LOCATION is perfect! Right next to north beach and chinatown! Can walk to union square as well as to all the piers! Plenty of restaurants during the day and night life at night! Costumer service was awesome! I usually don’t write reviews but I had to for them! Let us check in and park in their garage 4 hours early because the room was available early. Also let me keep my truck parked in the garage for a little while after check out so that we could grab a bite at one of the nearby restaurants before heading out! Highly recommend and will be staying here again! Unfortunately nightly parking is

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, housekeeping does an AMAZING job. Everything works great, tv , refrigerator, microwave, shower has hot and cold with strong water pressure. Beds and sheets are clean and very comfortable. Staff accommodates reasonable request, very friendly and helpful staff. A gem in the community, located perfectly close to everything.

This hotel isn't super fancy, but it's nice, well appointed and most importantly, clean. The rooms are basic, standard amenities, and pretty small. The staff is so nice and helpful. They are pleasant and accommodating. We stayed here for the boyfriends birthday weekend and they were always nice, smiling and patient. The AC in our room worked GREAT! They have a great location, a parking garage with a decent price per night. The only negative is the mattresses. They are thin, pretty firm and noisy. You can tell the mattress is very cheap, but if you can stand the mattress, you'll

Great location but golden gate other side of the city so prepare for long walk or bus ride. Great food around, right between north beach and Chinatown. Clean, great price.

I stayed here a few weeks ago for business - the week we were there, this was the only hotel we could find that was walking distance of the financial district and wasn't near the Tenderloin. I have a hard time rating it, though, because everything was great except for one thing, but it was a pretty big thing: my bed was HARD AS A ROCK, so I didn't sleep very well, which is kind of the whole point of a hotel.

It sucks, though, cause everything else about the place was great - certainly was a great price (not exactly cheap, but way cheaper than anywhere else in the heart of the city where

Great location and the hotel is nice. It's well looked after and our room was nice and clean. Breakfast is very basic but included in the room rate so no issue with what was on offer. My only issue is the plastic cutlery and paper plates, when hotels put cards in your room about not washing towels and bedding everyday for sustainability reasons but use huge amounts of single use plastics etc. everyday it doesn't make sense. A small thing and wouldn't let it out me off returning again or recommending the hotel to others. All staff we spoke to were welcoming and polite.

Just stayed here for training in the city. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area, and it's so close to Chinatown! The breakfast is continental (no hot food), but that's alright because you have many, many bakeries in the area.

The parking may have been a little expensive at $35/day, but it was good to not have to worry about my car the whole time. It felt very secure.

Shout out to Ben for being awesome.

The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and the hotel room was super clean. Very minimalistic but nice. They have everything you need in terms of toiletries and towels in the room, and the shower had a really nice water pressure. The rooms seem like a decent size for being in such a central location. You can walk to many tourist sites and eat a lot of delicious food nearby! It is in Chinatown, so be aware of that before you decide to book. That was definitely a plus for us though!

Very clean and friendly service. Breakfast is included and is decent. There is parking available for guests that is $35 a night. Which is very convenient.
Hotel does need some updating but would stay there again. Good location between North Beach and Chinatown.

Amazing location in Chinatown. You could get to so many different places by walking a mile or less in any direction. Very small room with a dated look. Bed was pretty hard but it had nice pillows. The staff was super friendly and the price was great. Not bad for my first visit to SF, but I'll probably spend a bit more for a nicer place next time.

What a find the SW Hotel was. The lobby is beautiful. The desk staff was kind, friendly, and always smiling along with being helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and nicely decorated. If you like a firm mattress don't look any further. The beds are platform beds and I slept better here then on my sleep number at home. In a world we're many people are dishonest, the housekeeping staff here are the most honest. I left my luggage at the hotel and when I picked them up, there was a note left for me. I left my diamond necklace in the room. It is not a cheap dime store chain. I am forever

3.5 star review. I really wasn't sure whether to book this or not, based on reviews. Here's the scoop: It's the best deal in downtown San Fran, with a good location; rooms are bare minimum and outdated, yet clean - including very clean bathrooms; amenities (shampoo, body lotion, etc) are actually quite decent; front staff is helpful; complimentary breakfast is coffee and tea and a variety of the typical cheap sugary carbs, including pastries, a waffle maker, oatmeal, cereal (no eggs or healthy protein). Basically, if you're looking for a well-located place to crash, it totally

I recently stayed at the SW Hotel while in SF for a few days for work. It is located on a very busy thoroughfare in Chinatown. Lots of restaurants and markets with authentic Asian foods and gifts are within walking distance. There is also a CVS located nearby if you forgot any important travel items. As for the hotel, it is perfectly fine if you are not bougie and have high expectations. I work for the State of California so with the parameters that I have on the cost of staying in a hotel for work related travel forces me to take hotel risks. Even SW was outside of the allowed maximum rates

I love this hotel! At first I was very skeptical in booking because of all the negative reviews. This hotel is truly in the heart of Chinatown and very close to Little Italy. Pretty much walking distance to some places we wanted to go. The staff was absolutely absolutely super kind. Had no problems at all.

The rooms were kinda small but enough for 2 people to move around comfortably.

