Super cool place right near the beach and awesome staff. The hotel has a Victorian charm with current amenities with a great view looking at the beach. There's no elevators though but we all need to exercise but overall gray stay. I want to commend the entire staff at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel! On the last day of our stay at the hotel, my sister fell and was taken to the ER by ambulance!

I cannot express how bad of a hotel this is. You would think after paying almost $1000 for a 2 night stay it would be at least half decent.

Let me just start with the pictures you see online ARE NOT the same rooms you get. The size of our room was probably 70-90sqft. Maybe smaller. One bed and that's it.

The room was so filthy (I'll attach photos) dust everywhere, including moldy ac vents. We found hair on the toilet, bed and throughout the room. The shower was disgusting with broken fixtures. I honestly gagged a few times.

If this hotel is upscale or nice - room 101 does NOT show for it. This room looked more like a storage room converted into a room for profit.
The linen was dingy and looked dirty.
The room was not serviced even after placing the "Please service room" sign on the door.
The view - I'll let the pictures do the talking for me.
What I paid is absolutely top dollars however the room is comparable to a Motel 6.

After booking a few nights at this hotel I did not learn till later that this was a famous victorian historic hotel. We were here for a birthday celebrate and this hotel was located mins. from the beach.
Check in was a breeze plus the front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly, this is a three story historic newly renovated hotel that has been family owned and operated since 1986
This is the second oldest hotel in the state of California...WOW! The famous guests that had stated here were Clark Cable Amelia Earhart, Laurel and Hardy, Marilyn Monroe and even Theodore Roosevelt.

Catalina Island is beautiful and I had a wonderful time staying at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel! The hotel is very charming and is close to everything, including restaurants, shops, and the beach. Everyone who worked there was very nice and helpful, and accommodated us with anything we needed. I went with a group of friends and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Old but charming. No mini-fridges in rooms and the tech feels a little old, but charming none the less. Not really worth the price of the room, but cheaper than the surrounding hotels so there's that.

Above and beyond the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.

I have only two nice things to say of this place. The cleanliness was exceptional, and the location couldn't be beat. Everything else made me feel like it was a disaster after another. First, we were rudely welcomed in with a "check in is at 3:00, come back then" not even an attempt to see if our room was ready or anything. My god, was the young male receptionist the most unimpressive dissociative human being. Just there for the job, simply. When we got into our rooms, the blind fixture was broken and in the wide-open position, to let all the light through. The photos for this room

This is a review for the customer service, not yet our stay. We booked and then had some issues precluding us from coming. Can't say enough about Jimmy the manager and the staff over there and how they went out of their way to take care of us. Friendly. Kind. Understanding. Looking forward to what will be the first of many stays we will have at the hotel. When the customer service is that good before you check in, can't imagine how good it is once you're there.

This place on pictures looks great. I tried to cancel my reservation because of a domestic issue and they still stated no even with proof. I just think that's a low blow and if you needed money that bad then get it from a customer who is checking in happily not someone crying telling you the true story. Didn't even offer voucher for another date either. Things happen sometimes but I'm out of the money I paid already...

My family and friend's family stayed at this hotel for 2 days and 1 night. This hotel is absolutely bad! ‍. There's also a lot of weird people here. When we came at 3:00 (to see if our rooms were ready), they said no. They told us that the room was ready at 3:00 pm. they also don't have an elevator which is kind of difficult for people with a lot of stuff. The room we got (my friend and I), was an okay room. According to my friend, she said she the room has 2 beds. And when we got there, we only saw one bed!! FYI we had 3 rooms and all 3 rooms have only 1 bed. Also, they said

Stay away from this place if you were on the brink or questioning booking your stay here. I came to Catalina with my mom and family to celebrate my moms birthday. On the first night they didn't have a room available upon check in for my aunt and her family even tho they had proof of advance registration. Additionally, on the same night my mom and I were put in a smaller room than we had purchased. The following day they were unwilling to move us to the correct size room AND refund us the difference of the room we got vs the room we purchased for the first night unless we stayed in the smaller

Not believe in the photos you see because this place is old and dilapidated and needs to have a building inspector look at it. Should be torn down since in my opinion it's unsafe. Floors are so warped and not even you feel like you're drunk walking on them and I don't drink. Over $200 a night was a bargain on the island, but definitely not worth it. Since COVID there is no room service or breakfast, but no discount either.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend in Catalina & it all started at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel! We were greeted by Jim who was very friendly and helpful. During the weekend, Big Jim, Little Jim and Josh took wonderful care of us and all our needs for our trip - from food and fun recommendations to golf cart rentals to providing ice and helping us locate an ATM. They were awesome! Our room was clean, comfy and roomy! The nicest place I've stayed in Catalina! Thank you so much Glenmore Plaza! We will definitely be back! Hopefully staying at in the Clark Gable Suite!!!

My wife and I spent a couple nights celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel on Catalina Island this past weekend. This hotel is a family owned property and they go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The Hotel itself was built in the 1890's and you can see that in the architecture the minute you step into the property. They have completely restored the interior and modernized where necessary while still keeping the turn of the century feeling. We stayed in the Clark Gable suite and it was the most amazing hotel room we've ever had. The unobstructed, 180

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon at the Charlie Chaplin suite. The room was great and the bathroom was really nice. In the beginning going up to the room it feels like the steps are never ending when going up with luggage. Since we walked in the hotel everyone was very friendly. On our last day we got asked if we wanted to store our luggage until we leave. We would stay at this hotel again on the same room. We did not take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service or breakfast.

5 STAR STAFF: the staff here were amazing. So kind. Custom service based, and smiling faces no matter what hour it was. They truly cared.

We booked on booking.com NOT RECOMMENDED!! The room we thought we were going to be in had an amazing bathroom, and as you see from attached photos, we did not get that. Booking.com is EXTREMELY MISLEADING! The staff has already reached out to them and booking.com has not updated their site.
This hotel was built in 1891 or something like that, so yes it's slightly outdated and quaint.
The room was stuffy, and had me seriously questioning the cleanliness

We had a really awesome stay here! We got here in the morning on the day of our check-in, and we were able to leave our bags in the storage room that they had available so that we could explore the island a
bit. The hotel is very close to the shoreline along with everything else.
It's also very close to a grocery store in the event you just wanted a snack instead of a meal. They have continental breakfast that was just what we needed before our time exploring. Veronica - the lady who kept the front desk - was so friendly and she really made us feel right at home. Our room was so nice

My experience with Glenmore Plaza Hotel has not been so well due to room malfunctions. I checked into the hotel Friday, November 16th and the staff was very friendly however, the quality of the room was not as friendly.

My hotel room had lights that were not working properly. When turning on the lights next to the window, the lights were more so flickering on and off. Also one of the walls has stains on them. The bed was uncomfortable as well. I saved up my hard earned money to take my partner on a surprise trip and was we both dissatisfied with the quality of Glenmore Plaza Hotel's rooms
