Our friend who lives in Georgetown recommended we stayed here and I couldn't have been happier. The room was very spacious, and during COVID is it great to be in a smaller hotel with less traffic going through the common areas. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, and the sheets were extremely high quality. Perfect location too.

We really wanted to like this hotel - the location was perfect for our friend's birthday celebration. We should have known better when they were so hard to get ahold of by phone. 3 of us stayed in 3 rooms. One was put in a basement room that had so much noise, he couldn't sleep. I hadn't checked in yet, and they tried to get him to take my first floor room (he didn't). After several conversations, he was finally moved to a first floor room - but he said, while better, it was still incredibly loud - this time instead of footsteps from above, it was loud machinery running all

The room I was given at check in had dirty sheets, wet towels on the bathroom floor, and a milk ring on the coffee table. When we asked for a different room, we were told there weren't any even though it said there were available rooms online.
We were pressured to stay even though no one on the cleaning staff was there. No offer was made to arrange alternate accommodations.

Loved my stay. Staff was incredible and extremely courteous. The room I stayed at was small, and I liked that. I have never needed the massive rooms that most hotels provide. This was a small, intimate, and thoughtfully crafted room. Bathroom was clean and has a standing shower only. Anytime that I come to D.C., this hotel has certainly earned my business.

The Avery is an incredible intermingling of historic and modern aesthetics. And it is now the standard by which I judge every hotel.
Everything was incredible, fully top notch. The linens and the mattress were sublime. I want to order my next mattress direct from The Avery!
The staff are really personable and attentive, going above and beyond to help guests. The staff took time to help me choose directions to an attraction. I stepped outside, lingered stationary with my map for a bit and the staff person walked outside to check on me and answer further questions to help me get to my destination

They were terrible, unprofessional and just made my life miserable. When i arrived to check in, no one was there at all to check me in. I called the phone number on the website multiple times and it just rang and rang. Finally somone showed up and told me he was asleep in the back. At this point it was 12AM and I said fine, let me just get to my… room. He checked me in, i was in my pajamas and asleep when i get a knock on my door telling me i have to go back downstairs to pay again? It was horrible. Just the worst stay of my life. After arguing with them that I've already paid through the

We just had a wonderful stay at The Avery Georgetown. This boutique hotel is a true gem located in Georgetown walkable distance to many tourist attractions.
From the moment we checked in we were greeted with kind and friendly staff. We were offered complimentary beer or wine to relax after a long flight. The rooms were lovely. Definitely one of the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. I especially enjoyed soaking in the luxurious bathtub after a long day at the national mall.
The next morning we ate our delicious complimentary French pastries and coffee on our private patio.
Overall, could

Location, location, location. Georgetown, out of the downtown congestion. Parking is still an effort, but the hotel managed to help us with that without much difficulty. Federal building modernized, too much for my taste. Room 5 needs a comfortable chair or two. Breakfast pasteries were exceptional. A few odd things. Closeup mirror on wall at waist level. Forgot to replace water, etc. in fridge daily, no extra toilet paper roll, had to ask for hair dryer as it was missing and not noticed by staff. Friendly staff.

Incredible place! Super cozy and comfy. Excellent staff, helpful and nice. Place is super clean, well decorated, beds extra comfortable and bedrooms very spacious. The neighborhood is lovely. No elevator so be aware that there are stairs to get to the rooms. Lovely garden to have breakfast or just chill. All in all, awesome experience and will totally recommend it!

Do yourself a favor and leave the hustle, bustle, noise and smells of a major chain hotel behind. This quaint property is a great place to stay when in DC and the staff will take excellent care of you. Uber and Lyft are there within minutes and it's a quick ride to Capitol Hill and even quicker to M Street.

Georgetown is probably my most favorite part of D.C. to visit - there's so much heritage, personality & class (not to mention a warm, upscale vibe) to the area. The Avery Georgetown completely personifies this, and more.
The hotel is in a FANTASTIC location, just minutes from downtown Georgetown shopping and delicious restaurants - it might be the only one that close in proximity with the quality that one would want in a stay. The building itself has so much history, but has been renovated in a way that one can still get the old world sense, without sacrificing modern comforts (like

Fantastic boutique hotel on one of the only quiet streets in Georgetown. Close to everything but far enough away for a good night sleep. Loved our room, and the walk out patio lounge area that is comfy and private. Parking is $50 per night w in and out privileges. Nicely updated rooms and bathrooms. I don't know the cost, as husband booked and paid for my birthday vacation trip. Only staying one night.
The little things: in room thermostat with constant fan option. Long towels that cover more than average. Comfy bed w extra pillows. L'Occitaine toiletries.

Well appointed with all the little details. Excellent service and nice touches throughout. Convenient location yet set aside from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast pastries are simple, yet incredibly tasty. Justin, the owner, and his staff are extremely friendly, offering great conversation and helpful hints for a local perspective.

This adorable place will be a nightmare if you are not on the top floor. Because it's basically a house that was converted into a little inn, you will... and I mean WILL HEAR the people above you stomping around and throwing things around. I sacrificed a large room with a fireplace for a tiny room on the top floor just to avoid constant panic. I live in NYC so I get enough of that bs every single day. No thanks for vacation.

Intimate property that is a refreshing change from the normal larger properties. The linens were great and I slept so good. The large soaking tub was unique and I melted in there for almost an hour. The decor is a little cold with hardwood floors on my feet so booties I received at other properties would be nice. Service was great with lots of personal attention and it was a comfy experience.
