Riggs Washington DC is located in the historic former Riggs National Bank building on the corner of 9th and F Street. Paying homage to the building's legacy, each of our 181 guest rooms and suites is reminiscent of a private safety deposit box, while serendipitous details throughout the hotel draw on a narrative inspired by the golden age of banking.
The heart and soul of the hotel is Cafe Riggs - a modern, all-occasion restaurant in the tradition of the grand brasseries of Europe - as well as a lower level bar housed in the original bank vault from the internationally-acclaimed Mr Lyan team.

This is the second time we stayed at the Riggs and it was just as amazing as the first time. The First Lady suite we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and the staff was extremely attentive. The location was perfect for the holidays to walk through the Christmas market and lights in the neighborhood. Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The decor is stunning. Rooms are spotless and the service is so pleasant. The rooms have many treats, slippers, tote bag , playing cards and one of the best minibars I've seen! The door man was singing Christmas carols outside while I waited for my Lyft to the airport. Very friendly and polite staff. The location is great too! You can walk to the White House in 15min and so many museums and restaurants.

Exceptionally friendly staff & amazing location! The minute we pulled up, Antoine (the bellman) came right out to greet us & acted like we were old friends. He was so out-going and instantly set the tone for a fun stay in DC. Tiffany the concierge was hysterical— so much fun & full of ideas and connections to get us reservations. We loved the vibe of the hotel and phenomenal location— within walking distance of everything. At night time we were out walking in the neighborhood and it felt very safe. That was a good feeling, given everything going on these days. I would definitely go back to

We were so blown away with the hospitality we received at your restaurant and hotel. Each and every staff member went out of their way to genuinely ensure we had an excellent experience. And even for a party of 10, sitting outside, our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. We were incredibly impressed.

Overall our experience was exceptional! We had one issue with the A/C blowing warm air in the middle of the night(every night) but the front desk was beyond accommodating. They brought us up two Dyson fans that blew cold air thankfully, two big bottles of water, & gave us a room credit for Cafe Riggs downstairs. Aside from that one issue, our stay was amazing. Bed was comfortable. Room was spacious. Shower pressure was great. The service was exceptional. The front door men/bell men were so kind and really made our experience that more amazing. The hotel is super convenient for getting around. We

This hotel is amazing—one of the best places I've stayed in for many years. My husband and I came for our 1st wedding anniversary and we were treated like gold. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food is top-notch. Also, the rooms are gorgeous and spacious. I would highly recommend a stay here!

I came to DC to review different hotels for my clients and I just have to say out of the hotels I visited this weekend this was the best one!! I wish I would have stayed in this hotel first. Great location to all the museums. A block away from the Capital One Arena. The staff is very professional. They made us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped out the car until the very end. Harry at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. The hotel was just beautiful inside and out with the beautiful art work. The staff opened the doors for you when you went in and out

I have stayed in a few of the DC area hotels- but the Riggs is the best! Great location, friendly and accommodating staff! The rooms are pretty and extremely quiet- the lobby and restaurant area is lovely and inviting. This stay I had to change my plans twice- they were gracious and helped me in every way possible! Great hotel, centrally located in the DC area and close to 2 Metro stops! I highly recommend it!

The new Riggs hotel, very well located for either the political business or leisure traveler at F & 9th, is a welcome addition to the complement of hotels in downtown DC. Less expensive than many other top DC hotels, it is nevertheless stylish and spiffy, projecting a whimsical attitude with staff that generally aim to please. The food at Cafe Riggs is excellent and interesting - better than most hotel food by far. Considering that it opened after an extensive renovation right before the pandemic, it deserves some credit simply for keeping the lights on and continuing to look so good. That

Giving this hotel 2 stars because it's beautiful, perfectly located in the city, and everyone working there was absolutely sweet.
Why am I taking off 3 stars? We definitely ran into issues. I'd give it 2.5.
I booked this hotel for a fun girls staycation - a lot of planning went into this. I booked the deluxe double room for 3 people. I called prior to showing up to ensure it would be enough room for 3, and they actually said it can fit 4. The suites were all booked, and the atelier suite only has a king bed.
I get to the hotel first to kind of spice up the room for a girls night,

