Rooms are too small to move in, the showers are too small to bend over and wash your feet in. There is a family next door with small screaming children (sounded like they were running a day care), got woken up each day at 7am and couldn't relax in the afternoon before dinner. SOOOO loud!

Not what I was expecting for the price.
Room was very small, bathroom was closet sized with a tiny shower. There is an intense walk up a hill to get to the hotel which offers no shuttle. For the price I think they could do more for their guests.

The rooms are very small. The shower was so small that it was hard to turn around. No one came to tidy up your room everyday. My trash can got full. I had to find some where to empty it myself. I had to call the front desk to get soap and towels. I tried to call the front desk about 8:30 PM to get a wake up call. No one answered my call. There is no one on duty after 8:00 PM. There are no elevators. I had to carry my luggage up the stairs to the room and then walk back downstairs to get my wife's luggage and carry it upstairs to the room. I would rate this hotel a one and a half star because the

Read the fine print !!!
We had to cancel 5 days before we were to go on our vacation due to a family emergency & they would not refund our money. We did not even book it until 9-3-21 & we cancelled 9-16-21 . They want 30 days in advance for cancellation !!!! Are you kidding me???No one does that !!! One would think that with the uncertainty with Covid-19 & losing loved ones they would understand. Book somewhere you can get your money back . We were going to rebook at a later time , but NOT with them.

Very nice service, clean place, good location. Short walk from the ferry to the hotel which sits on a hilly side street. The lobby is spacious and clean, water is available. We were greeted by friendly staff, and the best part was even though our room was not ready to check into yet they held our luggage for us while we went on a tour.
The room was small, but did have a view, although obstructed by telephone lines, which is not their fault. Clean.
Breakfast was continental, and very nice service again, safe procedures during Covid times.
I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Really nice place tucked away near the casino building, easy to walk into town and to descanso as well. The rooms were clean and big enough to crash after being outside all day! Staff and service was really nice too, went above their way to make sure we were comfortable, thank you!

First time heading to Catalina Island for my anniversary and booked a standard room at the hotel for Friday night to Sunday morning. Cute sign and entrance leading to the checkin desk. Front desk was very welcoming and friendly. Got a 3rd floor room with a balcony. The room had two complimentary water bottles already in the fridge which was my favorite because it came clutch during the weekend. It also had two robes hanging, complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and a vase of flowers. Staff was very good at communicating calling hours before our checkin to see what time I would be arriving and also

I had a great time for a birthday get away, the place is small but perfect, I don't have major complaints except very minor ones, like: I couldn't figure out the hot water for the sink, the brown blanket on the bed smells bad and for the love of God the pillows on the bed was like climbing a mountain, is it possible to get low profile pillows for short people? I'm 5'2" and I named your high profile pillows mount pillow! Other than conquering and claiming mount pillow I was pleased with everything else, breakfast was great and the balcony is amazing!

We had a wonderful overnight trip with the help of the Aurora Hotel.

Avalon is a tiny town, and as such nothing will ever be very far away, with the exception of the Hermit Gulch campgrounds, botanic gardens, etc. The Aurora hotel is slightly out of the way compared to other hotels like Hotel Mac Rae, but on Avalon that just means an extra two-minute walk, albeit up a hill. It's kind of nice that it's away from the hustle and bustle of the Avalon nightlife.

We chose this hotel for its complimentary breakfast, and it was great! It wasn't the usual cheap continental breakfast, it

Do not stay here. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday/10 year wedding anniversary. While we were away on an excursion, our room was broken into and my ring and gift cards were stolen. When we contacted the management, they weren't at all sympathetic and couldn't be reached for hours. As the night went on we filed a police report and realized that our balcony could be accessed from the sun deck. The slider to the balcony could easily be unlocked and opened as well. This Hotel has horrible security and we feared for our safety. We were so excited for this trip and we couldn&apos

Stayed here during a weekend scuba diving trip to Catalina. If you're a scuba diver schlepping gear, it gets little tricky walking uphill to the hotel. Take a cab from the Catalina Landing and to and from Casino Point. We walked to Casino Point and both going downhill to the point and uphill back to the hotel were quite a challenge. We rinsed our gear in the showers between the Yacht Club and Tuna Club.

