Capitol Skyline Hotel
In the heart of Washington DC's hottest new neighborhood, the Capitol Skyline Hotel redefines the notion of an urban chic hotel. Capitalizing on this coveted setting, many of our guest rooms offer a breathtaking view of the Capitol dome through expansive windows.

The place I hear is used to help homeless people through a program called PEP-V. The rooms are spacious and the food is great.

Hosted a training with 90 people. The hotel was great. Staff were courteous, rooms were clean and nice. Not too high price considering the great location. The food they brought in to the training was very good. And a nice complimentary breakfast. Oh yeah, the location is amazingly close to House and Senate office buildings for fly ins.

Disappointing. This hotel doesn’t offer any good amenities. The pool was closed when we were there, and this was before Covid, and when it was warm outside. It didn’t have a nice restaurant for dinner either, or any in room service. The location was the best thing, since it was located close to the main DC attractions, and the room was quite comfortable.

So apparently this place just casually shuts off the heat and ac without telling you causing the rooms to be 80 degrees constantly with no circulation, front desk sent up a tiny fan that barely worked. view was great but hotel and staff left much to be desired. I would rather have the coronavirus than stay here and unfortunately have to again because of their cancellation policy.

This hotel was one of the worst hotels i have stayed in...ever!. the location was bad, the sink was broke, the toilet got stuffed and couldn't flush (on several occasions), and there was a blackout. Unfortunately, the staff and general mgr made it worse by ignoring the safety concerns of the patrons. Pay a little xtra and go elsewhere!!

My daughter's club team stayed here last weekend for a volleyball tournament. We came with 3 teams of 15- 18 year old girls and their parents, taking about 40 rooms. First of all, the hotel is a dated musty dump. The heating component is from the 70's and the updates they have done are minimal and superficial. So let's get to the main issues- On the first morning we woke up to a blackout. Ok, we were pretty calm initially as things happen that we can't always control. The problem was there was ABSOLUTELY no communication from the hotel about the situation. So after taking my

The pictures of this hotel are deceiving. Stayed here for five days. The rooms are older than they look. Our bed has a clump of hair on it and when we asked for a new comforter upon arrival they had none left so gave us a brown old blanket. When room service came to change our bed she grabbed the hair and flicked it on the ground. This shows their sanitary habits. The bathrooms were old and the shower head had such low pressure it felt as if it was dripping water. Parking costs $40 A NIGHT. ITS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. The only reason this hotel gets a 2 star is its location. It's fairly close

Nice. Clean rooms. Great breakfast. Only issue was that the room we received had an AC with issues but addressed it to the front desk and the girl upfront very kindly moved us to another room. Thank you Capitol Skyline. But just the transition on how quick it was great experience with staff. Staff also had quick answers on any question given.

This is an excellent location for easy access to touristy locations in DC. The management at Capital Skyline certainly knows that, and likely relies on that standard in order to sustain their margins. First, the rooms are clean and relatively spacious, and ours had a view if the pool below. There is also a nice complementary shuttle we took in the morning to the main areas such as the Smithsonian museums and Capital Hill. The Happy Hour in the bar offered wine and beer for a few bucks off regular prices, and we enjoyed a few at the nice tables near the pool area. The hotel is a nice throwback which

The pros are: Friendly environment, great pool, food was good at the bar near the pool, the beds were very comfy and clean.
The Cons are: Water pressure in the shower was very low, water did not go down fast in the tub, not much to eat in the area.

We had a great time in the pool. There is lots of construction in the area but it did not affect us.

I'm not sure why this hotel gets such lower ratings but as far as my experience is concerned, this is a great hotel!

Originally I paid for my entire stay before and after being at this hotel and I've had nothing but a flawless, seamless experience. Granted this isn't a Hyatt or Marriot, who cares? This is a professionally-run hotel and I'd like to think it continues to generate business because that's exactly what it does.

Pool is open late until 11 pm. Breakfast buffet is excellent and rather than paying for it out of pocket, you can add the bill as well as additional

I haven't even stayed here yet.....
So I'm looking up hotels in DC. Tried calling them tonight (12am, it's now 12:20am and have tried other "extensions") no one has picked up the phone!
What kind of service is that?
If it's as simple as not answering a call for over 20mins then what other bad service will they give?
Already not happy with them. Wow.
....
So I gave them another try.....
Still no answer.

