If you have more than one inch of regrowth or have dark hair and are looking to become platinum it is recommended to schedule a consultation and/or book for a Multi Techniques Service. One single toner and blow out is included. Lightener is applied from scalp to ends. More than one service may be required when going from permanent color or dark hair to platinum.
Being born and bred in Manhattan to an artsy family, Ariel found and developed his passion for hair at a very early age. He has worked under some of the most sought after stylists and colorists in Manhattan, such as Oscar Blandi and Warren-Tricomi- where he trained and evolved his vision for buttery blondes, rich brunettes and sultry reds.

I recently relocated to New York City and was looking for a new salon to make a big change - as a natural blonde, I was hoping to turn my hair into a deep, trendy copper color. Jess (@lucha.studio on Instagram) is an actual miracle worker. She was able to match my color exactly to the example I brought in for her. Since then, she has been my go-to gal for all cuts and colors. I'm one of those clients who changes their mind (a LOT) and she's so flexible and accommodating. I get compliments CONSTANTLY on my hair and can't imagine going anywhere else in NYC.

My initial experience here for eyelash extensions went well, so I decided to try this place out for a hair cut. I purchased a Pulsd deal for hair cut & blow out, which cost $49. The appointment I made had to be rescheduled twice, due to unavailability of stylists. I get it... We are living in COVID times and things are unpredictable. This review is long overdue. I have been seeing Brittany for all of my hair needs for the last 6 years and she is the only person I trust with my blonde. I have done Keratins, cuts, and usually get foilayage done for my bright blonde.
All of the stylists at Palms are caring and I always see clients leaving with beautiful hair. I also started doing brow lamination with Josclynn this year, and my eyebrows that were once thin, and lifeless, have now transformed into that I consider, model brows :)

I’ve been going to Palms Salon since I’ve moved to NYC in 2019. The place gets booked up fast so you need to allow at least 2-3 weeks to schedule if you want to go in on the weekend. I’ve booked with a couple different stylists and have been thrilled with the outcome every time. I’m a brunette and have had experiences in the past where my hair is totally fried from being over-bleached. This will never happen here. I had what I felt to be a poor experience at this salon and not great customer service. To discuss further my stylist recommended I reach out to the owner of salon, Brittany, but that they could not give me any contact information for her other than her instagram profile. Taking their advice I sent her a DM asking her to contact me so we could discuss further. The message was not rude in any way, simply saying I was told to reach out to her this way regarding an appointment. She ignored the message but continued to post insta stories. I then messaged her again 2 days later, which she again ignored

Marie was amazing and super cool! My hair came out EXACTLY as I hoped it would but even better and without the brittle, post-highlight feeling. These are honestly the best highlights I have gotten. They look so natural but so bright, as if I just spent a month on the beach. I will 100% be going back and am so glad I finally found a great colorist!

I’ve been seeing trish and she does not disappoint she has been making my blonde hair dreams come true and she truly cares about making sure you understand the whole process before and makes sure you have the right products after to keep your hair nice and healthy!! I always walk out so happy which is rare for me but whenever I go to palms salon and see Trish I always know my hair is in good hands!! There's a million reasons why Ariel is my hairdresser but I can start off by saying no one and I mean no one has ever gotten my hair to look this good! I use to love getting platinum blonde highlights but Ariel has this way of knowing exactly what looks best for you. We went with a more dark root golden blonde balayage and I'm absolutely in love!!! It's more me, more natural and less maintenance and I wouldn't of done anything different if he wasn't brutally honest; he made sure he was very clear on how the process would go and what I would need to do to maintain it. Brittany is the most gifted and talented stylist I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. My hair is very curly (thick, tight, dry curls), and not everyone knows how to care for it. In the past I’ve had to sacrifice hair health to achieve the desired shade of blond. Then I found Brittany. Brittany and her team are so knowledgeable and do phenomenal work. Ariel is amazing!! I have only had my blonde hair highlighted a few times before, and I know basically nothing about hair care and coloring. My hair was in rough shape, especially after quarantine. He took the time to talk me through the benefits of trying a balayage and helped me achieve hair I didn't know I could have. Best color, cut, and style I've ever gotten at a salon. Sheyla is THE BEST!
I came here about a month and a half ago to get some layers + a trim. My hair is very thick and wavy, making it hard to work with, but Sheyla knew exactly what to do. It has grown out so nicely too - I'm obsessed! I can honestly say this is one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. Can't wait to go back!

Highly recommend Trish if you're looking to step up your bronde game! I'm new to the city and booked at Palms on a whim - zero regrets. I wasn't sure what I wanted so Trish got to know my personality and showed me photos + made recommendations. She is super communicative and lets you know what's going on the whole time. Even when she cut my hair, she did it little by little asking me how I felt about length and recommended ideas. The end result was fabulous and exactly the change I needed. I will 100% be returning!

I have been a client of Brittany's for a long time, and was happy to follow her to Palms when she opened. Aside from her great personality, Brittany is very transparent and honest throughout every step of the process. When I started with her, I was super dark brown. I am now fully platinum. I would not have trusted anyone else to get me this light. Brittany's number one concern has always been preserving the health and integrity of my hair. I've been back to Palms a few times now after trying a handful of other salons in the city. The atmosphere is super relaxing and welcoming, as opposed to some of the other spots I'd visited where there's more of a "get in and get out" approach to customers.
Each visit, I've requested Ariel, who is awesome. He's made me really happy even when I didn't necessarily know what I wanted when I first walked in. He's cut my hair, given me some curtain bangs, and also applied a restorative gloss for my color. Would definitely trust him with cut and color!

I came to Palms Salon after a horrible experience at another salon that left me with orange bleach spots and uneven, too ashy highlights. My before picture was after my first session with Sheyla, where she was honest with me and said she could tone it and we could do a stem cell treatment, but more bleach so soon would make my hair fall off. We made an appointment to do the highlights the following month and wow! First, I asked to have 2 inches cut off of my hair and I definitely got closer to 4/5 inches (before photo was the day before my haircut). I'm pretty devastated considering the fact that I've been trying to grow out my hair for a while and wanted to keep as much length as possible. I did have some damage that needed to be removed but I would have appreciated the transparency before cutting off more than I had requested.
I was also quoted $73 for my haircut (see photo of confirmation email with price attached/bank charge) and was then charged

Very disappointed with the service for a Haircut , it was rushed - the stylist was double booked. I came in for a simple trim and wanted layering around face. I left with a blunt chopped piece at my chin that does not blend at all and the next layer well over 6 inches in difference . Regretting taking a chance as a new client here . Gave 2 stars for cleanliness and quality hair products used the salon is adorable.
UPDATE : for the false information stated about late arrival from the owner (who was not there) I arrived at 7:09 PM . Therefor the 15 minute grace period was more than respected it

My two previous stylists were at a well known salon and both moved to California. After salons started to reopen I booked with someone available at the same location and the stylist was completely inexperienced. I left the appt having bleach on my head for 8 hours and my healthy hair broken off and extremely damaged. After paying over 400 dollars (more than my usual appts) the manager and owner avoided me when I tried to communicate that this stylist did not listen nor care my hair was ruined. The manager said she is newly promoted but their solution was to over me a toner which was just a waste
