Joey has drastically improved my hair quality over the last 2 years. I'm tender headed and he's extremely gentle with my very curly, thick hair while brushing and blow drying. I love the way his cuts my hair as well. At home maintenance is much easier when going to him every 6-9 weeks professionally. He has also mastered my blonde highlights. Having course hair, I was nervous my hair's integrity would be compromised with bleaching, but it's Very shiny and healthy under his care. Had come to this salon because I was referred by a friend and learned about their referral program. I booked online but there was no place to add info about the referral nor was it clear how the referral works. The front desk person told me when I walked in that I would just need to provide the email of the friend who referred me. After my haircut - which was great - I was told that’s not how the referrals work. Stylists are great but poor service.

I've been going to Trent here for a year now and I always leave this salon with exactly what I asked for with both cut and color! The employees here do a great job of accommodating me with any requests, working with my schedule and helping me understand details and expectations for my hair.

I took my mom there as a treat for her and we were treated HORRIBLY the entire time. We were rushed through our appointment even though we had arrived on time, and my mom's hair began falling out soon after receiving her cut and color at this place. It should be mentioned that they incentivize reviews so naturally customers would leave positive reviews in order to receive discounts or whatever the case may be. Providing incentives for reviews in AGAINTS YELP POLICY and this salon had been doing that for many years. Not sure if they still do it today. But please read the MANY negative reviews

Love this salon! Was looking for somewhere knew when I moved to the city, found Shampoo Ave B and decided to give it a try. I absolutely love Angela. She gives an amazing cut and is so sweet.

When my stylist moved upstate I read a ton of Yelp reviews all over Manhattan and Brooklyn and decided to give Erik a try. I had a great experience at Shampoo Ave B! As soon as I checked in, the two ladies at the front desk greeted me with a warm smile and offered me a drink. And Erik, who cut my hair, did an amazing job! He made sure to ask me what kind of cut I wanted and before even taking the scissors, he made sure he had an understanding of my hair texture. I also loved the products that he used when washing my hair. He was super friendly and was so precise when cutting my hair into a blunt bob. So thankful my friend recommended me to go to this salon. Definitely will be coming back!

I had a really bizarre experience with Alexis. She insisted over and over that I needed to cut my hair a certain way, and I told her multiple times that I didn't like it, but she kept insisting I was wrong. I mean, I'm the one who would've had to live with it. She didn't suggest any alternatives either. This my way or the highway approach was truly baffling.

I was also informed that they would make an exception so that I wouldn't have to pay for a haircut I didn't get because my only option was something I didn't want. How is that an acceptable policy? I have

Not sure this is the best place to get a good interesting short hair cut. I called and asked if they had any rec for a stylist that does good short haircuts, and got two names. Met with one person and they were nice but the haircut wasn’t particularly special.
Knowing how to cut short hair is an art form, and funky cuts take time to master. This place I’m sure is great for normal long hair, and colorings etc, but my search for someone who cuts short hair in a cool way continues.

It's been awhile since this happened, but since this place continues to incentivize patrons to leave 5 star reviews, I need to leave an honest one. Angela completely butchered my hair. Considering she's a Level 3 stylist, this is completely unacceptable. The stylist who fixed my hair was so appalled that she wouldn't even allow me to return to Shampoo Avenue B for them to fix my hair, and fixed it herself for free. Avoid this salon at all costs.

Jess did my color today and the results were great. Very happy to have chosen this salon to go back to blonde after two years of letting my hair grow naturally. Andrea was absolutely amazing! My first time here and I couldn't be more pleased. It had been about 4 months since my last highlight appointment, and my hair needed a lot of work. Andrea was awesome and asked a TON of questions about exactly what I wanted and gave me her opinion without being too pushy. She did an amazing job, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Had an amazing first experience at Shampoo Ave B! My stylist Trent cut and styled my hair perfectly, I am very happy with the results. JOEY worked some MAGIC on my hair this weekend. I came in with an at-home fail and damaged hair, and I left so much happier than I could have ever expected.

Joey really listened to what I wanted and my concerns. He gave me 2 options, and let me pick which I preferred.

He turned my uneven and VERY brassy (almost orange) hair into beautiful buttery blonde locks.

This was my first time going to him, but it sure won't be the last.

It has admittedly been over a year since I came to the salon (February 2020) but I felt I needed to share my experience since so many people recommended this salon so highly to me. I went in for a cut (no color) and sat waiting for a while. I wasn't in a hurry so I wasn't too bothered, but after a bit the stylist (Amanda) came up and apologized for the wait and had someone start my shampoo. She's super sweet and constantly keeps you in the loop of what she's doing. I'm not used to that bc my hairdressers in the past just did their own thing so I was thankful. I love this place. I used to live around the corner but even though I live in Brooklyn this is my favorite place!! I get my hair cut with Ash regularly and he always does an amazing job. My hair crazy long and thick but he always kills it. Booking is super easy and they have promotions often.

Shampoo Avenue B, how I needed you in my life! First and foremost, Shampoo Avenue B is definitely following all protocol and quite religiously at that. When I came in they took my temperature and made sure I sanitized my hands and the salon was definitely operating at less capacity. I had made an appointment for a much-needed haircut with Akasha who was an absolute gem. She was super patient and attentive in what I wanted. Yes, this place is slightly pricey but trust me when I say it's worth every penny. I refuse to go anywhere else!