When we arrived back at our hotel, the front desk was very nice and allowed us to store our dive bags/ gear in their first floor storage area. Since our room was on the 3rd floor and there

Absolutely fantastic
My boyfriend and I went here celebrating our seven year anniversary and it could not have been any more perfect. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Breakfast was included and they give you a check off list with options that you pick up the next morning. Everyone was so sweet and they made sure our vacation was perfect.
They have THE most amazing deck on the third floor where you can eat and relax.

Last minute trip to Avalon and there wasn't a lot open to choose from. I decided on the Aurora based on reviews that showed it to be a clean place. We made a great choice.

Now if you're walking be prepared for a 5 min walk up hill. It's not bad just one black but well worth it. They were super friendly and even offered us an upgrade to the Jr. suite for half the price.

I was very impressed with the room. Updated and very clean. Lots of room and came with keurig, microwave, and of course mini fridge.

Great choice and not terribly expensive either! The staff was amazing and very

Stayed here for a night and was well worth. If you enjoy a cozy and smaller stay then this is it for you. Staff is friendly and Fabian from the front desk was more than accommodating. Small breakfast items are included with your stay which is nice, and the hotel has a beautiful rooftop view of the island. Will definitely be back!

Love this boutique hotel, our temp home. Staff is super friendly. Today Friday 4:30 wine and cheese.... hey take it to your room or rooftop, the staff say. Everyone is so nice. Super clean. Prepare for the hike up from the mini round about by the spa. Get those steps in and it does get easier. Junior suite is very cool spacious with shelving with books and coral decor. A couple of martini glasses. A bottle of wine for$20., they know me already.
Jacuzzi tub, I love to soak after showering. Armoire, hand steamer, sofa, fridge, safe and microwave. Comfy bed, pillows and bedding. 2 small cubed foot

Great hotel escape. My daughter and I visited the Island for a night via Jet Skiis. Room was booked 2 nights prior to our departure Friday morning. The hotel was cute. Located just off the Beach area. Three stories with views and a upper story deck with amazing views of Avalon Harbor. Great sun deck lounging for an afternoon of reading or quiet time. Our room was small and perfect. We were offered a continental breakfast which offered a large selection of morning food choices including a nice selection of coffee, pastries, fruits, eggs, cereals, orange juice and milk. Clean and quiet.

Stayed at the Aurora Hotel for 4 nights while in Catalina. Hotel is beautiful and while the rooms are small, you have to remember that everything in Catalina is small. Every space was well thought out, clean and beautifully finished. Continental breakfast every morning and wine and cheese social on the rooftop patio at sunset on the weekend. Free WiFi. All staff were very friendly, attentive and made excellent recommendations for things to do on the island that were authentic and not so touristy. We thought the hotel was located in close proximity to shops, the Casino, Descanso Beach, the museum

Repeat patronage is how you grade a Hotel.

I can go on and on about how enjoyable my stay was there and how they took immediate full responsibility of a advertisement agency who booked us a room they didn't have. So for the ad's price, the Aurora's reservation's desk gave us one of their best suites instead. Now that ladies and gentlemen is how I call respecting your customers. The place was terrific, the view, the layout, everything. So just go there. However, take my advice. If you see an ad for any hotel that seems enticing, call the Hotel's reservation desk

I cannot say enough positive words about this hotel!!! It was our first time to Catalina Island and they were very welcoming. They called ahead of time to see when we would be arriving and since we were staying in the suite, we could come as early as we'd like. Once we arrived, check in was very smooth. They have cucumber water in the lobby which was very refreshing after our walk to the hotel with our luggage.

The suite we stayed in (the only one, separate entrance from hotel) was absolutely fabulous. We had a nice entry way into the room which opened up into a mini kitchen, bedroom, living

This is a brand new hotel, designed in a contemporary design.
The rooms are very well equipped with memory foam beds, LCD tvs and just clean and modern looking.
The bathroom is good as well.
There is a roof top deck looking towards the beach.
And a nice continental breakfast is served in the morning.
The hotel staff are polite and helpful.
There no smoking anywhere in the hotel.
There is only one reason why this place didn't get the 5 star review is the 2 downsides to it.

There's NO elevator so climbing to the third floor with the suitcases is a bummer...
Also the hotel is off the boardwalk
