I moved out of these apartments because there is a MASSIVE ROACH INFESTATION. My neighbor below me also moved out the same month I did for the exact same reason. Montelano knows they have a problem and do not fix it.
This is no joke. I have attached emails sent to Montelano Mgmt documenting the 2 years of infestation. The first email you will see I made a list of roach sightings for them to see. I wrote numerous emails to them and nothing changed. They will send a pest guy but it has no affect. Also attached is an email from Montelano to the tenants regarding the DOG FECES problem.

I've lived there apartments look nice at the time when you looking but what they don't tell you is this. Within 5 months of me living here everytime maintenance comes a situation got worst. My washer stopped draining water, their maintenance team said they fixed it. So i started a load and next thing I know my entire apartment is full of water. Even down to tonight. They have an after hour line and my ceiling is leaking but instead of helping me they tell me to wait until tomorrow. Their team in the office really don't know how to make any situation feel homely it realistically feels like they

We was going to rent an apartment here. But we changed our mind the apartment complex was infested with cockroaches We didn't even get the key in the door And we already had them greeting us. There was cockroaches crawling on the floors on the wall in the bathtub even in the icebox. I believe that the health department needs to look into this apartment complex, it is very nasty do not rent here !!!!

The price isn't bad at the cost of the place absolutely falling apart and reporting it does nothing . Asked for maintenance to come in to fix broken doors failed electrical wiring they closed the ticket without a call, text or anything on my door saying someone came out. Haven't had a working stove for 3 months and have left multiple calls and requests for someone to give me a call back about both issues. When I attempt to walk by during business hours no one is ever in.

Let me start off by saying I didn’t not choose to rent here due to the high renting rates but I was asked to leave a review about my experience of touring here.
I came in looking to tour and to get some info, I met the leasing agent Esme who is really amazing I have been searching for an apartment for now 4 month and Esme is the first agent I have met that I would actually rent from. We sat at her desk for probably an hour she answer every random question I could think of about renting, I was unsure about my income not been enough Esme kindly calculate my income based off my most recent stubs

I would like to tell you about my experience. I came in the other day and i was greeted at the door by esme, she was amazing. I was actually shocked when i saw a negative review about her. She was amazing answered all my questions and assisted me with a tour of a 1 bedroom. She was so happy and caring. I will be submitting the application for this property. We have lived here a little over two years now and we have been happy here, I really wish they would actually make this complex safer I mean it's a gated complex but if you come in off of 19th the gates are to the left and right but you can come through straight by the leasing office and have access to the complex , the office staff are very nice. The maintenance staff are nice as well, a little slow getting your request done but there are a lot of tenants who also have issues

This is the worst place. I moved in 3wks ago and so far my dishwasher is full of rust, the pipes under the kitchen sink flooded, my fridge froze and flooded the kitchen floor, my ovens setting are not correct and we almost had a fire, multiple plugs don't work, the knob to the vent above the stove broke off and the fan is stuck on, the windows don't open, our front door doesn't close all the way.
I was told maintenance would respond after the weekend and nothing. This place is a joke. They dropped off a knob for the stove to 'fix' that it's not working.

Update - the water is off again for the 1000th TIME, submitted a complaint to the bbb and they are lying to try and make themselves look good but I have receipts even tho they took me off their emailing lists to tell me when the water will be off I have submitted evidence to the bbb of them not responding to me, the front office people still never answer the phone and when they do they rather argue with you instead of fixing the problem my sister called the office and the lady said "phew I thought it was your sister" very unprofessional I keep it professional and choose not to argue over

Every time I have a problem in my apartment I put in a request and they never get back to me it seems like every day the water is either off or not hot in my side of the apartment every time I make a complete or have somebody look at anything everything gets put on hold management here sucks do not choose a place to live in

I lived in these apartments for 6 years while I was in college from 2012-18 for reference. They staff changes yearly if not sooner. I have dealt with multiple "Property Managers" most are incompetent and never willing to speak to the tenets on the issues. They shut the door every time the office is busy. I would love to rate the place a zero if possible. First reason to never lease here is these apartments are infested with roaches. If you haven't yet you will begin to see them in the summer. I was unaware of how bad it was I asked the staff at the time (2012) how can I fix this? They mentioned

I am so glad that I picked these apartments! Both girls up in front have been super helpful and extremely sweet in helping me out with whatever issue I have. I’ve had no issues with roaches or any other creepy crawlers lurking around. I am so satisfied with my experience and my apartment. I am a student from El Paso and the Montelano apartments have been more then welcoming with an awesome service!