Had a fabulous night at the Riggs. The location is perfect, the building is gorgeous, and the rooms are extraordinarily well-decorated and comfortable. I slept so well and really enjoyed all of the amenities (bathrobe, slippers, nice bath products, large TV, free drink voucher). I had a drink and food from the bar, which were delicious, and breakfast was good, too. What really blew me away was the service -- everyone there were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Incredibly helpful and accommodating and the room was beautiful. It is extremely well located and close to so many wonderful entertainment and dining opportunities. I cannot wait to go back!

Pro 1: The stay was wonderful. Front desk and room service were very nice and we were treated very nicely. It is a hotel of very high quality.
Con 1: We were charged an additional 50 dollars for things that we didn't touch in the minibar. We only received a receipt regarding the room and tax fee but not the additional charge.
Pro 2: Customer service was efficient and helpful. The additional charge was refunded once we contacted them.

Had 1/2 of a drink at the lobby. My friend went down the block and threw up because he felt sick. We were both kicked out because of racial profiling but used the drinking as an issue. I asked them to look at the cameras as we did not do anything wrong but were kicked out regardless. Lawsuits pending.

My wife, our dog (Mabel, a Bernese Mountain Dog) and I have now stayed at the Riggs twice, once over Christmas (my last review, also 5 stars) and the second time over Valentines' Day. The main difference was that COVID restrictions are lighter, so we were able to eat at Cafe Riggs in their dining room as opposed to room service (they cook all room service) and hotel rooms they turned into private dining rooms during the height of COVID. We already knew the food was excellent. Now we learned that so is the restaurant service. Both times we traveled from upstate NY just to stay and eat there

Stayed for two nights the week of the first Presidential debate.
The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. It felt like we had the hotel to ourselves since this is the era of COVID-19.
The staff was helpful and respectful. We didn't get to check out the rooftop bar or the cafe because they were closed though. But the location was nice. We can see the Capitol One Arena from our windows on the 9th floor.
Room 925 was Awesome.

Got a reservation to be sure we had a table at this newer Penn Quarter restaurant on a Saturday eve Its fancy style with cloth napkins and cool table items. We got the fish dishes, char and halibut, that came with small quantities of veggies. Delish breadsticks served with water. Dessert were divine chocolate tart and real fresh berries with cream, service was good and social distancing in effect. Pretty pricey here, our bill went over $100 easily, without alcoholic drinks!

I've been waiting for the @riggshotel to fully open. Brand new luxury addition to DC. It has been 2 years in the making. Right when the restaurant caferiggs and the lounge silverlyan open the C-word hit and everything was shutdown.
The main hotel just open on August 11th including the Rooftop and caferiggs. Unfortunately, the Gorgeous silverlyan lounge remains closed. It was the first Spot on my list to visit. I love a fashionable decorated lounge over a rooftop any-day. To add the talented Jacu Strauss from Europe decorated the hotel.
I truly enjoyed

This is luxury... Wow... former bank building turned hotel... fabulous.
The service here is spectacular, friendly and efficient. We received a small welcome gift upon check in: a cute bag, small bottle of bubbly and a variety of hand sanitizers.
The interior is stunning, all the old beauty preserved, yet with every modern day comfort you can imagine. In our room , the fridge was made to look like an old bank safe, nice touch. The only thing is, that in my humble opinion the bed headboards and the wall decor just don't fit together at all.
The room also comes with complimentary slippers and

Convenient location. Friendly and accommodating staff. They give you a welcome gift and we're generous to my friend for her birthday. Very clean rooms. Beds are comfortable. Spacious accommodations in the double room. The 1 bedroom suite is modern with an old school European vibe. It's beautiful. I have very high standards for hotels and they definitely make the mark. There's meter parking out front or valet with the hotel. They have bars and a cafe. There's also a restaurant right across the street.
