The city is renting a number of rooms here for the homeless. They have several guards from Urban Alchemy to make sure the guests don't have visitors, even though the pandemic is effectively over and the city has reopened most businesses without a mask requirement. However, they're paying a staff of 4 (plus the UA markup) to make sure nobody has visitors in their rooms. That's an annualized cost of $500k or more out of our tax dollars for what benefit, exactly???
Aside from that, rooms seem okay but not great. I haven't interacted with staff much. And most guests seem to stay indoors, in their

Only ever been to San Francisco twice. The first time we had this hotel it was great. The second time my husband and I chose a different hotel.. big mistake! We ended up canceling our second night at the other hotel and stayed here! Any other time we plan to visit San Francisco this is definitely the hotel we're sticking with.

It was a fairly decent stay, the room was clean and comfortable and super spacious. Beds were also comfortable. It was nice to have onsite parking especially being in SF. The location was great and so close to many things. Golden Gate Bridge was literally blocks away. Only main complaint was the housekeeping person. At 11:20am I get a hard pounding on the door; almost made you think it was the police or something. When I opened the door, I had a very angry and annoyed staff look me up and down, telling me in a harsh tone that check out is at Noon, and walked away. My boyfriend and I had

It doesn't look like much from the outside. But I had to be in the city overnight before having brain surgery and this was the most affordable place with the least BAD reviews.

We were pleasantly surprised. The beds were comfy, the heater worked. The shower had an issue of scalding and freezing, almost at the same time, and my dehydrated stupid self was extremely relieved to see a bottle of water until I saw that it was $3.

But all in all, the place was comfy and livable.

A decent, relatively affordable place to stay in SF. Only a few blocks past the end of the 101 freeway if you're traveling south. It's on your right. Easy peasy. Places to grab a bite to eat all around. Some parking, rooms are clean and not tiny the way Union Square rooms can be, plenty of towels. Would stay there again.

Clean, great customer service, and a pretty good continental breakfast. There isnt much ventilation in the rooms, but the ac units are great for circulation. Parking is scarce, so come early in the evening to park. Pillows are crazy flat but overall great bedspread. Probably the best price w/ the best quality in the marina area. My family and I were very pleased! Will come again.

Well... stayed there for 1 night a week ago. it was pretty cold outside that night, so I've turned on the heater on max and it barely worked. my room has a nice remodelled bathroom, the only thing I liked but It was sooo freezing cold there. The good thing that they offer free parking, it's a huge bonus. There is a free breakfast as well. But it was middling. The most thing that impressed me are the cracked lampshades and all other trashy furniture and as I can see other reviews that's the common problem for all the units. Really, is it a big deal to buy the new lamp shades for

Great location, great price, free parking and a small continental breakfast. We stayed in a double queen deluxe, room was clean but dated. Curtains need to be thrown out and the room did have a slight musty smell. Stay on the back side, it is quieter from the road noise. Walls are a bit thin and you can hear your upstairs neighbor walking. Staff very friendly.

This review is for expectations only. First and foremost I will say the staff we encountered were helpful and kind. The rooms felt and looked clean. The location is great. What I'm about to say next is in no way meant to discourage anyone from staying here. I only want to leave an honest review from my experience for others to get a clear picture of what I experienced. Also as feedback so ownership can make improvements. The bad news is this, the room was outdated with a loud older AC unit, and an older mini refrigerator. The seal around the door of the mini refrigerator did not seal fully. The

Stayed 1 night at this motel style lodge near the Presidio. Room is clean, bathroom is on the small side. AC worked intermittent. Has limited parking and staff was generally friendly. Decent value for the money. Free coffee.

I stayed at La Luna 6 nights while in SF for a family emergency. Our group went from 3 of us to 2 to just me, and La Luna staff were absolutely flexible, responsive and warm helping us with our unknowable changing day to day situation, whether it was extending our stay, changing to a smaller room, stowing bags or anything else, they were perfect. The front desk staff even served as witnesses for my brother's health care directive the night before his surgery.

The motel is a block from Chestnut Street and its many restaurants. There's also a laundromat on Chestnut a block away.

Completely incompetent service. An error was made on checking in, we felt extremely unpleasant through everything. On the spot, coupled with all the other reviews (bed bugs, customer service, overprice and smell) i read during the wait, we decided to cancel everything and never come to this dilapidated hotel. Booked another room through hotel.com and couldn't have made a better decision.