At night, the noise from all the hustle and bustle during the day starts to calm down but there are people bar hopping and you can hear them. No hotel is ever perfect. This worked for my boyfriend and I

After reading some of the reviews here and elsewhere (along with the comparatively cheap price), I was a bit nervous to stay at this place. As it turns out, my fears were completely unfounded. This hotel is a real gem. No, it's nothing fancy. But it's clean and well-kept and has outstanding service. Others have complained about the small rooms--I've seen much smaller (I guess being an East Coaster gives you some perspective), and I had no trouble accomplishing what I had to accomplish for business while staying in my room. The beds are comfortable and the housekeeping was always

I hate to give this place 3 stars....
The things I like:
Location, location, location
The staff are great
I feel welcome and safe
Very clean
Continental breakfast is nothing special but has the basics... sometimes the basics can be perfect.
It has a mini frig

Things I don't like:
The beds are TERRIBLE. Not a place for a business trip or after a marathon...when you need comfortable.
This last time here, I really noticed how thin the walls are, so I would say, probably not super kid friendly.
Would be great to have a small coffee pot and cups in the rooms.
So, that's it. I guess it

3.5 stars but be sure to read on:

Location, location, location.

Service is solid, rooms are clean and good for a night sleep.

I would not select this spot for a business trip where I have to do much work in the room but as a crash place...solid.

I've stayed here twice and both times it was a place to crash after a night out with more than a couple drinks.

The rooms are plain...not even art on the walls.

This was the perfect hotel for my boyfriend and I who was just visiting San Fran for 4 days. Front Desk staff was very nice especially the Man who worked in the morning. He was very helpful with giving us directions and talked to us everytime we walked into the hotel. It helps if you're a GSW or SF Giants fan.
CONS about the Hotel:
We had the 1 queen size bed room and the room was on the smaller side but we were out most of the day so it didn't bother us. Bathroom is very small and didn't have counter space for your toiletries. The AC control system was on the older side so in

The word SMALL keeps coming up in the reviews...
It's definitely not FANCY, it's a room to sleep in. Expensive city, so to find something 'reasonable' in this city is the plus. The less time in the hotel, the better.
The location is great, so close to Chinatown, Broadway, Market, etc...

So what can I write about the SW Hotel? Bring plenty of cash. We booked the hotel based mostly on positive reviews we had read on Tripadvisor and on other travel sites. However, our three nights there was not nearly as glowing.

We arrived at the hotel early after a long trip from Minneapolis. My girlfriend was nervous that our room would not be available until 3 pm. Fortunately, our king bed was available, though they had not fulfilled my request to have a quiet room. Originally we were put in a room with a street view. We immediately asked to be moved.

Also, when we arrived I asked for our

Had a business trip that I decided to turn into a weekend with my partner. I chose the hotel because it was a close enough walk to my meeting location and not crazy expensive.

The fact that the room key is an actual key is a little strange but no biggie. The rooms are small. My queen bed seemed more like a full and the bathroom had no tub just a shower and a tight one at that. But room was super clean. Walls are thin. On our first night we could hear our neighbors having some very um personal moments.

I didn't try the breakfast but my partner did and he said it was sad with bad coffee and

This is a 3-star hotel facility with 5-star customer service. This is not a luxury hotel. It is a decent hotel that Provides the bare basics. You get a clean room, doesn't smell, clean bed, clean towels. The staff is really nice. I recommend it for young people who like to party and are not bothered by late night noise.

Not a family type area or hotel. If you need a place for the kids to run and your tween or teen to wander off and hang out in the lobby to play on their phone by themselves---this is not the place. There is no pool, spa, convenient hotel store to buy amenities you forgot

Clean is the only thing going for this place. Ask for an internal room, you don't want windows facing the club. There was no parking to be had in north beach. Drove around for almost 2 hours looking. The rock like bed messed my neck up for the day. The club next door got quiet by about 10, but between the constant honking at 2am and hoards of drunks turned out on the street, we weren't sleeping much anyway. Will not stay here again.

Oh good, someone started music again at 8:00 on the dot.

Coming into SF for a national meeting meant that every hotel in the vicinity was more ridiculously priced than usual. We were able to book this hotel on orbitz for 208/ night before taxes.

Luckily it was pretty much walking distance from anything we needed. 20 mins to the Moscone Center where are meeting was, 20 mins from Fisherman's Warf and Ghiradelli Square. Around the block from Chinatown and northbeach.. Overall, a great location.

They also have a few nice amenities including complimentary wifi and breakfast (cereal, muffins, juice and coffee.. Nothing sans gluten, but great for all

SIMPLY WONDERFUL

I can't rave enough about the SW! It is clean, stylish, and the staff is excellent!! The rooms are on the small side, but by no means are they cramped. Quite a bargin for the price. I had read reviews and was worried it was going to be noisy. IT WAS NOT NOISY AT ALL ! The parking garage is conveniently located right at the Hotel, and the $30.00 fee is competitive. We couldn't have been in a better location. The SW straddles the borders of North Beach and China Town. We left our car in the garage and walked everywhere. To Fisherman's Warf, to the Financial District
