This place is a gem! A warm, clean, friendly salon where the stylists actually listen to their clients! Kyle is the greatest and works wonders with color. His scalp massage makes me forget we're in the middle of a pandemic....sends me right to nirvana! In case you haven't guessed by now, I highly recommend Salon Musa!

Do you tend to ask for cuts that look simple but require great precision to get it just the way you like it? Do you want a stylist who has extensive knowledge of color and is willing to take the time to give a thorough consult to achieve the look you want? If so, I recommend Salon Musa. I liked the conditioning treatment they have as well. My hair is on the finer end of coarse and sometimes it starts to tangle at the ends when it gets this long. There has been noticeably less tangling in the days following the treatment.

Absolutely love this place! Have been getting my hair cut by the owner, Bushi, for a few years now, he's a hair artist! He always gives me the effortless, intuitive "air cut" I ask for, I trust his style and judgement fully. Can't recommend this place enough. Everyone is lovely, the studio is stylish and while you are getting your hair cut, you might get a glimpse of a wedding happening at the church across the street!!

This place is my new favorite spot. Had crazy shoulder length messy Covid hair but Bushi sorted me right out. Finding a good place and person to really trust your hair with in NYC has for me always proven to be a challenge but I am now set going forward. It's a beautiful little gem of a salon right in my Soho neighborhood. The vibes are friendly and they were completely on point with being clean and careful during this crazy Covid era so I felt beyond safe. Bushi can figure out how to make the style you are looking for work for you. He's a thoughtful, kind and super talented guy

I've been seeing Kyle for cuts & color for almost a year and I ADORE him. It's always a super pricey visit but I always walk out of there feeling like a million bucks and I think it's worth every penny. The cuts tend to grow out really beautifully as well so I can manage quite a bit of time between visits.

Have gotten my hair cut with Bushi and happy with results. Just got my hair colored by Julie and love the color. I have naturally highlighted dark hair and she has managed to cover my greys and matched the highlights so I have a natural look. The best part is my hair feels amazing. Today is the day after and my hair feels softer and healthier than when I walked in. Love love loving the results! FYI my kids get their hair cut here too. My son has 3 cowlicks and he always comes out with a great cut that grows out so nicely. Soon we will get my husband in... family hair by Bushi!

Got a hair cut with Kyle today and will definitely be coming back to him again. He really took care to work with my hair and cut according to how it behaved, and delivered an excellent cut. Also was great in answering all my hair related questions, and taught me a few things, too. Usually I feel so nervous and awkward when going to get a cut, but this was just a delight.

I just moved to New York, and knew I needed to find a hairstylist I could actually trust. I'm very picky when it comes to my hair, and I like stylists to take in what I want and then make it better with their professional opinions. I had Kyle as my hairdresser, and let me tell you, he went above & beyond to make sure I got MORE than what I wanted. He was able to decipher my gibberish and turn it into a gorgeous new hair color. I had a balayage done by Mike H. a few weeks back and truly loved the results. It was my first balayage experience and I'm so glad to have done this at Salon Musa. Mike paid attention to what I wanted, and took extreme care in giving me updates along the way to make sure I felt comfortable throughout the process. The total appointment took a little over 3 hours and I walked out looking new and fabulous. I'd highly recommend Mike if you're on the fence about trying a new color!

I cannot say enough good things about this Salon. Specifically Mike. I followed Mike from another salon. I practically hunted him down (lol) and luckily I found out he works at this gem of a salon.
The salon itself is very conveniently located with a cool modern barber shop vibe. The owner and all the staff are extremely hospitable and the prices are right in line with the quality of service you are receiving.
And now for Mike. I have coarse thick almost black hair that I have struggled with my entire life. I finally found a colorist who listens like a friend and communicates like a teacher

Bushi has been cutting my hair for nearly fifteen years now. No one understands men's hair or can tame my cowlicks like he can. I'm very picky with my hair. Very. I have long straight hair and just want simple long layers in the back in a V-shape with angles at the front but it seems so hard to find someone who can do this without looking super choppy. Its the closest to what I wanted in a while. Not perfect, so I wouldn't go again but close. i did have to come home and snip a little myself so that it didn't look so uneven but much less than I have had to at other places.

I came in to fix a very bad haircut I had been given a few months ago, and thank goodness Mike was there to save the day. He was incredibly thorough and clearly experienced. I just got a haircut from Mike! He was super attentive and very experienced. He could tell that I had not-so-great haircut before this and was able to fix it! Oh god! It feels amazing to get a haircut done by someone who actually listens to you!!!
Saturday at noon I made two appointments for short hair, I was accommodated quickly with hair dresser Yuya. One of my close Japanese friends who is also head dresser told me to go to him. So I did!
Yuya listened to what I wanted, gave me recommendations, was fun and didn't take too long to finish.
I seriously recommend him and both my girlfriend and I left there feeling fresh like margaritas.

For a very long time, I have been wanting to make a change to my hair in simply giving it a more vibrant and natural color as if touched by the sun. I explained to Julie that I do not color my hair and am very hesitant in doing anything unnatural to it. Julie listened to what exactly I wanted and took the time to explain in detail exactly how she would go about the procedure step by step. I had a stylist elsewhere add bronze/golden tones to my hair which I hated... They were obviously a mistake and I needed it fixed asap. Julie listened carefully, made sure to talk me through the process and really understood exactly what I needed. Coming from an experience where I already felt afraid of someone making my hair orange, I really appreciated Julie's extra care to make me feel comfortable. I highly recommend her work -- and am going back for a haircut with her asap!

I just had my amazing haircut by the owner Bushi. What can I say? The results came beautiful! I wanted to keep my hair length with a more layers for my haircut and Bushi made the job outstanding! I feel like I am bloated. The shampoo was also like in heaven. He did a massage to me on my head and I felt so much relaxed. Great job Musa! I will definitely come back!