I took the risk based on the few good reviews, pictures shown on the websites (which look nothing like the actual units btw), and competitive price, but trust me when I say it's not worth it.
1. It's not gated as advertised.
You have a few gates around the property that are always open, allowing homeless people to pick out of the dumpsters and garbage cans around the complex, oh and don't forget the countless drug dealers I've seen drive in here

They are insanely sweet......until you move out. Then, they take you for all you're worth. My husband and I lived there for 2 15 month leases. We recently moved across the country. Before we moved we called and talked to Bella about what exactly they will deduct from our deposit. She said that they are as fair as they can be. One specific concern they had was that the cheap blinds would never stay on. So, we got to a point where we just kept the several that were falling off off the windows, which resulted in them getting bent. She specifically told us that they probably wouldn't charge

Update... new neighbors. I've been leaving some stuff outside of my door for a bit and things keep disappearing. Tenants moving in are just getting worse. Late nights i can hear them talking loudly or scrapping their shoes on the stairs.

Wish I could give them ZERO STARS. First I was lied to when visiting the apartments. There is a ROACH problem which I specifically asked about. Not only was there ROACHES I had to clean the dead ones from the washer, dryer, sink and in the corners of the carpet. The staff will say anything to keep you quiet, BUT don't trust them. The place is TRASH and I Can't wait to find another place. Also don't bring furniture and if you do leave it!

The 65$ that we were supposed to get? Never came. Figures. I'm not surprised. And to the person who responded from Capilano Properties - There should be a sign in your office that says "Not A Smoke Free Property." You purposefully with hold valuable information and that is wrong. I have lived in multiple apartment complexes in Phoenix and EVERY single one of them was smoke free. Your place is awful and I feel sorry for all the other people who get stuck living there.
If my review deters just ONE person from moving in there, then my review was 100% worth posting

Been here for two months. Getting the office to answer the phone is nearly impossible, for various reasons I have had need to call them and they answer about 1 in 10 times. On one occasion when I did get and answer I was told they would call back with the information I requested. I never heard back. I had to go into the office the next day and ask again.
My neighbors are loud, very loud I have one couple that seem to always fight and yell and scream I finally reported them and am uncertain what has happened regarding that report since turning it in. In a more general since the other are just

I don't know why people are trashing Montelano, for I've had nothing but good experiences while living here! I've even renewed my lease for another 15 months.
The staff is amazing, the complex is quiet and well kept. Whenever I submit a repair request, it's usually done within a week.
Yeah, you're going to get the occasional noisy neighbor, but for the most part the apartments are so well designed (you only share one common wall- the very back) I usually can't hear anything until I step outside.
It's also very conveniently located near a light rail station

No surprise Montelano does not have a good review....i have waited over 2 MONTHS for the problems in my apt to be fixed...and they still arent fixed. It really does seem like a nice apt when you first move in but about 2 months in you start to realize the mistake youve made. I see people being pushed around, fights happening, relationships unfold at midnight, ambulance is coming at least once a month, police officers coming weekly,alcoholics walking down the street into our apartment complex and banging on doors. It's ridiculous! The dumpsters are always overflowing so people are throwing

Geez, where to begin. The list of what is wrong with this apartment complex is more than the positives. In fact, I can't think of anything positive except that my lease has expired and I'm moving out!
The cons: Security: Lacking. I've seen both the fire department and police department called out for my building alone in the last 2 months at least once a week. Security at the complex is about as useful as a giving a drowning victim a glass of water.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! IF you want to keep your sanity, DO NOT move here. 11.30.11 was the day I moved into an apartment there. Over the years they have had many management companies take over. This most recent one is the worst yet.
After reading the last review it looks like they have a pretty good scheme with the "we left it on your door" and the "here's a photo of it on your door" thing. Yeah that happened to me at least 3 times this last year.
