Clean hotel with lots of historic character for a decent price at a central location in San Francisco. The rooms are very small but functional. The biggest downside is that mine at least didn't have a safe. Generally quiet except once when garbage was being picked up during the night outside.

Excellent old building from 1914. Rooms maintained beautifully. Wifi a little weak throughout the building. Works best in lobby but had trouble connecting no matter what floor I was on. Other than that, great place.

Please note that the Mosser offers guests $25 gift certificates off a future stay for writing a Google Review. (I did not pursue this as I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, but a good FYI.) The hotel is fairly decent – the rooms are clean, albeit during my recent stay there was no cleaning service so be aware of that for longer reservations. The room leans on the smaller size, but they get the job done. The provided toiletries were fantastic, really lovely orange scent. And all staff we interacted with were friendly. No safe in room or a mini fridge, unfortunately. My main complaint as mentioned

The room was actually quite nice and clean.
Unfortunately, their heating system is so old that it was not possible to operate it ourselves. Therefore it was super hot in the pretty tiny room. The staff instructed us to open the windows, which we did. But then, we weren’t able to sleep because of the noises of the street.
As if that wasn’t enough noise, they were working just under our floor, smashing walls and pipes in the morning.
On top of that, some of the staff members were not friendly at all.
The price was pretty high for a poor service like that.

Hotwire connected with The Mosser Hotel claiming it was a 3-star hotel. Well, there is NO way this is a three star hotel. The room is so small I can probably lay on the floor and have my toes on one wall and touch the opposite wall. The sink is no even in the bathroom. I almost got up the wrong time because the clock is an hour off. The room does not get dark because light shines in from above the door from the hallway. There is no thermostat in the room. The lumpy bed isn't even made with a fitted sheet. There is some button halfway behind the bed's headboard that I am going to guess used to turn

I stayed here for a few days while visiting SF. This hotel was alright, it served its purpose but I wish I would of booked somewhere else. The lobby was very clean, very nice, and the staff were extremely polite. Location is the saving grace here, it was fantastic!! The building was very secure and honestly a pretty okay place to crash if you need somewhere to stay. I wouldn't recommended staying here for multiple days however.

The rooms are TINY. Hardly room to move with my suitcase on the floor. Furthermore, it wasn't very clean. Random hair on the table, and looked like they hadn

I've recently stayed there September 10-12 and extended my stay until the 13, but on the night of the 11th I requested towels to be sent to my room. The hand towels that I had been in contact with when washing my hands there began to give me a rash, which I didn't really think to much about, but after using the other towel, both my eyes began to swell up and I had to check out the next morning and rush to the emergency room!!! I let the front desk know I was checking out early because I got an allergic reaction and they took my room key and offered nothing else, they let me know to inform

The room my husband and I booked really wasn't that bad. It had a lot of natural lighting & a nice view of the busy street below with the city noise you can hear when you sleep/throughout the night :). The floor was very creaky and walls are super thin.. All together we can't complain- we loved our stay, just an honest review from a tourist!

Extremely friendly staff. Small but clean, comfortable rooms. I enjoyed my time there and the price was very reasonable for the location. I did not drive so I am not sure what the parking is like. Expensive would be my guess. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised.

Decent rooms pretty thin walls when it's quiet for example our neighbor was having a phone conversation and it woke us up at 6am. Otherwise not bad for 2 adults. When exiting the Mosser and walking towards target direction its pretty barren with people and a little shady. When walking towards old navy/union Square it isn't so bad. If I had children I'd prob ensure we never come back to the hotel walking at night but getting dropped off would be fine.

I wish 3.5 stars was possible. The place is very decent. The rooms are small. Bed, TV, sink all within arms reach, bathroom has full size tub and shower. The entire place, rooms elevator, common areas felt really clean to me. Not once did I get a gross feeling inside. Step outside however, different story, but that's just SF these days. Very well located that being said. One block distance to dining, shopping, and BART (subway) major transit. 2 blocks from cable cars. The other guests seemed young, mostly from Europe. Well behaved,. Not rowdy or the hostel type. Not a four star place. Very solid

Great location in SF (safe, clean, lots of restaurants & shops around). Next to Trader Joe's. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only 4 stars as this is more of a boutique-y hotel and could use some upgrading. Wifi was also spotty and wish the rooms were a little bigger. But it sufficed and I'd recommend if you're travelling on a budget

This is, as most people say a no frills hotel. What's different about it is that you also need to use a key to go into the front of the hotel. Other hotels usually have security that opens the door. It's in a nice location, which is why I chose it: near Ross, downtown, and a variety of shopping spaces and the Westfield mall. I was able to get to many of the restaurants I wanted to try out there by walking. While they did have makeup remover and soaps, they did not have toothbrush, so I had to walk to the nearby CVS for that. The chair kind of hurt my back sitting on it, but there is a

Great hotel for solo or couples who don't need a lot of over the top extras.

The Staff was super helpful, especially when I accidently booked a room for Saturday and Sunday (this past weekend) instead of Friday and Saturday. The staff was able to handle the problem and changed the reservation for the right nights, with no extra charges. They always made sure go greet me every time I came and left.

The location is Great. a half of a block from Market street - a major street in SF & around the corner (3 - 5 min walk) from the metro/Bart.

Many places to eat within a block and a half

Stayed for 6 days. Room was small but it was fine for me and my daughter. It was clean and the decor was really nice. The hotel isn't the newest but I didn't mind that at all. The location is fantastic. Trader Joe's is next door, Target and Starbucks are on the corner. And a huge mall is 1 block away. We walked to Everything quickly. The only real complaints I have is that there was no mini fridge in our room and no fan in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and when I needed something they were knocking on our door within minutes. For the money I'd definitely stay here again. It's clean, simple

We recently came and stayed for 4 days and I love
This place! It's simple but covers all your needs! It's secure in keeping the doors locked and only allowing their guests. Also have hand sanitizer at entrance which is nice! Very Covid cautious! The best part is that it is right on union square! Starbucks, Trader Joe's, target, and everything else is literally a 3 min walk! Staff is nice! Place is quite got really good sleep! My husband and I LOOVVVED IT and we will definitely be coming back to this exact hotel :) thank you so much for the great stay!

My check-in experience was super strange. The lady at the counter told me to wait because they were changing shifts or something, but then I didn't see anyone change. She asked me to sit on the bench near the counter, which I did, and I waited for about five minutes before she told me she could help me. I was really confused by all of this.
I was given a key and then I headed up the elevators, and the room I had was really small. It had a bed and a bathroom, but the sink wasn't inside the bathroom; it was in the main part of the room where the bed was and in the corner. The toilet and

If you're looking to stay somewhere in San Francisco without breaking the bank, then The Mosser is probably a good fit. One thing to note is that some of the rooms have shared bathrooms - if you're like me, that's a huge no-no, so be sure to double check that your space has it's own facilities before confirming the reservation.

The hotel itself is in close proximity to restaurants, shopping, BART and you can explore the city by foot if you're feeling up to it. If you're a rideshare person, it's really easy for pickup and drop-offs as well.

While the only downside is the shared shower and bathroom, this hotel was a great deal. I purchased a deal through Groupon. The room was small, with room for a bed and luggage, and had a closet and a sink. The hotel was warm so there was a fan and ample lighting in the room.

The shared shower and bathroom was not a big deal, as you would rarely run into someone else wanting to use it at the same time, and the staff does a great job keeping it clean. The gross part is the individual restroom; it was a small room with just the toilet and hand sanitizer, so you would have to wipe with one hand
