Came for a family wedding Thanksgiving weekend. The Hotel is older but very nice with beautiful views. Our room was a partial view and very clean comfortable and quiet. We did not really get to use any of the amenities due to scheduling. My only complaint is the staff and service. I am so tired of $400 a night hotels not figuring out a way to provide clean towels and fresh coffee service in an efficient way. How about just ASK your customers and just deliver them automatically. What a concept. We had to remember to ask for everything and the staff acts like it's a burden. Oh and powdered cream

I received feedback from my first review that suggested they'd have done something if only I'd brought these issues to their attention! Forgive me for not staying the obvious - we brought several of these issues to your staff's attention only to hear constantly that due to covid blah blah blah

Nobody cared!

So we are checking and the first thing we're told is that the jacuzzi isn't working - this is one of the main reasons WW decided to stay here. There was no notification from them... We didn't hear until check in and there is no offer of any other compensation. Not so sure I would stay here again.

The good: clean, reasonably comfortable bed and pillows, right on the main drag, quick, efficient front desk staff, tasteful modern decor, window actually opens. The bad: Rooms with "mountain view" get constant noise from gas-powered golf carts on the street; no fridge or microwave means you're limited to the island's horrible restaurant food even though Von's is a 5 min walk away; fireplace would not turn on front desk said yeah sometimes it takes 5 minutes. Not that we really wanted it because it was so hot but still. The ugly: AC unit in our room (317) didn't work

The location of this hotel is pretty central around everything, however most of the hotels are. Check in we were told there would be a bottle of champagne in our room, that didn't happen we had to request it the following day. Then we are notified there will be no room service at all. We stayed for 3 days and we had trash and towels everywhere. Cleanliness was sub par, there were items in the hallways and the spa looked like it hadn't be cleaned since before Covid started. Wouldn't recommend.

Just finished 2 nights stay in the hotel - very enjoyable. It's perfectly located near the shops and restaurants and just 10-15 minutes walk from pier. Room is very clean and spacious. Hotel staff is very courteous. There is 'free' music from the courtyard (it stopped playing at 9pm - add extra vacation vibe to the mood. Will definitely come back!

Stayed here just recently for 3 nights for my wedding. I had the full suite. It was beautiful with a king sized bed, a large pull out couch, a couple upholstered chairs, large ottoman and a spacious balcony facing the ocean. There was a keurig machine, mini fridge, hair dryer, jacuzzi tub and general toiletries you'd see at any hotel (soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion). Even though housekeeping was suspended due to covid, we had no problem getting what we needed. This place is a 15-20 min walk from the port, not super tiring and luckily no hill to walk up. This hotel has its own courtyard

This was my & my husband's first time to Catalina, so I purchased him a hotel room & helicopter return flight combo for his birthday. Right off the bat Asia, who assisted us with the booking, was incredibly personable and helpful in assisting us with upgrades, answering our Qs, communicating with the helo company, and providing vouchers for our transpo from the helipad to the hotel. Since the room wasn't ready when we landed, we were still able to check our bag with concierge as we explored. We received a phone call when our hotel room was ready, and we were even met with a complimentary

Zero service. It's an overpriced motel. I paid for their best room. The pull out for the kids was broken. You call for help you are on your own. Bring your HDMI cable for their smart TV no Netflix. Total rip it's a motel6 at a Ritz price.

My husband and I went to celebrate our 11 year of marriage without the kids, we were looking for something close to La. We had an amazing time! The room was beautiful with outstanding view! We had a blast! And the massage was aooo relaxing one of the best I had! We had a great time. The view from our room was amazing! getting up with the ocean view. few people watched my story at asked about the hotel cause it was looking out of a post card. I will definitely recommend to anyone who wants to come to Catalina! It felt like we flow to Europe can't Believe it's only an hour away

Unfortunately our experience was sub par; 25th wedding anniversary and I decided after a lot of research to book the VIP room for two nights, I called to ask for champagne service every day (did not receive anything), room bed was horrible (frame was broken or just worn out, we had to prop up one side so our head wasn't lower than our feet), no utensils for coffee, really noisy A/C which means coupled with the loud street activities at night make for a super fantastic experience.

Long story short, for the price we paid (~$700 per night) one would think we'd have received 5 star service

Stayed here while on vacation this past week. Beautiful suite with the perfect oceanfront view. Our VIP suite was basically our condo for 4 days and we absolutely loved our stay. In the heart of Catalina and all dining/shopping. We had so much fun during our stay. Luxury and convenience. Happy wife, happy life. Glad my husband booked our stay here.

We picked Metropole for its central location in Avalon, but also for the ocean front suite that we were able to obtain at a discount for a week's stay.

The hotel is not directly on the ocean - but then very little here is - more like across the street, however the views from our one bedroom suite in the VIP section on all sides were great. This was their "VIP Ocean Front Suite" which is right on the corner of Crescent (which is the ocean front street in Avalon) and Metropole Avenues. It may get a tad noisy as the tourists walk by or drink it up in one or more of the adjacent restaurants

I have always wanted to stay here, but I won't be any time soon due to the fact that every time I called, the young lady that answered was extremely rude! Before I could even ask questions I felt as if I was bothering her. She is ruining their business. Yes I should've gotten her name, however this was the first week of February 2021 when they were just beginning to take reservations again.

So far so good the lady who check us in was very nice and I was feeling sea sick from the ride over so having a nice person help us check in was great. Everything was fun and everyone we meet was nice. We did the Ariel adventure and the people there were extremely nice. We are definitely going back the only reason why I'm not giving a 5 stars is because the view of our room not a nice view and we had no fridge. But everything else was great!

Very nice hotel across the street from the water. About an 8 minute walk to museum/ previous casino and Diving Catalina company site. Close to a lot of restaurants and shops, from one to five minutes away.

The view is beachfront and amazing!!!! It has a fireplace as well. The second room was a superior king bed room. Upon check-in:
Bathroom had 4 dead bugs on ceiling.
3 black hairs on toilet (even though it had a sanitary paper banner on the lid).
A harsh vinegar smell that took about 2 hours to aerate with window and door open.
Requested someone to address that smell and the urine smell near door. They did not. So they offered me a bottle of Febreeze, did it myself.
Toilet flusher didn't work and took worker 2 trips to fix and it still didn't work right.
Alarm batteries were failing (in lobby and our room; had that one replaced)
We were a party of 4 but were only offered 2 beach towels.

Lovely Hotel! We came here for our honeymoon. Got the honeymoon package. Great options included in the package to great restaurants and attractions. We also got the custom robes and in-room continental breakfast, 2 trays of fresh food and snacks delivered to our room promptly on time every day! We loved the decor of our room, very modern and comfy. Comfy beds. Great view from the balcony. We didn't hear the neighboring rooms, however the jacuzzi tube was a little loud.. But over all, had an amazing stay here. The staff was super polite and attentive. I look forward to returning to the Metropole

Choose their own hours and would not give me a solid close time when I called. Was told that they close when they get slow which is not helpful at all to their customers.
