I had regularly visited the Melrose when in D.C. on business but had not been back for 12 years (retired). We spent several days there recently and it was an excellent stay.
The rooms are nicely appointed and the
hotel is quiet and convenient to restaurants and entertainment. The staff was very friendly and service oriented and Aki at the front desk was very helpful. Although the restaurant is only currently open for breakfast plans are underway to be fully open soon It was great to be back at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very nice. Wish they had the restaurant open but they don't at this time. It is open for breakfast. Also wish they had a microwave. TV's that you can cast to or ones that had apps would be nice so we could watch our shows while we are in the room. That's the only complaints I have. Besides that it was a very nice experience.

Checked in and out within 20 minutes. Room I was given was incredibly gross, covered in stains, and looked like it had not received any sort of deep cleaning ever. Would’ve expected much better for the price I was paying. Definitely not a four star hotel—save your money!
The one bright side was the staff was very friendly at the friend desk and was able to process my refund quickly so I could find other accommodations.

The entire Melrose employee team was GREAT. From the people opening the front doors, to the people at the front desk, to the employees ready to assist in the lobby....everyone was the nicest group of people. They constantly greeted us with a smile and asked how we were doing. I have a new favorite hotel in DC. And it is conveniently located to Georgetown shops/restaurants and the Metro.

I worked remotely with Rudy to book a quiet table for a group of 16 on a Friday night for a family celebration. The quiet, semi-private back room was perfect for our group enabling easy conversation and toasts. The menu for our group agreed with Rudy before hand was perfect from the Starters, Entrees, Dessert. We chose to bring in our own wine and the $20 corkage fee was reasonable. The food was delicious! Everyone was happy with their meal. Also Joe was our primary server and he was very efficient, friendly and responsive. I'll definitely return there on future visits.

Service:
Our waiter was also the bartender. Poor guy was busy but he never stopped to take a break. Sure made us feel like we were his only customers.
Food:
The food was delicious. Not too overly powerful on flavors and had its own unique taste that we definitely want to toy with when we get back home.

While staying at The Melrose hotel I decided to take advantage of eating at lobby bar that is part of the restaurant. And I must say I am very pleased with the food, and while everyone around me t small plates I decided to satisfy my burger craving ... the burger was simple, but very good. All was very fresh, and tasted like a back yard bbq burger. Didn't love the fries but maybe for the better... saved some calories and got a glass of red wine.

Staying at this hotel and didn't want to go find a restaurant in the hurricane. We got all of the happy hour items. Brussel sprouts were amazing! Chicken wings were good too. I also really loves the orzo lobster Mac and cheese, but it's just orzo.... no noodles. Definitely not the same as Mac and cheese but surprisingly good. Less filling. I was still hungry after sharing all of this so I ordered the bay crab soup. My server also brought me these amazing cheesy rolls without me even asking. It was soooooooooo good! I'm from CA and have a high expectation for seafood. This was amazing

We enjoyed our breakfast at Jardenea. But more than the food was the service. We felt cared for as we were facing some of the most difficult times in our lives. Our granddaughter was here being treated for a very serious illness, PANDAS, and the employees of the hotel as well as this restaurant went out of their way to comfort us. I will never forget it! I look forward to the day when we can return to enjoy Georgetown and all it has to offer. For now, this hotel was our welcome mat to the city. Thank you!

I had a nice meal here with a few friends. Food was tasty and the service was excellent -- share the rack of wild boar and the snapper (a bit tough) with one of our party with each of us getting the prix fixe 3-course meal which somewhat offset the otherwise elevated price point for meal. The arugula and goat cheese salad was tasty, and we all shared in the two desserts that came with -- chocolate lava cake and creme brulee. That we were allowed to get five separate checks was also a plus.
There were only a few diners present, but the fact that it was quiet enough that conversation was easy

Started with butternup squash bisque...not great. Kinda watery and really lacked flavor. The salmon was delicious though. The sauce that they used as light and creamy, salmon was cooked perfectly and the potatoes and veggies made the dish pretty filling. Service was okay and the ambience was average which drives this to a 3-star spot. Good solid choice though if you're in the area.

