I loved my experience at NoHo Hair Salon! I was looking for a reputable hair salon in Greenwich Village that wasn't overpriced but also had great reviews, and this salon hit every mark. I requested Penny after reading some reviews. She was so, so kind and personable. She really made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted when cutting my hair. I cut about 2 inches off and Penny shaped and styled it exactly how I asked. Definitely will be going back!!

I hadn't had a cut since pre-pandemic, April-ish? The Hair Goddesses and my Guardian Hair Angels blessed my hair journey by guiding me to Penny's chair. I am elated with my results. I am a curly haired boy. Penny replicated the edgy Instagram-ready creative punk cut I asked for to an absolute T with one photo and with an absolute command of her craft. Penny really set me up for success this past weekend. Had a horrible experience at a different barber shop which left me maimed and wearing hats up until I walked into this deceivingly large salon. A bit of a wait but two hairdressers were unavailable leaving them a bit tied up. Penny fixed every problem the last barber created, up to the uneven hairline I had going on in the back. She also reset my hair to fall to its natural side again. She made me feel valued without eating too much time up. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had in a while and coming back for sure!

I feel bad writing this, because Angela was nice, but she butchered my hair. I asked for a subtle balyage (natural blonde feel) on my light brown hair. She didn't seem to understand that a balyage could be painted from the root - she said balyage is only the bottom half of your hair. I should have walked away then. But she talked me into getting highlights with foils. Y'all, she used bleach. And took so long to foil my head that the back section was too processed and she had to wash the back of my head out while the rest of my head processed. I was horrified but kept my cool. The grand

I went to the Noho Hair Salon a few weeks ago to get a trim, as I had recently moved to the area and could no longer go to my longtime hairdresser. As soon as the first scissor cut came and I saw a huge chunk of hair fall to the floor, I knew that I wasn't going to be thrilled with my trim. I gave the benefit of the doubt, even when I left with my hair sticking straight up because the hairdresser didn't bother to smooth it down after a rough blowdry. Penny is great. Raphael is great. DO NOT SEE RICARDO. He cut off a chunk of my hair then tried to hide it by blow drying the chunk away. But I realized something was wrong, and combed thru my hair and literally pulled the chunk out. It's one thing to make a mistake, but worse to hide it. RICARDO IS HORRIBLE.

When I arrived for my hair styling appointment, I was greeted by a very rude and unprofessional old man. I suspect he had no to little work experience as a hair stylist. When he washed my hair, he splashed tons of water on my dress. When he blew-dry my hair, my hair almost got burned. I had to stop him from blowing my hair and wanted to ask another stylist. Unfortunately his colleague was busy at the time. I ended up walking away with half of my hair still wet.
To top all of this off, the man asked me for $60 for the styling and showed no signs of apology. This is easily the worst experience

Went into NoHo Hair on a whim (after reading Yelp reviews on several nearby salons!). Lucky enough to find Penny... who talked us through a nerve-wracking (for someone afraid to have her hair cut) lesson on how to keep long hair healthy by keeping it properly trimmed. And then she quite properly trimmed it!! Couldn't be happier! Penny is a gem! And a $30 haircut more than compensates for the simple (but clean)ambiance!!

Went in as a walk in on a random Sunday afternoon snd Penny took care of me right away! Having not cut my hair i the last four years, I was extremely nervous about getting it chopped but she was reassuring, friendly, and skillful at her job! Found my new hair stylist, and will definitely keep going back :)

This place is a gem! I had been procrastinating a haircut for a long time and was undecided about where to go get a cut. I happened to be walking past this salon and the sign with 26$ for wash and cut seemed like a good deal! It was Sunday evening and the salon was empty so I didn't have to wait at all! I'm glad I took an impulsive decision. Penny was great, she took her time to understand what I had in mind and helped me figure out what would look good. What I especially liked is that she would ask and cross check with me at every point about the length and the style. I really liked

I absolutely ADORE this salon. I'm normally very anxious about seeing new hairstylists, but I was heavily recommended to go see Penny by a friend who had gotten an awesome haircut from her. The appointment process was easy, and I was able to see Penny the day after with no wait times. She was super friendly and likeable right off the bat :) I basically told her I just want a shorter, more volumized look because my hair looked flat and atrocious. She then cut off most of dead hair, gave me layers and BAM! Perfection. I can't believe it only cost $26, and even less with a student discount

I was desperate for a last minute blow out and stumbled upon this little place! Let me just say at first I was not excepting much because every time I find "random" hair salons, the results are horrible. I was so happy when they said they can take me in (45 minutes before their closing time). Penny not only is the kindest soul you will ever meet but she takes her time and really delivers - her blowout was magical! It came out beautiful and it was just what I wanted! I live in Boston but I now know where to go for last minute blow drys in the city!

Ok i had a great experience and haircut with Tony. He gave me a nice style and useful tips.
I came back, but this time it was a lady. Total disaster. She doesn't style, according to her, so I guess she's just an expensive pair of hands to use a buzzer. If that's what you want, buy a machine and do it yourself same results.
If you see her walk out. Just walk out. Come back when one of the two Italian owners is free.
Very disappointed by my second visit. I will think twice about going the next time. To bad I thought Tony did a ****ing AAA job the first time.

Maria is the best!
In the last ten years I have had maybe, maybe, a handful of good haircuts. My head is shaped kinda funky and I have that thin baby hair. Maria took care of me, didn't rush me, took her time and started the cut long saying, "hey if it doesn't look right we can always make it shorter, so we make sure you get a good cut", instead of, "you wanna pay me twice? Cuz I'm giving you two haircuts"

I now wish I could give this place negative stars.
Jasmine did permanent structural damage to my curly, weak hair, stretching it, ripping it, shearing it close to the crown, snapping it like twine. She split the whole top layer from shoulder to crown.
No one should cut straight hair, curly hair, or ANY HAIR the way she did. She sheared from all the way up the side of my head trying to make short "layers" by pulling it tight while wet.
Curly haired people and anyone else that likes having their ends neat/out of their faces beware. If you only want the (lower?) ends touched, don