5 for service. My husband and I accidentally each booked a different hotel for the same night. Emmy was very pleasant in assisting me to cancel my visit no charge. I'm bummed that the only reason we need to cancel is that the other hotel had a strict policy; based on customer service we would likely have had a better stay here!

Capital Skyline was a solid 3 1/2 stars for me. The value delivered has to be part of the equation when rating the Capital Skyline. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby featured decent mid century modern furniture, fixtures and vibe. The room was fine and my bed was comfortable. The room was a little worn but keep in mind this is not a 4 or 5 star place. The location is in the up and coming neighborhood near the National's stadium and the Navy Yard. This area of DC is really cleaned up and going through big time updates. Everything I wanted to get to in DC while there

If you want pictures of the Capitol, then the Capitol Skyline Hotel does not disappoint!
It's a bit tired, but the prices are quite reasonable.
The front staff are friendly and helpful.
I was not comfortable walking around the hotel at night, but called a cab to visit the Capitol.
The room and bed were comfortable and saw many pizzas being delivered. ;)

Not a great hotel...and definitely not a bargain.

First stay here booked through a third party. One of my issues was the lack of clarity as to what was and what wasn't included in the pricing. Third party site seemed to indicate that breakfast and parking were included, but the hotel differed in their view of the same items.

If it had been just a small difference in pricing - I'm ok with that, but when parking is an additional $40 per night and breakfast for 2 is another $28 - that means my room that I thought was about $150 per night now costs about $218. That's a big difference

Our stay at the Capitol Skyline was pleasant. He view from the room made it worth it for sure. The room did what it needed to do. I live in Las Vegas and I'm from New York City...so myhotel standardsare pretty high.
My only complaint would be the location of he ice machine....it's in the basement. The microwave and coffee machine are also in the same area. Beside those three oddly placed items the hotel again was decent. The staff was pleasant and helpful when asked for something.
The location is great. I toured DCand I think my most expensive Uber ride was $11.

Not sure why it has so many bad reviews,
I stayed here for 2 night about two weeks ago and I have to say my experience here was good, their staff is very friendly and helpful, I don't have any complaints whatsoever on room cleanliness, enjoyed the pool on our last night and it was fun, they have lifeguards on duty.
The food you order at the bar is Good, nothing amazing but can't complain.
Overall enjoyed my stay here.

The Capitol Skyline was a big let down. We booked this hotel in a rush, based on the misleading pictures that were shown on the booking website. That was a big mistake and, as a Yelp Elite, I can't believe I didn't take a minute to check the hotel's reviews on Yelp. Seriously, shame on me.

When we checked in, the person at the front desk wasn't friendly at all. It's not that I expect anything special, but a smile and warm welcome would've been nice. It's the minimum you should get from people who work in hospitality.

The hotel building is old and it's only

We booked this hotel on kayak last minute when coming up to DC for an event. It's located right near the National's stadium so it would be really convenient if you were going to go to a game there. Apparently they have pool parties in the summer all the time and from the look of the pool area, it looked like it would be fun.

Now to the hotel room- checked in around 4 pm Friday with no issues. $30 for parking, in a parking deck. Expensive, yes. However your car is going to be safer in there than just on the street. You use your hotel room key to enter the parking garage as well.

Don't be fooled by the photos. This hotel was a dirty motel with some make up. We got out of the elevator on the 5th floor to an overwhelming sewer smell. When we got in the room my stomach literally started hurting from the smell. The room looked like a dingy motel with a coat of paint. It's like they only remodeled half of the room. The tub was cracking and peeling like it had just been painted over an old tub. There were weird stains on the lamp shade.
When I went down to the front desk to complain about the smell, I just wanted a refund and to go somewhere else, but all they would

I can only make out this review for one night for business. The hotel is still undergoing renovation so I assume it will one get better.

From the outside, you wouldn't think that there's a modern day hotel housed inside. Brand new furnishings and tapistery.

The rooms are still a bit out-dates but that doesn't really matter for one night.

I do want to point out, that the staff was suprisingly amazing. Especially, sorry for saying this but i forgot his name, the asias guy who did the night shift. He was so friendly and attetive that he basically made the whole review positive
