Molds create tiny spores to reproduce. Mold spores waft through the indoor and outdoor air continually. When mold spores land on a damp spot indoors, they may begin growing and digesting whatever they are growing on in order to survive. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet and foods.
Your deck is an area with several recurring problems. A deck is subjected to extreme weather conditions: rain, snow, heat, sun, etc., and requires routine maintenance and inspection. Large numbers of people may congregate and cause large weight loads. An interior floor will usually have direct bearing points for the floor joist, whereas a deck may be supported only by connectors, at the house and/or support post.

I am so very thankful and impressed with Matt Dawes from Building Specs. He did a quality inspection and delivered a full report the next day - incredibly thorough. After our builder flat out lied about fixing the mold issue in our crawl space, we hired Matt and are so thankful we did. He found some very problematic mold that our builder said did not exist. Matt produced pictures, a full report and lab analysis so we knew exactly what we were dealing with. 100% worth every penny. Had an inspection on 11/10/20 for my upcoming final walk thru for my Boise Hunter Home. Since the inspection, I discovered the de-humidifier was turned off, never checked. Electrical plugs are not working outside the home . Other items that were reviewed were left unplugged. He did find some issues in our crawl space , but I would advice going with someone more thorough and not as concerned with the items in your home. My wife did not appreciate hearing about how many shoes she had and all things in our home were such as waste.

In the restoration world. They were always fantastic in getting thorough inspections done and getting things scheduled that always fit our customers needs. Now that i was the customer in need of a home inspection for a real estate transaction they were who I called. Their office staff were able to get me scheduled the next day, and I received my report back all within 24 hours. The quality was amazing, the debrief even over the Phone from the inspector was clear and explained things in a way i would understand. You get amazing quality

Matt came out today and inspected our home we just had built in Eagle ID. I cant say enough. He was very thorough and uncovered items that both the City inspectors and VA inspector missed. Items that could have potentially been disastrous. Matt spent hours with my husband checking the entire house inside and outside. Not only did Matt prepare an extensive report for us but he called us at 6:00 PM to tell us the results and what his action plan was to help us protect our investment. He has gone FAR and ABOVE the call of duty. He exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend Matt to anyone