I’ve got a smelly room with old (in bad condition) furniture. Shower has 2 water temperatures - cold and burning, it was hard to adjust to warm. I found only shampoo - no shower gel or conditioner.
At night you can hear people talking in nearby rooms, horns of the ships and how people walking behind the room door.
Good thing - room was clean.
It’s not like I expected something luxury, but next time I’ll live somewhere else.

Although I live in the Bay Area, I needed a hotel while my husband was in a nearby hospital. I was delighted and surprised to find such a reasonable and clean hotel in my beloved expensive city! The La Luna looks pretty run down from the outside. The halls are dark and a little creepy, so I was beginning to get concerned that the reviews I read were misleading as I approached my room. But lo and behold, the room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. The sheets were crispy clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. The rate was amazing ($105/night). The "

This hotel is great for family! Clean rooms, free parking, nice breakfast, everything is great! My family and I love it there before, but the shower flow need some fixing. The beds are good, great channels on the TV. Definitely coming back to this hotel for a vacation! The bad parts is that, the Wi-Fi is kinda slow, didn't worked on my phone and sometimes the noises outside gets louder, but it's OK, no worries. Thanks for the great support and service! Hope to hear you soon!

Stayed here on our last night of vacation. GOAL was to rest our heads for a fair price in the city. Can't beat free parking (1st come, 1st serve) which had more than 20 spots. I called the place prior to coming to see if we can arrive earlier than the check in time and was advised that we are more welcome to do so (we parked & site see).

With my prior researched on this INN that I found thru here, I requested a special room to be located towards the back since it is more quiet(indeed it was and we stayed on the 2nd fl).
When we checked out, I ask if we can still leave our car here and

Clean, decent stay overall. Free parking, continental breakfast and wifi. The bathroom and room were a fairly nice size with 2 queen. But the bed was not that comfortable for me, not enough support and lumpy. My other family members were fine though. For the price and area of town, a decent and pleasant stay for an overnight stay in SF.

This is not a recommended place to stay. My mom
booked it, and did no research. So, I was stuck in this motel with my 4 year old and 3 month old. The area is great. Not a rough neighborhood, which made the stay better. And the location is really what keeps this place on business. The room was not good. The office chair looked like someone got hungry and started eating it. I'm pretty sure taking it out of the room completely would have been a better option. The place looked clean but the bathroom shower and floor gave me the willies. Thank goodness this was only a one night stay. We did order

Hotel was one of the more inexpensive hotels in the area and was close to Fisherman's Wharf, which was nice, but I would NEVER recommend this hotel. I wish I would have read the reviews before we booked. Walked into the lobby and the receptionist looked at me and abrasively asked "Do you need something?" Told her we were checking in and asked how her night was to which she replied "Horrible. The guests here sucks and they won't even give me 5 minutes to take a crap". No joke. How is this woman in hospitality?! Got into the room and it was absolutely disgusting. Blood

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. The hotel was a cheaper deal which is what we needed for the weekend. The biggest issue was parking. They did not have enough of it and the only spots available were rented out. That kinda upset us because we were traveling with two 10 year old girls and had to park half a mile away and walk back. On a positive note the room was basic but very clean. Good water pressure in the shower. Great little budget stay. Just park your car and take buses!!!!

We had a long day driving from D.C. to Cincinnati and then we caught a flight to San Francisco. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm and reserved a room on their website for the evening for $145 for a king sized bed. When we got to the hotel the receptionist told us that she had a long day and was ready to go home and then stated that they did not have any more king sized beds. We said that was fine, we will take a queen or whatever they had as we were very tired from the journey from the east coast and just wanted to rest. She then stated that she only had a room for $209 for a queen.

Pros:
-Cheap (for San Francisco)
-Not a bad location--5 min walk to Chestnut Street, which has a market to stock up on food, as well as lots of shopping and restaurants. It's also another 5-10 minutes in the other direction to Union Street, with more shops and restaurants. You can also walk to the Palace of the Fine Arts and several bus stops that will take you to Fisherman's Wharf. It's about a 30-40 minute walk to Ghirardelli Square.
-Complimentary breakfast until ~9:30AM. It's white bread, Cheerios (Special K when they run out of Cheerios), apples (oranges when they run out

It's very minor, but I wasn't really a fan of the bathroom layout. There is no light in the shower, so it was kinda dark. The shower was almost like it&apos