I picked Jardenea for breakfast with three busy friends this morning specifically because of its location, its menu and its offering of a tasty waffle too. One of my guests had a special preference I hoped to offer.
The food was actually quite good, and felt the choice was solid. However, I was sorely disappointed by the very poor service. Given we were dining at a hotel with business visitors and others, it stands to reason that we did not have the luxury to idle over our meal. We had significant difficulty getting seated at a near empty restaurant, and to keeping our waiter's attention

My husband and I went during DC Restaurant Week and dinner was beyond my expectations. We did have some trouble finding it originally because the restaurant entrance was not well marked. But we had a great meal and our waiter was really attentive. We both got mixed drinks, that was ok. I could take it or leave it. For the food though, I would definitely return.
I got a soft shell crab appetizer and a steak for my main. My husband got crab bisque, steak and we split a chocolate cake dessert. Not going to lie the appetizers were too salty. My husband agrees that someone went too heavy on the salt

We decided to dine at Jardenea for a pre-theater meal prior to a performance of Hamilton at the Kennedy Center. We'd already been to some of the other restaurants in that area for the same reason (Marcel's, Dish + Drinks, Blue Duck Tavern) and thought something new was in order.
First, going into the Melrose Hotel, it is not completely obvious where the restaurant is. You have to turn right immediately after coming in the doors and there is no noticeable host station to go to. Nonetheless, we were greeted immediately and brought to sit down in a nice two person table along the wall

This restaurant is located in the lobby of a beautiful hotel! We came here for lunch specifically because of the Yelp reviews. I am learning that some of y'all have no idea what you're talking about! The food was extremely overpriced. It was ok and I did enjoy my meal But the prices had me checking my bank account! The atmosphere is quite frou-frou which really isn't my taste. But if it's yours and you don't mind spending money on location, this is the place for you. I won't be returning.

Let me revise my review; after three separate meals, I initially wasn't impressed with the food. I found it to be lacking, however, Patrick Knott, Executive Sous Chef, made a sincere effort to demonstrate culinary excellence. Knott updated a menu offering to fit my taste by preparing a crusted sole and sunflower seed risotto. The sole was expertly seasoned and cooked perfectly. The risotto was balanced and savoury--a contemporary comfort food.
I'm thoroughly impressed with Knott's superior service, client interaction, and deep culinary interest; these characteristics combined with

We arrived at the Melrose Georgetown Hotel later than we anticipated, and we had tickets for something that started in less than 90 minutes. We spoke to Concierge to see if they had any recommendations for a bite to eat and they suggested Jardena because it was located right in the hotel. They were so accommodating... they even had a ride waiting for us as soon as we were done eating.
After we explained to our waiter that we were in a bit of a hurry, he was quick in getting everything out to us and his service was impeccable.
The bread they served was very good, with three different options

We came here because it was near our Kennedy Center show. We we're disappointed when we saw it was in a Hotel. We were overly impressed with the decor, the food and incredible service. Our server Derek was charming, helpful and kowledgeble. We couldn't hope for a better experience. A pure 5 stars.
Wife had the best sole she ever had. I had a very nice lamb with unbelievably good cous cous.
Warm beat soup and fois gras were superb as well.
Great mixed drinks too.

Had a work lunch today and very mixed reviews.
Soft shell crab appetizer is delicious. Two small crispy soft shell crabs with wilted spinach.
I would NOT recommend getting the lobster rolls. They are drenched in mayo to the point I couldn't taste any lobster. The homemade chips were very tasty. There are 3 small sliders and 2 of us ordered it and everyone tried a little, all 6 sliders were picked at but not eaten. They should remove this item from the menu.
The service was just so-so. We had a group of 9 people and we were constantly looking for a server for something.

For various reasons, we decided to do thanksgiving out this year versus at home. That was actually tough because so many restaurants were closed for thanksgiving. I ran across this place and was pleasantly surprised that for a restaurant inside a hotel, it was farm to table with great options for everyone in the family. (We were eight, with some vegetarians, some gluten free, some vegan, some didn't care)
For thanksgiving they had a traditional turkey plate, but we all ordered off their special menu for the day. I had the crab bisque and the lemon risotto. Others had the salmon, crab

Pretty decent restaurant for lunch, but by no means a brunch place. A fellow Yelpie friend and I visited for Sunday lunch and were hoping to have brunch / breakfast options as well, but were only given the lunch menu, which had disappointingly fewer options than most other restaurants.

Service
The service was pretty good, but I felt like our server kept trying to push us to order more... Maybe it was his tone? Maybe it just seemed like he was being really persistent? I don't know.
Location/Atmosphere
And the location was not great--literally the lobby of the Melrose. We felt the cold draft from the lobby door all night. And for some reason, even though it was almost empty (there probably was no need for us to make a reservation), it was super loud. Either a) all the people that ate there are obnoxious or b) the acoustics were
