
I would recommend this salon if you've got the bucks!

I've been going to Lance Lappin for over 20 years.
I now live in Massachusetts but on the spur of moment decided to visit Lance for the first time in a couple of years.
I have the worst hair, thin wispy and now showing a nice bald spot!
Lance did the best cuts when I had hair and still does the best now there's a lot less.
He spends a LOT of time on a cut, not the usual 15 or 25 minutes and the results are incredible. He actually LISTENS to you and his advice is always good. I got back to Cape Cod late last night, and already have I've had two compliments on the new cut,

I have been going to Lance Lappin for years now and it is fantastic! I get highlights as well as hair cuts there and I have NEVER had a bad experience! Every single staff member there is so welcoming and nice and their stylists are incredibly talented.
While every stylist is great there, I can't praise Nicole enough! She is fantastic and I highly recommend this salon.

I needed a men's cut that could be fun on the weekend, but great in the board room. I checked in with Chester and couldn't be happier! Chester knew exactly the cut that would work for my hair type - and spent the time to ensure it was perfect.
I especially appreciated how Chester took time at the end to show me how to 'recreate' the style when I get home - or when getting ready for work in the morning.

They are quintessential professionals with outstanding stylists, colorists, make up artists - you name it, they've got it covered and covered well. Lance is an authentic genius. He is an artist of the haircut, and knows what works for YOU . My wife and daughter are equally enthusiastic. My wife raves about Ivy's hair coloring and says she is as much a genius in that realm as Lance is in cutting hair. My daughter recently moved to San Francisco but returns to NYC for haircuts.
Update 2015: Lance is still as wondrous as ever. Ivy took a few years off but is back again
