I have been going to Yossi for many years now, he has been doing my color, highlights, cuts and blow outs. He is extremely talented and very experienced in his field. He always knows exactly what I want. He makes suggestions and when I have gone with them I am always happy. He is a great find. A very cute and classy studio!

I just moved back to NYC after 10 years. I needed post pandemic color and cut.
I yelped hair salons and found Shaggy. I have seriously curly crazy hair that few have been able to get right.
I walked in and Mersida said " I got you"!
She REALLY DID!!!
I am so happy with my hair!
The place has a fun vibe and I laughed for an hour and 1/2. Everyone is warm and friendly!

I had a pleasant experience at Shaggy Hair Studio. This was probably the best haircut i have ever received. Yossi is an amazing hairstylist. Yossi did exactly what i was asking for. My hair looks gorgeous. He NAILED it!!!

I wanted to wait a few days before writing this review to make sure I really loved the color. It’s been a few days and wow still love it. I came into the color in need of some serious color correction from a bad color experience. I had deep orange in my roots and Oren was able to not only correct issue but also deposit a beautiful new balayage. Really happy with Orens work and the final product. Also my hair feels so much healthier!

It was my first visit after several years with the same hair stylist in my hometown. Did highlights and haircut and while I was nervous it wouldn’t match my desire I Couldn’t be more satisfied. finally I found someone in my current residence and I don’t need to wait a year to fix my hair. Oren and all the staff were very friendly and kept it very safe during this covid period.

I have been seeing Yossi for about two years after he was recommended by a friend. My hair is very difficult to style and I had been to so many different stylist previously and never been thrilled with the results. Since finding Yossi, I have trusted him with color (he has a brilliant eye), keratin, and most recently a haircut. I wasn't sure what cut I wanted, but let him just go for it, and wound up with what is easily the best style of my life (and thoughtfully cut for my type of hair, too!).
The salon is very clean and comfortable, and the team at the salon is always friendly and welcoming

I was looking for a new colorist/stylist after my previous colorist left NYC. I asked a friend who she goes to since her hair always looks amazing. She recommended Yossi at Shaggy Hair Studio. I have now been to Yossi three times and I have never been happier with my color and cut. He knew exactly what I needed to complement my skin tone and to fix some uneven color from the past. Every suggestion he has made has been spot on and my hair has never looked better. If you are looking for a real professional who knows what color and style will work for you, go see Yossi. He is by far the best

I have been going to Shaggy Hair Studio for many years. Yossi is amazing. You can't find more dedicated and skilled professional than this guy.
As soon as you come in, the wonderful staff making sure you're comfortable and offer you coffee and water. What I like about the place is they are always on time, and they put the customer first. for example, the cleanliness of the place especially during covid, is flawless. Was very impressed.
Once you go, you'll never look for a hairdresser again.

I've been going to Yossi at Shaggy for more than 10 years. Now my whole family (husband and 2 kids) goes to Yossi! He always does a great job with my cut and color. Everyone in the salon is so nice and has been there for a long time. It's a great salon on the upper east side with excellent stylists, fair prices and nice small business owners (Yossi and Oren). I highly recommend going to Shaggy for cut, color, Keratin straightening, etc.

Oren has been doing my hair since the day they opened 11 years ago, and I keep coming back for great haircuts and great color! He always listens and works hard to make me happy. Shaggy Hair Studio is a wonderful salon! After reading the amazing reviews, I walked in about three years ago and met with Oren, who patiently listened to my concerns about my dry, frizzy, color-treated hair and made recommendations. He has been cutting and coloring my hair ever since, and every time I leave the salon, I feel like a million bucks! For a while, he had been suggesting, in the nicest way possible, that I try a keratin treatment for my hair, and I finally took the plunge in September 2020. My hard-to-tame hair became so soft and manageable, and it has lasted for months! I don't know

As an Indian Girl is a very big challenge to find a right stylist who can take care of my hair. It's thick and wavy and not always all the colors can absorb it, but not in Shaggy Hair Studio. My friend recommend it me to go to see Yossi, cause she knew that I have been looking for a while to find a new stylist who can make my hair lighter and give me a perfect haircut to it. Yossi is a real professional who knows his craft. He did my hair the way I couldnt even think is possible to do for an Indian girl. From my dark chocolate brown I got transform to warm blonde caramel balayage. It looks so natural

I have been going to Shaggy Hair Studio since they opened. Oren, my stylist and one of the owners, is absolutely fantastic and very professional. I trust him with both my cut and color and always recommend him to my friends and clients. The services are very reasonably priced and the location is very convenient as well. NYC is filled with salons and options put I will always continue going to Oren because he is truly one of the best!

Oren saved me from my post quarantine hair nightmare!
I let my hair grow to longer than it had been since High School- and I fully trusted him to do what needed to be done to not only fix it, but to also not have the same haircut I've had as long as I can remember. He knew exactly what to do, and nailed it. He's the best there is, not to mention an awesome guy. Go see him.

I have to say my recent experience at shaggys hair studio was amazing! my stylist was a dream we had the best conversation and was made felt extremely comfortable, I explained what I wanted done and that's what I got. I left with layers that enhanced the body of my hair and the texture is even better than ever after wash day. I was even given tips on how to maintain my hair and recommended products that I purchased while there that I routinely use now which have done wonders to my hair! Thank you so much to the staff of shaggys hair studio!

I've been in almost every hair place in NYC but Yossi is the most professional one by far.
My hair is not easy to work with and he make me sooo much happy with the results!

I have been coming to Oren and Yossi for my natural blonde highlights for years! They are the best around and really make sure your color looks natural. I get compliments all the time and people are often surprised that I say Shaggy but seriously they are awesome for cuts and color. Everything will look natural and you will get lots of compliments! Ask for Oren or Yossi.

Just to continue to give my 5 star review! 6 + years later and... I'm still a satisfied customer. :) Still commute from Brooklyn. Still feel that I can trust my hair and hair care to Oren. I don't doubt that I will look good, my hair will be healthy and I will walk away feeling that I've done something nice for myself. That goes a long way and is not so easy to find. So I thank Oren and the staff and I highly recommend taking a visit to Shaggy Hair and yes, even if you take a long commute there, it's worth it!

I had a wonderful experience at Shaggy Hair. Upon arrival, my coat was hung for me, and I was offered a beverage. The shampoo service made me feel immediately pampered while I took in my surroundings. The salon is sleek, with beautiful full-length mirrors facing each comfortable, footrest equipped chair. Yossi listened carefully and gave me exactly the cut I wanted. The other patrons who left before I did were happy, which made sense, as they both looked great. I am due for another visit and can't wait.

Oren is simply amazing! After making the mistake of going to a colorist who did a poor job, Oren was able to correct the coloring and give me great feedback on how to move forward. It took about 3 tries (not because of him, because of my natural hair and the mistake in color from the prior work) but I finally have a color I love. For reference I have naturally dark hair as an asian and he did high/low lights with toner. He's also fantastic at cuts. If you explain what you like, he is very intuitive and works with you to achieve the right look. I highly recommend!

Clean space, appointment was easy to make, nice conversation. I just think I paid too much for the service at hand. When I made the appointment I was told $280 or higher, never did I think $395 (what I was told before my services was finished not at the beginning) or $415 which is what I was actually charged. Happy with the cut and color but I do think it is overpriced.
